European yoke 2/4 – Shoulders - Neck is finished after the stitches for sleeve are knitted up

In this DROPS video, we show you how to knit up stitches along the shoulders on the back piece when working a European yoke – the neckline is finished after the stitches for the sleeves are knitted up. The 2 front pieces are worked on either side of the neckline.

We show you how to knit up 1 edge stitch + 14 stitches along the back right shoulder, then you continue with stockinette stitch. When the piece measures 7 cm= 2¾" stitches are increased for the neckline, read INCREASE TIP-1 TOWARDS THE RIGHT below. We show 2 increases. At the end of the last row, we decrease the last stitch (the edge stitch). The right shoulder stitches are then placed on a stitch holder. The left front shoulder is knitted up and worked in the same way but in reverse (read description in your pattern).

INCREASE TIP-1:
INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS THE LEFT – from right side: Use the left needle to pick up the front strand between 2 stitches from the previous row, knit through the back loop.
INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS THE RIGHT – from right side: Use the left needle to pick up the back strand between 2 stitches from the previous row, knit through the front loop.
