Weaving in tails in ribbing

Our sample is a 2 by 2 ribbing.
Always weave in your tails on the wrong side of your rib knitted piece.
With the needle and yarn go to the first section of K sts, weave through each stitch diagonal for 5-7 sts,
turn and go down through each st on the other side of the stitch.
As you can see with this method your weaved in tail will not show on your right side.

Crochet tip for fastening strands

In this DROPS video we show how to avoid sewing many strands after colour change. Work the first 2 stitches at beginning of every row with new colour with double yarn (same colour). Then place yarn end along stitches from previous row and work around it so that the yarn end is hidden inside the stitches. Weave in Cotton tails

Your knitted or crochet work is finished and you need to weave in the tails... When using a cotton yarn, especially when it's thicker, it can be tricky. The tails will show and also may come out again when washing and wearing. A great trick is to split the strand into multiple thinner strands and then sew these thinner strands away in different directions. This usually comes out invisible and will not come undone. How to weave in end when working a new color in the round

When knitting with multiple colors or when just changing from one to another color, you can weave in the end as you continue with the new color. When you start the new color you want to make sure to twist the loose end around your previous color to avoid a hole, then place the working yarn behind the tail, and pick up the yarn alternating above and under the tail end to weave it in. Weave for about 4-6 sts and then you can cut the remaining tail. This way you don't have to fasten the threads at the end.

How to increase 2 stitches to 4 stitches – back and forth

In this DROPS video we show how to increase 2 stitches to 4 stitches. We show the increases twice and how the increases stitches are worked in the next row. Knit 2 together but do not slip the stitches from the left needle, make 1 yarn over, knit 1 through the back loop of each of the same 2 stitches on the left needle, then slip the stitches off the left needle = 2 stitches have become 4 stitches (yarn over is purled twisted on next row to avoid a hole).
