How to sew a shoulder seam

In this DROPS video, you’ll learn how to sew a shoulder seam. To make the process clear and easy to follow, we use a contrasting color for the seam. Simply sew along the cast-off edges for the best results. We use the yarn DROPS Air in the video. How to sew the seam under raglan sleeve (Kitchener sts, grafting, weaving).

In this DROPS video we show two ways of how to sew together the hole under the sleeves in a jumper/jacket with raglan. First, we show how to sew together so we get an invisible seam. Remember not to tighten the thread and sew from RS. Stitches should be same size as the knitted stitches. At thicker yarn it avoids that it becomes a thick seam on the back. Then we show how to sew together by sewing together the seam in the inner loops of edge sts. You get a thicker stitching on the outside, but it will not show up when it comes under arm. How to sew invisible grafting stitches

In this DROPS video we show how you can sew invisible grafting stitches on a knitted garment. This is a perfect technique for e.g. a shoulder seam. Sew from RS. How to sew a folded hem

In this DROPS video we show how to sew a basic folded edge. We purl 1 row seen from RS, and this row is where we do the fold and from where all length measures in pattern are measured. So knit a couple of cm/ an inch in stockinette st then P 1 right side row, then continue in stockinette or what patterns tells. Afterward fold the bottom edge to inside and sew with neat sts. Mattress stitches

A common way of seaming together side-to-side pieces - like side seams on sweaters. In the video we use a contrasting color yarn so it's easy to see what we are doing. If the tail from casting on is long enough use it to seam. Mattress stitching is done in the space between the edge stitch and the stitch next to it. Lay the pieces side by side with the right side facing you. Pull the edge stitch slightly away from the stitch next to it so that you can see the bar between the edge st and the next st. Insert your yarn needle under the bar. Pull the yarn through the bar and then insert the needle under the bar on the other piece. Work back and forth, inserting the needle under the bar on one piece then the other piece. After every other inch you can pull the yarn in the direction of the seam and the pieces will be joined with an invisible seam.

How to sew invisible grafting / kitchener stitch in the bind off edge from wrong side

In this DROPS video we show how to sew an invisible seam in the bind off edge from wrong side (same technique can also be used when sewing cast on and cast off edge together). Put the pieces with the wrong side together, edge to edge. Fasten the thread by sewing the two corners together twice. Put the needle in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch on the first piece (down and up), then sew in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch on the second piece (down and up), continue sewing every other part, down and up. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video.

Knit two parts together with an invisible seam. Perfect for the top of the toes on a sock, shoulders etc. Have your sts on each needle with right sides out. Working yarn attached in the back piece. Following 4 steps are being repeated: 1. go purl-wise into first st on front needle, pull yarn through, lift st off needle 2. go knit-wise into next st on front needle, pull yarn through (leave st on needle) 3. go knit wise into first st on back needle, pull yarn through, lift st off needle 4. go purl-wise into next st on back needle, pull yarn through (leave st on needle)

Sew together pieces knit in garter

This is how we sew together two pieces to make an invisible seam. Sew 1 stitch through the bump, and then one stitch between bumps, sew back and forth from the right side of work.

How to sew together bind off edge in garter stitches

In this DROPS video we show 2 ways to sew together a piece worked in garter stitches. Fold the piece, RS against RS and sew the bind off edge together in the outermost loop so the seam is flat. 1. Insert the needle in the outermost loop of first stitch towards you then into the outermost loop of first stitch away from you then into the outermost loop of the next stitch away from you and into the outermost loop of next stitch towards you and repeat this. Assembly: How to set in sleeve in a jumper in stockinette

How to sew the jumper in DROPS 183-13 together

In this DROPS video we show you how to sew the jumper in DROPS 183-13 together. We have already sewn one sleeve to the front and back piece and underarm and side seams. How to set a sleeve to a yoke / body

In this DROPS video we show how it is thought that a sleeve will be sewn to a yoke/body so that it matches a measurement chart. Follow the pattern, whether it is knitted from above or from below. Cast on or bind off stitches for armholes, read the pattern / see measurement chart. Work the sleeve around to the stated measurements, then work back and forth to finished measurements. When the sleeve and body are sewn together make sure that the marks on sleeves fit bottom of armhole. We use the yarn DROPS Nepal in the video. How to assembly a sleeve to a front piece

In this DROPS video we show how to assembly a sleeve to a front piece with garter stitch edge. Lay the sleeves under the garter stitch edge along the armholes and sew neatly from the right side (there should not be a loose edge after sewing; sew in the outermost garter stitch from the right side so the edge lies neatly outside the sleeve). How to sew bands together and how to sew them to the neckline

In this DROPS video, we show how we sew 2 bands together and then sew them to the neckline behind the neck. Sew the bands together with small stitches edge to edge so that there will not be a thick seam. How assembly a double neck edge on the inside of a garment

In this DROPS video we show how to sew a rib / neck edge on the inside of a garment. Work the rib / neck edge as it is written in a pattern and when assembly fold the rib at the top of neck down on the inside of garment. Fasten rib but to avoid a tight neck edge and avoiding the edge to tip outwards, it is important to make the seam elastic. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in this video

How to assemble a slipper in DROPS Extra 0-900

In this DROPS video we show how a slipper looks when it is finished knitted, where it is to be sewn and where to pick up stitches / knit 2 rows to the opening to the foot. The picture of the slippers in the video are knitted in DROPS Big Delight, but in video we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow. We use a different stitch number than the pattern, but the shape is roughly the same, so you have to read the pattern to be able to follow this video properly.
