Ribbing K1,P1

Working in rib gives an elastic piece that is great for cuffs and edges. It’s important that all knitted stitches comes above knitted stitches, and all purled stitches come above the purled stitches. In the video we are knitting 1 and purling 1 (K1, P1). 1st row (RS): K1, P1, continue like this until end of row, turn. 2nd row (WS): P1 above P1, K1 above K1. Continue like this until end of row, turn. Repeat 1st and 2nd row until rib has desired measure in height.

How to work knit 1, purl 1 (in the round) – Nordic knitting method

In this DROPS video we show you how to work knit 1, purl 1, in the round using the Nordic knitting method. This textured pattern is called rib/ribbing and is one of many varieties. BEFORE THE VIDEO STARTS: The stitch count needs to be divisible by 2 so that all knitted stitches are above each other and all purled stitches are above each other. We have already worked a few centimetres of the ribbed pattern. THE VIDEO SHOWS: ROUND 1: Knit 1, purl 1, to end of round. ROUND 2: The stitches are worked in the same way as the stitches below = knit above knit and purl above purl. Repeat ROUND 2 onwards.

How to work a rib with knit twisted and purl stitches – back and forth

In this DROPS video we show a rib worked back and forth with 1 knit twisted stitch and 2 purl stitches. By knitting stitches twisted these stitches will "pop out" a bit and you will get a more distinctive rib, also gives a firmer and more stable rib. At the end of the video, we show 2 examples on ribs worked: 1 knit twisted stitch and 1 purl stitch and 2 knit twisted stitches and 2 purl stitch. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. First, we show a rib with Knit 2 / Purl 2, then a rib with Knit 2 twisted / Purl 2. To get the twisted stitch, knit the stitch in the back loop. Rib - displaced

Work in rib * K 2, P 2 *, repeat from *-* around. When the displacing of the rib begins, work 1 round where the rib is displaced 1 stitch to the left as follows: Over K 2, P 2 there will be P 1, K 2, P 1. *Work 3 rounds with K over K and P over P, displace the rib 1 st to the left on next round (= 4 rounds) *, repeat from *-*.

How to work an easy and nice texture pattern.

In this DROPS video we show how to work an easy and nice texture pattern, such as the rib to the Rose Blush vest in DROPS 212-44. Work like this: From RS: Work 3 edge stitches in garter stitch, * 2 stitches in stockinette stitch , 2 stitches in garter stitch *, work from *-* until there are 5 stitches left, 2 stitches in stockinette stitch and finish with 3 edge stitches in garter stitch. From WS: Work 3 edge stitches in garter stitch, * 2 stitches in stockinette stitch , 2 stitches in garter stitch *, work from *-* until there are 5 stitches left, 2 stitches in stockinette stitch and finish with 3 edge stitches in garter stitch. Continue like this to desired length. Ridge/garter stitch: Knit all rows. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video.
