Lace basic

Here is one of the easiest lace patterns, a 2 row repeat only. Great for beginners and mindless lace knitting.Perfect for scarves and any type of yarn. Cast on an even number of stitches. Row 1: K1, *yo, K2 tog*, repeat *-* end row with K1. Row 2: K all sts and yo on row. Repeat row 1-2 for pattern.

How to work an easy lace pattern.

In this DROPS video we show how we work an easy lace pattern, that is used in the Warm Bordeaux scarf in DROPS 192-33. We have already cast on 21 stitches (including 1 edge stitch in each side), worked 1 garter stitch and repeated the pattern 3 times. LACE PATTERN: ROW 1 (= right side): Work 1 garter stitch, * knit 2 together, 1 yarn over *, work from *-* until there are 2 stitches left, knit 2. ROW 2 (= wrong side): Knit 1, purl until there is 1 stitch left, knit 1. ROW 3: Work 1 garter stitch, knit 1, * knit 2 together, 1 yarn over *, work from *-* until there is 1 stitch left, knit 1. ROW 4: Knit 1, purl until there is 1 stitch left, knit 1. Repeat rows 1-4 onwards. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. Basic lace pattern: 1 yo, K 2 tog

We are showing how to make a basic lace pattern, which we use in many of our patterns. Remember to K an edge stitch each side. row RS: K1 edge st, *1 yo, K2 tog*, repeat *-* across and end with K1 edge st. row 2 WS: K1 edge st, *1 yo, P2 tog*, repeat *-* across and end with K1 edge st. Remember you also need to follow a pattern with this lace pattern in addition to watching the video.

Three variants of the same simple lace pattern.

Here we show three variants of the same simple lace pattern but knitted in different ways, so the holes pulls to the right, or left, or go zigzag. Our lace patterns in this video is knitted over 10 stitches where 1 st each side is an edge st worked in garter st (K on each row). The row with pattern is worked from RS, and you purl all sts on row back on WS. If you want the holes to pull diagonally up to the right start with (K1 edge st each side): K2 tog, 1 YO, repeat across. If the holes should go diagonally up to the left, work like this (K1 edge st each side): 1 YO, slip 1 st as if to K, K1 and psso, repeat across. If the holes should go zigzag work alternately these two explanations from RS and purl back. Remember that for every dec there must be a yarn over, so you keep a consistent number of stitches on the needle after each row. Enjoy! Double yo - large hole

When working a lace pattern and you want to make a larger hole than you get by making 1 yo, you can make a double yo. The pattern will explain it something like this: 1 double yo between 2 sts. On next row from WS P first yo and drop the next yo.

Lace with zig-zag

This pretty and easy lace pattern is perfect to use for e.g. a scarf. We have chosen to show two repeats of the pattern in the width with 2 edge st at each side. To make it easier we already knitted one repeat in the height, beginning with the 1st row of the second repeat: 1st row (RS): Slip 1 st as to K, K1, * YO, P2 twisted together, K8 *, repeat *-*, finish off with K1, P1. 2nd row and all WS rows: Slip 1 st as to K, K1, P until the last 2 st, K1, P1. (rows 4, 6, 8 and 10 are fast forwarded in this video). 3rd row: Slip 1 st as to K, K1, * K1, YO, P2 twisted together, K5, K2 together, YO *, repeat *-*, and finish off with K1, P1. 5th row: Slip 1 st as to K, K1, * K2, YO, P2 twisted together, K3, K2 together, YO, K1 *, repeat *-*, and finish off with K1, P1. 7th row: Slip 1 st as to K, K1, * K3, YO, P2 twisted together, K1, K2 together, YO, K2 *, repeat *-*, and finish off with K1, P1. 9th row: Slip 1 st as to K, K1, * K4, YO, K3 together (= Slip 1 st as to K, K2 together, PSSO), YO, K3 *, repeat *-* and finish off with K1, P1. 10th row: as all WS rows.

How to knit a lace pattern

In this DROPS video we show you how to knit a lace pattern. We cast on 26 stitches and knit the chart with 2 edge stitch in each side (22+4). Chart description: Empty square = knit from right side, purl from wrong side Black dot = purl from right side, knit from wrong side The triangle pointing to the left = knit 2 stitches together The triangle pointing to the right = slip 1 stitch, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over The triangle pointing up = slip 1 stitch, knit 2 together, pass the slipped stitch over Empty circle = between 2 stitches make 1 yarn over In the video we use the yarn DROPS Snow.

How to knit a lace pattern with little trees

In this DROPS video we show you how to knit lace pattern with little trees. We cast on 40 stitches and knit the chart with 2 edge stitch in each side (36+4). We have already worked the first 8 rows of the chart and we show you the last 8, so that you easier can see the pattern. Chart description: Empty square = knit from right side, purl from wrong side Black line = purl stitch Empty circle = between 2 stitches make 1 yarn over The triangle pointing up = slip 2 stitches, knit 1, pass the slipped stitches over the knitted one by one In the video we use the yarn DROPS Snow.

How to work a lace pattern with increases and decreases to make a little knot

In this DROPS video we show how to work after chart with increases and decreases to make a little knot. This chart is used in the vest «Raspberry Rose» in DROPS 218-17 and the sweater «Raspberry Rose Sweater» in DROPS 218-18. We work 3 garter stitches on each side and mark the 3 icons that makes the knot in purple. Icon 1: Work in the stitch below the next stitch as follows: knit 1, 1 yarn over, knit 1 (= 2 stitches increased). Icon 2: 3 Work stitches in stockinette stitch. Icon 3: Work like this: slip 2 stitches as if to knit together, knit 1 and pass the 2 slipped stitches over the knitted stitch (= 2 stitches decreased). The vest and sweater are knitted in DROPS Alpaca, but in the video we use a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow. You must read the pattern and look at the charts to be able to follow this video properly. How to work 4 different chart icons

In this DROPS video we show how to work 4 different chart icons. We mark the icons pink before knitting/purling. We work 2 stitches in each side in garter stitch. In some patterns, there may be other charts and similar chart icons, but the technique is almost the same. Chart icon 1: Knit 3 together (= 2 stitches decreased). Chart icon 2: Between 2 stitches make 2 yarn overs; on the next row (wrong side) purl the first yarn over twisted (i.e. the yarn over towards the middle of the diagram); the second yarn over is purled (i.e. the yarn over towards the side) (= 2 stitches increased). Chart icon 3: between 2 stitches make 2 yarn overs; on the next row (wrong side) purl the first yarn over (i.e. the yarn over towards the side), the second yarn over is purled twisted (i.e. yarn over towards the middle of the diagram) (= 2 stitches increased). Chart icon 4: Slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 2 together and pass the slipped stitch over (= 2 stitches decreased). We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. In this DROPS video we show how to work the lace pattern after chart A.2 for the top in DROPS 170-32 and the jumper in DROPS 170-8. DROPS 146-3 Lace pattern

This nice lace pattern is easy to knit. We already made one repetition following the chart. In the video we show how to work the pattern rows in the chart. We have 1 edge st each side worked in garter st i.e. K on every row. Start at the bottom right corner and follow the chart text in the pattern. All uneven rows are pattern rows worked from RS. DROPS 139-5 M.4B Lace pattern

In this video we already have worked the first rows in chart to show the pattern. 1st row work from RS starting at bottom right corner of chart: P2, K2 tog, yo, K2, P2. 2nd row from WS start at 2nd row in diagram and work from left to right: K2, P2 tog, yo, P2, K2. How to work after chart A.2 in DROPS 220-3 and 220-4

In this DROPS video we show how to work after chart A.2 to the Galatea” sweater in DROPS 220-3 and to the “Galatea Cardigan” jacket in DROPS 220-4. We use a much fewer stitches that it says in the pattern and we already worked A.2 1 time in height. We show the beginning in each round. This sweater and jacket are worked with 2 strands from yarn group A, but in the video we use a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow. DROPS 139-3 & 4 - Lace pattern

In this video we have already worked one repeat of the chart in height. We start next repeat on a RS row at the bottom right corner on chart. We work 1st row in chart from right to left. Next row from WS we follow the chart from left to right. The outer 2 sts each side and the one stitch in the middle are K on every row, as shown in chart. Follow the chart published with the pattern. This beautiful lace pattern consists of yarn overs and decreases only. To easily be able to see the pattern we have chosen to work two reports in width with 1 edge st each side, and we have already worked three repeats of the chart in height. DROPS 148-11 & 12 Lacepattern

In this video we show the pretty and yet easy lace pattern used in the waist on these two popular designs 148-11 & 148-12. Follow the chart in the patterns, where you work the pattern in the round on a circular needle and all rows in charts will be worked from RS. On our sample the first rows are worked and we start on the first actual pattern row in chart. We P2 on each side of the pattern to make it easy to see how the holes will look like from RS: 3rd row = first actual pattern row (right side): P2 (edge sts), 1 yo, slip 1 st as if to K, K 2 tog, psso, 1 yo, P3, 1 yo, slip 1 st as if to K, K 2 tog, psso, 1 yo, P2 (edge sts). 4th row (in video we work it from WS): K2 (edge sts), P3, K3, P3, K2 (edge sts). 5th row (right side): P2, K3, P3, K3, P2 6th row (WS): as row 4. 7th row (right side): work pattern again as on row 3 The actual pattern rows are worked on every 4th row and the other rows are worked with K over K and P over P.
