On the wrong side you bind off the same way as from the right side, but the stitches are purled before they are passed over each other. When 1 stitch remains, cut the thread, and pull yarn through last stitch.

Bonjour Linda, je suppose que vous parlez des mailles à rabattre en haut des manches? Vous devez alors rabattre 2 fois 2 m de chaque côté (= 2 m au début des 4 rangs suivants), puis 2 mailles de chaque côté (sur l'endroit mais aussi sur l'envers) jusqu'à ce que la manche mesure 51 cm (dans votre exemple). Pour plus de sécurité, n'hésitez pas à nous indiquer le modèle concerné pour la suite, mais c'est généralement ainsi que le haut des manches est construit. Bon tricot!

Liebe Sweta, ketten Sie in jedem Fall in einer Musterreihe ab, in der keine Maschen zusammengestrickt werden. Sie können je nach Modell auch in einer zusätzlichen Reihe abketten.

In this DROPS video we show one way to bind off with yarn over so that you get an elastic edge. We show both how we bind off over knit stitch and purl stitch. Knit the 1st stitch, make a yarn over, but an opposite yarn over (from back to front), knit the next stitch = 2 stitches + 1 yarn over on the right needle. With the left needle lift the yarn over and the 1st worked stitch over the last stitch = 1 stitch on the right needle. When you bind off your knitting the very last stitch tend to get loose and ugly. In this DROPS Video we show a trick to avoid this.

When there is a rib edge we usually say in the pattern to bind off in rib. It may be a single ribbing K1/P1, or double K2/P2, the later is what we are showing in this video. First continental style and towards the end off row we switch to US style. K the K sts, and P the P sts as you bind off by passing next to last st worked over the last st worked.

To avoid the bind off edge being too tight make a yo periodically at the same time you bind off. Bind off yo as sts.

You bind off to lock stitches that no longer will be worked to stop them from running. You also bind off stitches to shape arm holes, neck and shoulders. The bind off should neither be too firm or too hard, e.g. you need to be able to get the sweater over your head. To prevent binding off to firm you can use a larger needle then what you have used during your knitting. Binding off with knit stitches, you knit the stitches and then keep passing the next to last knitted stitch over the last knitted stitch. When 1 stitch remains, cut the thread, and pull yarn through last stitch.

How to turn 1 strand into 3 from the same ball of yarn

In this DROPS video we how to make 3 strands out of 1 single strand from a ball of yarn. 1. Make a simple loop (like the loop worked when you begin any crochet project) and pull it to approx. 2-3 cm = ¾"-1⅛" in length. 2. Thread the strand from the skein through this loop, creating a new loop of approx. 40-50 cm = 15¾"-19¾". 3. Lay this loop alongside the working strand, so 1 strand becomes 3 strands. 4. Knit or crochet using these 3 strands until there is approx. 2 cm = ¾" left. Repeat points 2 to 4.
