Fair Isle - 2 color knitting - continental

In this video we are following a chart back and forth on needles, knitting with two colors.
The color that not is knitted is following behind the work when knitting RS rows. Make sure it's not too tight or too loose. If more than 3 sts in a row of one of the colors, then twist the yarns for every 3 sts, by picking up the working yarn alternately above and under the yarn following on the back. When working WS rows have the yarn following in front of work, again make sure you have the right tension on the thread. Note - if a color not is used all the way at the end of the row, you can drop it, but if it will be used at the beginning of the next row, then keep carry it a long by twisting around the working yarn. Don't worry if it's a bit uneven, it will even out a lot when blocking.

Buonasera Lis, deve "portarsi dietro" il filo che non lavora avvolgendolo a quello di lavoro ogni 2 o 3 maglie in modo che rimanga in tensione e non penzoli dietro il lavoro. Buon lavoro!

Hei Sudanne Når du strikker pinne 2 og 3 behøver ikke farge 2 å følge med. Når du skal strikke med 2 farger igjen er fargen på "riktig" plass. Bare pass på at tråden til farge 2 ikke strammer når den skal strikkes på pinne 4. mvh DROPS Design

Buonasera Cristina, i diagrammi si leggono sempre dal basso verso l'alto e da destra verso sinistra in caso di lavorazione in tondo; per la lavorazione in piano i ferri di andata si leggono da destra a sinistra e quelli di ritorno da sinistra a destra, ma sempre dal basso verso l'alto. Buon lavoro!

How to work an I-cord edge, back and forth

How to increase in an outermost stitch

In this DROPS video we show how we increase in an outermost stitch. First, we show how we increase before the maker-thread, then after the marker-thread. How to do an Italian bind off with Knit 1 and Purl 1

In this DROPS video we show how to do an Italian bind off to a rib with knit 1 / purl 1 by sewing the bind off edge with needle and thread. With this technique we get an elastic bind off that is perfect for example on toe up socks, edge around neck, a shawl edge or sleeve edges when working top down. Cut yarn long enough for your bind off, approx 3-4 times the length of the edge you are binding off. Part 1: Start from the right side (the first stitch should be a knit stitch). Insert the needle into the 1st stitch as if to knit, lift the stitch off the needle, insert the needle into the 2nd stitch on the left needle (= knit stitch) as if to purl. Pull the thread through these 2 stitches (= 1 stitch bind off). How to work German Short Rows – with a double stitch round on the needle

German short rows = The work is turned in the middle of a row. When working short rows, there will be a small hole - this can be closed by tightening the thread or using the German short row technique. Row 4 (= wrong side): Slip the 1st stitch from the left needle as if to purl, have the thread at the front towards you, place the thread over the right needle and tighten the thread well before purling the next stitch = the first stitch on the right needle has now become a double stitch.
