yo (yarn over)
With a yarn over you can create a decorative hole.
In the video we show 2 times how you increase 1 stitch by making a yarn over (yo)
Halfway through the video we have turned the work and show you how to work the yo in front or back loop depending if you prefer a larger or smaller hole. When working the back loop the stitch becomes twisted and this way the hole becomes a bit smaller.

Dear Mrs Hammond, even if you work with the yarn in the right hand, it shouldn't be a problem, when working the English rib, just look in the video where the yarn is towards needle tip;: you need to have a yarn over worked over each slipped stitch. To make the false raglan you have to increase with a yarn over before 1st marker and after 4th marker and on the same row decrease after 2nd and before 3rd marker. If the increases with a yarn over is a problem for you, try any other technique to increase if it sounds easier for you. Hope this will help! Happy knitting! 02.09.2021 - 09:29

Dear Mrs Faust, on first row in A.1 you decrease sts in A.2 and in A.3 t then from row 3 you will make 1 yarn over in A.1 but A.1 should be always worked over 5 sts, this mean the last st in A.1 will now below to A.2 (where you will decrease 2 sts and make 2 yarn overs) and in A.3 you will decrease 2 sts and make 1 yarn over, this means that the number of yarn overs is compensate by the number of sts decreased in A.2/A.3 - make just sure there are always the same number of sts in each diagram (inserting markers between each repeat). Bonjour Nathalie, quand vous faites un jeté après 1 m end et avant 1 m env, tricotez la m end, passez le fil 1 x autour de l'aiguille et tricotez la m suivante à l'envers. Pour faire un jeté après une m env et avant une m endroit, tricotez la m env, laissez le fil devant l'ouvrage et tricotez la m suivante à l'end, le fil va se mettre automatiquement autour de l'aiguille et former le jeté. Bonjour Patricia, si vous tenez le fil dans la main droite, après 1 m end, le fil est derrière l'ouvrage, ramenez-le devant, puis entourez-le autour de l'aiguille droite pour qu'il soit de nouveau devant et prêt pour tricoter la m envers = le fil doit être enroulé 1 seule fois autour de l'aiguille droite. Hallo, In het telpatroon aster 194-4 staat: voor de meerdering: 1 recht steek, maak omslag. Brei op de volgende naald de omslag gedraaid averecht. Hoe wordt deze omslag gebreid. Het betreft een symbooltje getekend een vierkantje met een rondje erin. Precies in het midden van het telpatroon. Is dat anders dan een omslag tussen twee steken?
