Toe on a knitted sock

Basic decrease for toe, one of many variations. We insert a marker each side with same number of sts on needles on upper and under foot. Then dec for toe on each side of both markers and 2 K sts each side as follows – beg 3 sts before end of needle in first side: slip 1 st, K1, pass slipped st over, place marker, K1, on next needle K1, K2 tog. Repeat the dec on each side of foot on every row as in video, or on every other row for a longer toe, until 8 sts left on needle. Cut the thread, pull through remaining sts and fasten.

How to decrease to a toe on a sock.

In this DROPS video we show you how to decrease the toe in the sock in DROPS 189-36. We have already inserted 1 marker in each side of the foot. Decrease to toe on each side of each marker as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker, knit 2 stitches twisted together, knit 2 (the marker sits in the middle of these 2 stitches) and knit 2 together, repeat at the second marker. Decrease like this every round until there are 8 stitches left, knit 2 and 2 stitches together on the next round = 4 stitches. Cut the strand and pull it through the stitches a couple of times, tighten and fasten well. These socks are knitted in DROPS Karisma, but in the video we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow. How to finish a knitted sock with big toe

In this DROPS video we show how we work the end of a sock with toe decrease and big toe. You need to read the pattern and your size to know how many stitches to put on a thread / stitch holder, how many stitches to put back on the needle, how many new stitches will be cast on, where the marks should be insert, how often to decreases and how many cm to work. How to work the slippers in DROPS 203-37

In this DROPS video we show how to work the “Carrot Squash” slippers in DROPS 203-37. We have already cast on stitches for size 35/37 = US 4.5/6.5 and start the video by showing round 1 (only Knit). Then the rib, K1, P1. After the rib put 31 stitches on a stitch holder, work the other stitches back and forth. Then work these stitches, the new pickup stitches along the sides and the stitches from the stitch holder, and work around again. Decrease stitches and work around to finish measurement, bind off and fold the slipper and sew under foot in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch. These slippers are worked in DROPS Snow, the same yarn we use in the video. You must read the pattern to be able to follow this video properly. How to work after charts to the socks in DROPS 229-20

In this DROPS video we show how we work after chart A.1 (flounces) and A.2 (lace pattern) to the “Kissing Kate” socks in DROPS 229-20. We show the beginning and end after chart A.1, and in chart A.2 we show round 3, 4, 9 and 10. We use less stitches than it says in the pattern. These socks are worked in DROPS Nord but in the video, we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow. You must read the pattern and look at the charts to be able to follow this video properly. How to start a sock with a flounce

In this DROPS video we show how to start a sock with a flounce, like the “Dainty Duo” socks in DROPS 229-19. We cast on with 2 strands, but continue with 1 strand. Then we knit 4 rounds and on the next round we knit all stitches together 2 by 2. Then we work a rib (knit 1 twisted/purl 1). These socks are worked in DROPS Fabel, but in the video, we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow. You must read a pattern with this technique to be able to follow this video properly. Felted Slippers crochet edge

In this video we show a slipper knitted in DROPS Polaris before and after felting. Place the slippers in the washing machine with a detergent without enzymes and optical bleach. Wash warm at 40C/104F with normal spin but no pre-wash. After wash shape the slippers into the right size while still wet and leave to dry flat. If the slippers are too small, put them in water until they are thoroughly wet, and then stretch to right size. At subsequent wash, wash the slippers at regular wool program. Socks with displacement and rib.

This video shows how to get the rib on the left sock to twist to the right. Insert 1 marker in a K (knit) stitch in each side of the sock according to the pattern. At the first st with marker dec on every round by slipping the K st , K the next st and pass the slipped stitch over. Continue rib with K over K and P over P until you get to the next marker in the other side. Now make a yo before the K st, and repeat on every round. On next round K YO twisted (i.e. work in the back loop of st) and make a new yo right before the K st with marker. We work several rounds to show the procedure and finally we show how it looks when you have worked about 20 rounds. In the pattern there are more sts on the sock than what we show in the video and therefore more stitches between the 2 markers.
