Grazie e buona giornata!

Grazie!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- INCREASE TIP-1: INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS LEFT – from RIGHT SIDE: Use the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches from the row below, pick up the strand from the front and knit through the stitch-loop that lies on the back of the needle. INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS THE RIGHT- from RIGHT SIDE: Use the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches from the row below, pick up the strand from the back and knit through the stitch-loop that lies on the front of the needle. INCREASE TIP-2: INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS THE RIGHT- from WRONG SIDE: Use the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches from the row below, pick up the strand from the back and purl through the stitch-loop that lies on the front of the needle. INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS LEFT – from WRONG SIDE: Use the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches from the row below, pick up the strand from the front and purl through the stitch-loop that lies on the back of the needle. PATTERN: See diagram A.1. The pattern is worked in stockinette stitch. INCREASE TIP for transition to rib: When increasing evenly on the first round of rib, it is important to increase in the stitches that will subsequently be purled, so the knitted stitches continue neatly from the stockinette stitch. SLEEVE TIP: When knitting up stitches under the sleeve, you can be left with a small hole in the transition between the stitches on the body and sleeve. This hole can be closed by picking up the strand between 2 stitches and working this strand twisted together with the first stitch between body and sleeve. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (2 stitches decreased). ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- SWEATER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE. The pattern uses both long and short needles; start with the length which fits the number of stitches and change when necessary. Work according to points 1 – 5. 1. BACK PIECE: Cast on stitches for the back of the neck. Work the back piece back and forth, top down, increasing stitches on each side until the shoulder stitch-count has been achieved. The back piece has slightly diagonal shoulders. 2. FRONT PIECE: Worked in 2 sections (each side of neck). Start by knitting up stitches along one back shoulder, working downwards and increasing for the neckline. Repeat on the other shoulder. The shoulders are joined, casting on stitches for the front neckline (= front piece), which is continued back and forth to the given measurement. 3. YOKE: Place all the stitches on the same circular needle, work first the front piece, knit up stitches for the sleeve along one side of the front piece, work the back piece, knit up stitches for the second sleeve along the other side of the front piece. The yoke is continued in the round with pattern across all stitches. 4. INCREASE FOR BODY AND SLEEVES: While continuing the yoke, stitches are increased, first for the sleeves and later for both the body and sleeves. 5. BODY AND SLEEVES: When the increases and the yoke are finished, the yoke is divided for the body and sleeves. The body is finished in the round while the sleeves wait. Then the sleeves are worked in the round, top down. Stitches are knitted up around the neckline and the neck is worked in the round to finish. ------------------------------------------------------- BACK PIECE: The piece is worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 37-37-37-37-39-39-39 stitches with circular needle size 4 MM = US 6 and color Blue Haze DROPS Fiesta. ROW 1 (wrong side): Purl. ROW 2 (right side): Read INCREASE TIP-1. Knit 2, increase 1 stitch towards the left, knit until there are 2 stitches left on the row, increase 1 stitch towards the right, knit 2. ROW 3 (wrong side): Read INCREASE TIP-2. Purl 2, increase 1 stitch towards the right, purl until there are 2 stitches left on the row, increase 1 stitch towards the left, purl 2. Work ROWS 2 and 3 a total of 11-12-13-14-14-15-16 times (22-24-26-28-28-30-32 rows worked) = 81-85-89-93-95-99-103 stitches. Remember to maintain the knitting gauge. Cut the strand and place the stitches on a stitch holder. LEFT SHOULDER: Find the left back shoulder as follows: Lay the back piece flat, right side up, with the stitch holder/thread towards you; left side of piece = left shoulder. Start from the right side by the neck on the left back shoulder and knit up 1 stitch in each row worked, inside the outermost stitch as far as the armhole (22-24-26-28-28-30-32 stitches), finish by knitting up 1 stitch outermost on the shoulder (edge stitch) = 23-25-27-29-29-31-33 shoulder-stitches. Insert 1 marker by the neck. All measurements on the front piece are taken from this marker measured in the knitting direction. Work stockinette stitch, with the first row from the wrong side. When the piece measures 6-6-7-8-8-9-10 cm = 2⅜"-2⅜"-2¾"-3⅛"-3⅛"-3½"-4", increase for the neckline as follows: ROW 1 (right side): Remember INCREASE TIP-1. Knit 2, increase 1 stitch towards the left, knit to end of row. ROW 2 (wrong side): Purl without increasing. Work ROWS 1 and 2 a total of 4-4-4-4-5-5-5 times (8-8-8-8-10-10-10 rows worked) = 27-29-31-33-34-36-38 stitches. The neckline increases are finished. The piece measures approx. 9-9-10-11-12-13-14 cm = 3½"-3½"-4"-4⅜"-4¾"-5⅛"-5½" from the marker. 2 cm = ¾" of the neckline depth will lie on the back piece. Cut the strand and place the stitches on a stitch holder. Work the right shoulder along the right back shoulder as follows. RIGHT SHOULDER: Start from the right side by the shoulder on the right back shoulder and knit up 1 stitch outermost on the corner (edge-stitch), then knit up 1 stitch in each row worked, inside the outermost stitch as far as the neck (= 22-24-26-28-28-30-32 stitches) = 23-25-27-29-29-31-33 shoulder-stitches. Insert 1 marker by the neck. All measurements on the front piece are taken from this marker measured in the knitting direction. Work stockinette stitch, with the first row from the wrong side. When the piece measures 6-6-7-8-8-9-10 cm = 2⅜"-2⅜"-2¾"-3⅛"-3⅛"-3½"-4", increase for the neckline as follows: ROW 1 (right side): Knit until there are 2 stitches left, increase 1 stitch towards the right, knit 3 - remember INCREASE TIP-1. ROW 2 (wrong side): Purl without increasing. Work ROWS 1 and 2 a total of 4-4-4-4-5-5-5 times (8-8-8-8-10-10-10 rows worked) = 27-29-31-33-34-36-38 stitches. FRONT PIECE: On the next row (right side), join the 2 shoulders as follows: Knit the 27-29-31-33-34-36-38 stitches on the right shoulder, cast on 27 stitches, knit the 27-29-31-33-34-36-38 stitches on the left shoulder = 81-85-89-93-95-99-103 stitches. Work stockinette stitch back and forth until the piece measures 12-12-14-14-14-14-16 cm = 4¾"-4¾"-5½"-5½"-5½"-5½"-6¼" from the marker, with the last row from the wrong side. Cut the strand. The front and back pieces are now joined and stitches are knitted up for the sleeves. ROW 1 (right side): Knit the first stitch on the back piece (this stitch belongs to the sleeve), insert 1 marker (= beginning of round), knit until there is 1 stitch left on the back piece, insert 1 marker, knit the last stitch on the back piece (belongs to the sleeve), knit up 25-25-29-29-29-29-33 stitches along the right-hand side of the front piece (= sleeve-stitches which are knitted up inside the outermost stitch), knit the first stitch on the front piece (belongs to the sleeve), insert 1 marker, knit until there is 1 stitch left on the front piece, insert 1 marker, knit the last stitch on the front piece (belongs to the sleeve), knit up 25-25-29-29-29-29-33 stitches along the left-hand side of the front piece (= sleeve-stitches which are knitted up inside the outermost stitch) = 212-220-236-244-248-256-272 stitches. Knit the first stitch so the round begins by the marker (in the transition between the back piece and the sleeve). There are 27-27-31-31-31-31-35 stitches on each sleeve and 79-83-87-91-93-97-101 stitches on the front and back pieces. YOKE: Continue in the round with pattern, see diagram A.1. NOTE: On the rounds worked with 2 colors the stitch between the increases and the increases should be worked in color Blue Haze. ROUND 1: Knit and increase 1 stitch on each side of both sleeves – remember INCREASE TIP-1, increasing towards the left at the beginning of the sleeves and towards the right at the end of the sleeves. The stitch count on the sleeves increases but remains the same on the front and back pieces. ROUND 2: Knit without increasing; the new stitches are worked into the pattern. Work ROUNDS 1 and 2 a total of 10-12-12-12-10-9-5 times (20-24-24-24-20-18-10 rounds worked: 47-51-55-55-51-49-45 stitches on each sleeve and 79-83-87-91-93-97-101 stitches on the front and back pieces) = 252-268-284-292-288-292-292 stitches. Now continue increasing on both the sleeves and the body, increasing 1 stitch inside the markers on the body so there is 1 stitch between the increases on the body and sleeves. ROUND 1: * Knit 1, increase 1 stitch towards the left, knit until there is 1 stitch left before the next marker, increase 1 stitch towards the right, knit 1, move the marker onto the right needle, increase 1 stitch towards the left, knit to the next marker (= sleeve), increase 1 stitch towards the right, move the marker onto the right needle, * work from *-* 1 more time (8 increased stitches; i.e., 1 increased stitch on each side of 1 stitch in each transition between the body and sleeves). ROUND 2: Knit without increasing; the new stitches are worked into the pattern. Work ROUNDS 1 and 2 a total of 9-10-12-13-17-19-23 times (18-20-24-26-34-38-46 rounds worked). A total of 19-22-24-25-27-28-28 increases in height on the sleeves and 9-10-12-13-17-19-23 increases in height on the body: 65-71-79-81-85-87-91 stitches on each sleeve and 97-103-111-117-127-135-147 stitches on the front and back pieces = 324-348-380-396-424-444-476 stitches. The sleeves measure approx. 14-16-17-18-19-20-20 cm = 5½"-6¼"-6¾"-7"-7½"-8"-8". If the piece is folded double at the shoulder, it should measure approx. 20-22-24-25-26-27-28 cm = 8"-8¾"-9½"-9¾"-10¼"-10⅝"-11" from outermost on the shoulder and down the armhole. If the piece is shorter than this, continue working without further increases to the correct length. Now divide for the body and sleeves, making sure you divide on a round worked with Blue Haze. DIVIDE FOR BODY AND SLEEVES Knit the first 97-103-111-117-127-135-147 (= front piece), place the next 65-71-79-81-85-87-91 stitches on a stitch holder for the sleeve, cast on 4-6-6-8-10-12-12 stitches (mid-under the sleeve), knit 97-103-111-117-127-135-147 stitches (back piece), place the next 65-71-79-81-85-87-91 stitches on a stitch holder for the sleeve, cast on 4-6-6-8-10-12-12 stitches (mid-under the sleeve). The body and sleeves are finished separately. BODY: = 202-218-234-250-274-294-318 stitches. Insert 1 marker in the middle of the 4-6-6-8-10-12-12 stitches cast on under 1 sleeve. Knit to the marker; the round now begins here. Continue A.1 in the round until the piece measures 41-43-45-47-48-50-52 cm = 16⅛"-17"-17¾"-18½"-19"-19¾"-20½" from the cast-on edge mid-back. Continue stockinette stitch with color Blue Haze until the piece measures 45-47-49-51-52-54-56 cm = 17¾"-18½"-19¼"-20"-20½"-21¼"-22" from the cast-on edge mid-back. Change to circular needle size 3 MM = US 2.5. Work rib (knit 1 and purl 1). AT THE SAME TIME, increase 38-42-46-50-54-58-64 stitches evenly on the first round – read INCREASE TIP-3 = 240-260-280-300-328-352-382 stitches. When the rib measures 5-5-5-5-6-6-6 cm = 2"-2"-2"-2"-2⅜"-2⅜"-2⅜", bind off with rib. The sweater measures approx. 50-52-54-56-58-60-62 cm = 19¾"-20½"-21¼"-22"-22¾"-23⅝"-24⅜" from mid-back and 52-54-56-58-60-62-64 cm = 20½"-21¼"-22"-22¾"-23⅝"-24⅜"-25¼" from top of shoulder. SLEEVES: Place the 65-71-79-81-85-87-91 sleeve-stitches from one stitch holder onto circular needle size 4 MM = US 6 and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 4-6-6-8-10-12-12 cast-on stitches under the sleeve – read SLEEVE TIP = 69-77-85-89-95-99-103 stitches. Insert a marker-thread in the middle of 4-6-6-8-10-12-12 new stitches under the sleeve. The round starts by the marker-thread. Continue A.1 in the round AT THE SAME TIME, after 1 round, decrease 2 stitches every 2nd round 2-2-2-3-3-4-4 times – read DECREASE TIP. Then decrease 2 stitches every 8-3½-2-2-1½-1½-1½ cm = 3⅛"-1¼"-¾"-¾"-½"-½"-½", 3-6-9-9-11-11-12 times = 59-61-63-65-67-69-71 stitches. Work until the sleeve measures 27-25-25-24-23-22-22 cm = 10⅝"-9¾"-9¾"-9½"-9"-8¾"-8¾" from the division. Now continue with color Blue Haze until the sleeve measures 35-33-33-32-30-29-29 cm = 13¾"-13"-13"-12½"-11¾"-11⅜"-11⅜". Change to double pointed needles size 3 MM = US 2.5. Work rib (knit 1 and purl 1), AT THE SAME TIME increase 11-13-13-13-13-15-15 stitches evenly on the first round – remember INCREASE TIP-3 = 70-74-76-78-80-84-86 stitches. When the rib measures 5-5-5-5-6-6-6 cm = 2"-2"-2"-2"-2⅜"-2⅜"-2⅜", bind off with rib. The sleeve measures approx. 40-38-38-37-36-35-35 cm = 15¾"-15"-15"-14½"-14¼"-13¾"-13¾" from the division and 54-54-55-55-55-55-55 cm = 21¼"-21¼"-21⅝"-21⅝"-21⅝"-21⅝"-21⅝" from the knitted up edge on the shoulder. NECK: Use circular needle size 3 MM = US 2.5 and color Blue Haze. Start from the right side mid-back and knit up 104-104-106-108-116-118-120 stitches around the neckline, inside 1 stitch. Work rib (= 1 knit and 1 purl) in the round for 4-4-4½-4½-5-5-5 cm = 1½"-1½"-1⅝"-1⅝"-2"-2"-2". Bind off with rib. |
