Hi, I think there is a mistake in the following statement "When the piece measures 35-36-37-38-39 cm = 13 3/4”-14 1/4”-14 1/2”-15”-15 1/4” bind off for armhole each side on every other row as follows: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 0-0-0-1-2 times and 1 st 0-1-2-2-2- times = 29-30-32-32-33 sts." If we look at the medium size will have to bind off 3 sts each side one time and then 1 sts each side one time, that gives 6+2 = 8 sts less and so 36-8=28 sts. Can you confirm please? Thank you.
21.11.2019 - 15:37DROPS Design answered:
Dear Simona, you start in size M with 34 sts and increase 2 sts on each side a total of 2 times (= when piece measures 12 cm = 4 3/4" + when it measures 24 cm = 9 1/2") so that there are 34+2+2= 38 sts. You cast off 3 sts on each side = 32 sts remain then dec 1 st on each side = 30 sts remain. Happy knitting!

Hi Could you please give me bust measurements for your M, L, and XL sizes in the 95-11 cardigan? I'm not sure which size to knit. Thanks Elizabeth
26.06.2017 - 06:00DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Conway, you will find at the bottom of the pattern a measurement chart with all measurements in each size taken flat from side to side (in cm). Compare these to a similar garment you have and like the shape to find out the matching size. Read more here. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot !

Knitting Gauge: 8 sts x 12 rows on needles size 10 mm = US 15 in stockinette sts. = 10 x 10 cm = 4" x 4". Increasing tips (for the side): Inc inside the seam sts as follows: Make a yo. On the next row twist the yo 1 time and K it. Bind off tips (for the neck shape): Bind off inside the 3 edge sts. All bind off’s to be done from the right side. Bind off as follows after the 3 edge sts: Slip a st as if to knit, K1, psso. Bind off before the 3 edge sts: K2 tog. Back piece: Cast on 31-34-38-42-47 sts on needles size 10 mm = US 15 in Inka. Knit 2 rows in garter sts (1st row = right side) and continue in stockinette sts but keep knitting the outer most st at each side in garter sts until the armhole. At the same time when the piece measures 12 cm = 4¾" inc. 1 st each side – see inc. tips above. Repeat the inc. when the piece measures 24 cm = 9½" = 35-38-42-46-51 sts. When the piece measures 35-36-37-38-39 cm = 13¾"-14¼"-14½"-15"-15¼" bind off for armhole each side on every other row as follows: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 0-0-0-1-2 times and 1 st 0-1-2-2-2- times = 29-30-32-32-33 sts. When the piece measures 50-52-54-56-58 cm = 19¾"-20½"-21¼"-22"-22¾" – make sure the next row is from the wrong side – knit 2 rows of garter sts over the center 15-16-16-16-17 sts (continue to knit the other sts in stockinette sts). Bind off the center 9-10-10-10-11 sts in K from the wrong side. Continue to bind off 1 st on the next row on each neck side – see bind off tips above = 9-9-10-10-10 sts left for each shoulder. Bind off remaining sts when the piece measures 54-56-58-60-62 cm = 21¼"-22"-22¾"-23⅝"-24⅜". Left front: Cast on 8-9-9-10-11 sts on needles size 10 mm = US 15 with INKA. Knit 2 rows in garter sts (1st row = right side) and continue in stockinette sts. At the same time cast on new sts for the center front on every other row (i.e. at the end of each row towards the center) NB: Keep knitting the outer most st at the side in garter sts until the armhole - as done for the back piece - and the outer most sts at the center front up to the neck shaping. Cast on 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1-1-2-2-3 times and 1 st 3-3-3-4-4 times. Side increases: At the same time when the piece measures 12 and 24 cm = 4¾" and 9½" inc 1 st as done for the back piece. Sloping front edge: At the same time when the piece measures 19-20-22-23-25 cm = 7½"-8"-8¾"-9"-9¾" inc. at the center front edge (inc in the outermost st on the row – remember to knit the outer 3 sts in garter sts). Inc. on every 4th row as follows: 1 st 3 times and hereafter on every 6th row: 1 st 3 times. Armhole: At the same time when the piece measures 35-36-37-38-39 cm = 13¾"-14¼"-14½"-15"-15¼" bind off for armhole as done for the back piece. After all inc. and bind off’s there are 21-21-22-22-23 sts left. Neck shaping: When finished with the last inc. for the sloping front edge (the piece measures approx 42-43-45-46-48 cm = 16½"-17"-17¾"-18"-19") knit the next row from the right side as follows: Knit in stockinette sts, but P the outermost 11-11-11-11-12 sts towards mid front. On the next row bind off the outermost center 8-8-8-8-9 sts for neck. Continue to bind off on the neckline on every other row – see bind off tips – as follows: 1 st 4 times = 9-9-10-10-10- sts left for the shoulder. Continue in stockinette sts and 3 garter sts at the neck side until the piece measures 54-56-58-60-62 cm = 21¼"-22"-22¾"-23⅝"-24⅜". Bind off remaining sts. Right front: Knit as left front, but reverse. 1 button hole = K sts 2 & 3 at the center front tog. and make a yo. On the next knit into back of yo (in order the buttonhole doesn't become too big). Make the buttonholes as follows: Size S: 32 - 41 cm = 12½" – 16⅛" Size M: 33 - 42 cm = 13" – 16½" Size L: 35 – 44 cm = 13¾" – 17¼" Size XL: 36 - 45 cm = 14¼" – 17¾" Size XXL: 38 – 47 cm = 15" – 18½" Sleeve: Cast on 18-19-20-21-22 sts on needles size 10 mm = US 15 with INKA. Knit in garter sts until the piece measures 6 cm = 2⅜" and continue in stockinette sts (with a seam sts each side in garter sts up to the sleeve cap). At the same time when the piece measures 12 cm = 4¾" inc. as follows: 1 sts on every 8-8-8-6-5.5 cm = 3⅛"-3⅛"-3⅛"-2⅜"-2⅛" a total of 5-5-5-6-6 times = 28-29-30-33-34 sts. When the piece measures 48-47-46-45-43 cm bind off for sleeve cap each side on every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 0-0-1-1-1 time, 1 sts 2-2-2-2-3 time. Continue to bind off 2 sts each side until the piece measures 54-54-54-55-55 cm = 21¼"-21¼"-21¼"-21⅝"-21⅝". Then bind off each side 3 sts 1 time. When the piece measures 56-56-56-57-57 cm = 22"-22"-22"-22½"-22½" bind off the remaining sts. Knit the other sleeve. Assembly: Sew shoulders seams. Sew in the sleeves. Sew the sleeve and the side seams in the outer part of the most outer st so there will be 2 K sts against each other along the seam. Sew in the buttons and then sew in a "help button" at the top of the left front piece, so the front edge doesn’t "fall" down (crochet a loop for the help button on the wrong side of the right front). Crochet edge: At last crochet with hook size 10 mm = US N/15 in INKA along the opening - back as well as front. Crochet as follows: 1 sc in 1st. st, *1 ch, skip 2.5 cm = 1", 1 sc in the next st* repeat from *-* and finish with a ch and a sl st in the 1st sc from the beginning. NB: Make sure the edge is tight. |
