Crochet: Skull

In this DROPS video we show how to work a skull. ROUND 1: Work 11 ch and form a ring with 1 sl st, crochet 11 new ch and finish with 1 sl st in same ch as the other sl st = 8 form. ROUND 2: ch 1, 18 sc in first ch-ring, then 18 sc in the second ch-ring and finish with 1 sl st in the ch in beg of round. ROUND 3: ch 3, 1 dc in each of the first 4 sc, then work as follows in every sc, , 3 hdc, 4 sc, 1 hdc, 3 dc, ch 6, skip over 6 sc ( 3 sc on each side of the eyes), 3 dc, 1 hdc, 4 sc, 3 hdc, 4 dc and finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round. ROUND 4: ch 3, now crochet in each stitch, 3 dc, 4 hdc, 4 sc, 2 hdc and 2 dc *. Work 4 dc around ch space, continue to crochet in each stitch as follows: 2 dc, 2 hdc, 4 sc, 4 hdc, 3 dc and finish with 1 sl st in 3rd from beg of round. Cut the thread. Turn the piece upside down. Fasten the thread with a sc in 1st dc before the 4 dc which was crocheted around the ch space on round 4. (see * over ). Work 1 sc in the 2nd dc, 1 sc in 1st dc in ch space , ch 4, * 1 dc in next dc, 1 ch * repeat * - * 2 more times. Work ch 3, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, finish with 1 sl st in next st. Cut the thread.

Cob web: How to sew a cob web on a Halloween basket.

In this DROPS video we show how to sew a cob web to the Halloween basket in DROPS Extra 0-1171. COB WEB: Sew on cob web, see diagram A.1. First sew the vertical lines that go around the middle, then sew evenly, beg in first round with dc in green. Then sew the diagonal lines in 3 rounds. Beg the vertical lines with 1 stitch at the beg of round (- see arrow in diagram), sew 1 stitch in the middle of bottom, sew through edge, baste on the back, sew through edge, sew 1 stitch in the middle of bottom etc. the entire round - NOTE: Make sure that to avoid a tight yarn. Then sew the diagonal lines (= 3 round), sew 1 backstitches around each of the vertical lines in the crossing point to fasten the vertical lines. A crochet spider

SPIDER: The spider is worked in rows. Rotate the piece when working and work from RS the entire time. ROW 1: Work 7 ch. ROW 2: Work back in ch-row as follows: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, then work 1 hdc in next ch, 1 dc in next ch, 1 tr in next ch, 1 dtr in next ch and 1 dtr in last ch (= first st on ch-row from beg) and work 4 ch. Rotate the piece and work 1 sl st on the underside of last dtr (= 1st ch on ch-row from 1st row). The spider's body and head are done and continue to work 8 legs. ROW 3: Continue working along the underside of ch-row from 1st row as follows: 1 sl st in each of the next 2 sts, * ch 6, work back in ch-row, beg in 2nd ch from hook and work 1 sl st in each of the next 5 ch. Work 5 ch and work back in ch-row, beg in 2nd ch from hook and work 1 sl st in each of the next 4 ch * = leg 1 and 2. Then work 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts and repeat from *-* 1 time = leg 3 and 4. Work 1 sl st in next st, rotate the piece and work 2 sc in next st (= 7th ch from 1st row and mid front on the spider's body). ROW 4: Rotate the piece and work 1 sl st in next st (= 1st sc from 2nd row), * 5 ch and work back in ch-row, beg in 2nd ch from hook and work 1 sl st in each of the next 4 ch. Continue with 6 ch and work back in ch-row, beg in 2nd ch from hook and work 1 sl st in each of the next 5 ch * = leg 5 and 6. Then work 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts and repeat from *-* 1 time = leg 7 and 8. Then work 1 sl st in same st as last sc and 1 sl st in each of the next 2 sts. Cut the thread, pull it through and fasten tightly.

ROW 1: Work 7 ch. ROW 2: Work back in ch-row as follows: 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hook, 1 hdc in each of the next ch 2, 1 dc in each of the next ch 2, work ch 3, rotate the piece and work 1 sl st on the underside of last dc (= 1st ch on ch-row from 1st row). The fly's body and head are done and continue to make wings. ROW 3: Continue to work along the underside of ch-row from 1st row as follows: Work 1 sl st in next dc, switch to a different color and work 1 sl st in next hdc. Then work the wings as follows: * ch 3, 1 dc in same hdc, 1 dc in next hdc, ch 3, 1 sl st in same hdc *, work ch 3, rotate the piece and let the ch-row follow around to the back of the fly. ROW 4: Work 1 sl st on the underside of the last hdc worked on 3rd row and repeat from *-* 1 time. Cut and fasten the threads.

ROUND 5: 25 ch, * 1 dtr in next dtr from previous round, 20 ch *, repeat from *-* a total of 5 times and finish with 1 sl st in 5th ch from beg of round. ROUND 6: 32 ch, * 1 triple tr in next dtr from previous round, 26 ch *, repeat from *-* a total of 5 times and finish with 1 sl st in 6th ch from beg of round. ROUND 7: 38 ch, * 1 triple tr in next triple tr from previous round, 20 ch and work back in ch-row with 1 sl st in every ch, 32 ch *, repeat from *-* a total 5 times and finish with 1 sl st in 6th ch from beg of round, work 20 ch and work back in ch-row with 1 sl st in every ch. Finish with 1 sl st in 6th ch from beg of round. Fasten off.
