Kysyin aiemmin, kummin päin reunasilmukka neulotaan nurjalla puolella. Kiitos vastauksesta. Päädyin kysymyksen jälkeen kokeilemaan neuloa sen molemmin päin ja mielestäni sitä ei kuulu neuloa nurin, sillä silloin lopputuloksena ei ole siisti i-crod-reuna.

Hei, Kaipaisin taas neuvoa: Nappilistan i-cord-reunuksen ohjeistus on hieman hämmentävä.

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH: Knit all rows, from both the right and wrong side. 1 ridge in height = knit 2 rows. BANDS WITH I-CORD: BEGINNING OF ROW: Work the band as follows (7 stitches): Slip 1 stitch purl-wise with yarn in front, knit 1, work 5 GARTER STITCHES – read explanation above. END OF ROW: Work the band as follows (7 stitches): Work until there are 7 stitches left on the row, work 5 garter stitches, slip 1 stitch purl-wise with yarn in front, knit 1. Work like this from both the right and wrong side. BUTTONHOLES: Work the buttonholes on the right band (when the garment is worn) from the right side, when there are 5 stitches left on the row as follows: ROW 1 (right side): Make 1 yarn over, knit 2 together, knit 1, slip 1 stitch purl-wise with the strand in front, knit 1. ROW 2 (wrong side): Work the band as before, knitting the yarn over to leave a hole. The first buttonhole is worked on the first row from the right side after the neck-border is finished. Then work the other 6-6-6-6-7-7-7 buttonholes with 7-7½-8-8-7-7-7½ cm = 2¾"-2⅞"-3⅛"-3⅛"-2¾"-2¾"-2⅞" between each one. The bottom buttonhole is worked in the transition between the stockinette stitch and rib. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.3. The diagrams show the pattern from the right side. RAGLAN: All increases are worked from the right side! Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over, which is worked as follows on the next row: BEFORE RAGLAN-STITCHES (the yarn over twists to the left): Purl through the stitch loop that lies on the back of the needle (avoids a hole). Continue the new stitches in stockinette stitch. AFTER RAGLAN-STITCHES (the yarn over twists to the right): Slip the yarn over from the left needle to the right needle purl-wise, then replace it by inserting the left needle through the back (the yarn over is the other way round). Purl through the stitch loop that lies on the front of the needle (avoids a hole). Continue the new stitches in stockinette stitch. INCREASE TIP: When increasing evenly on the first round of rib, it is important to increase in the stitches that will subsequently be purled, so the knitted stitches continue neatly from the stockinette stitch. SLEEVE TIP: When knitting up stitches under the sleeve, you can get a small hole in the transition between stitches on the body and sleeve. This hole can be closed by picking up the strand between 2 stitches and working this strand twisted together with the first stitch between body and sleeve. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (2 stitches decreased). ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JACKET – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE. The pattern uses both long and short needles; start with the length which fits the number of stitches and change when necessary. The neck and yoke are worked back and forth with circular needle, from mid front and top down while increasing for raglan. When the yoke is finished, it is divided for body and sleeves and the body continued back and forth, while the sleeves wait. The sleeves are worked in the round, top down. If there is a «0» in your chosen size, skip the information and go straight to the next instruction. NECK: Cast on 119-119-121-127-135-137-141 stitches with circular needle size 2.5 MM = US 1.5 and DROPS Karisma or DROPS Saga. Purl 1 row from the wrong side. Work the next row as follows from the right side: 7 stitches according to BANDS WITH I-CORD – read explanation above, work rib (knit 1 and purl 1) until there are 8 stitches left, knit 1 and work 7 stitches according to bands with I-cord. Continue this rib for 3-3-3-3½-3½-4-4 cm = 1⅛"-1⅛"-1⅛"-1¼"-1¼"-1½"-1½", finishing after a row from the right side. Now work a neck-border with bands on each side as follows: ROW 1 (wrong side): The stitch count is doubled (does not apply to the bands): Work the band as before, * Purl 1, make 1 yarn over *, work from *-* until there are 7 stitches left, work the band as before = 224-224-228-240-256-260-268 stitches. ROW 2 (right side): Work the band as before, * Slip the yarn over on to the right needle without working it, when slipping stitch insert the right needle in the stitch as to purl it with yarn in front of piece, knit 1 *, work from *-* until there are 7 stitches left, work the band as before. ROW 3 (wrong side): Work the band as before, * Slip the next stitch on to the right needle without working it, when slipping stitch insert the right needle in the stitch as to purl it with yarn in front of piece, knit 1 *, work from *-* until there are 7 stitches left, work the band as before. ROW 4 (right side): Work the band as before, * slip the next stitch on to the right needle without working it, when slipping stitch insert the right needle in the stitch as to purl it with yarn in front of piece, knit 1 *, work from *-* until there are 7 stitches left, work the band as before. ROW 5 (wrong side): The stitch count is halved (does not apply to the bands): Work the band as before, * knit 2 together*, work from *-* until there are 7 stitches left, work the band as before = 119-119-121-127-135-137-141 stitches. After the neck-border, insert 1 marker inside one band (mid-front); the piece is now measured from here. YOKE: Change to circular needle size 4 MM = US 6. Insert 8 markers, without working the stitches and the markers inserted on each side of 4 stitches which will be increased to 6 stitches on the first row. The 6 stitches are the raglan-stitches and you increase for raglan on each side of them. The raglan-stitches are worked in PATTERN – read explanation above. Count 19-19-19-21-21-21-21 stitches (= left front piece), insert marker-1 before the next stitch, count 4 stitches (= raglan-stitches), insert marker-2 before the next stitch, count 21-21-21-21-25-25-27 stitches (= sleeve), insert marker-3 before the next stitch, count 4 stitches (= raglan-stitches), insert marker-4 before the next stitch, count 23-23-25-27-27-29-29 stitches (= back piece), insert marker-5 before the next stitch, count 4 stitches (= raglan-stitches), insert marker-6 before the next stitch, count 21-21-21-21-25-25-27 stitches (= sleeve), insert marker-7 before the next stitch, count 4 stitches (= raglan-stitches), insert marker-8 before the next stitch. There are 19-19-19-21-21-21-21 stitches left (= right front piece). Continue stockinette stitch and 7 band-stitches on each side, working pattern across the raglan-stitches. AT THE SAME TIME, increase for RAGLAN on each side of the raglan-stitches – read explanation above for how to increase, as follows: ROW 1 (right side): Work the band as before, knit 12-12-12-14-14-14-14, increase 1 stitch for raglan, work A.1 between markers 1 and 2, increase 1 stitch for raglan, knit 21-21-21-21-25-25-27 (= sleeve), increase 1 stitch for raglan, work A.1 between markers 3 and 4, increase 1 stitch for raglan, knit 23-23-25-27-27-29-29 (= back piece), increase 1 stitch for raglan, work A.1 between markers 5 and 6, increase 1 stitch for raglan, knit 21-21-21-21-25-25-27 (= sleeve), increase 1 stitch for raglan, work A.1 between markers 7 and 8, increase 1 stitch for raglan, knit 12-12-12-14-14-14-14 and work the band as before – remember to work the first BUTTONHOLE – read explanation above = 135-135-137-143-151-153-157 stitches. ROW 2 (wrong side): Continue the bands, stockinette stitch and pattern – remember to work the yarn overs as described under RAGLAN. A.1 is now finished. ROW 3 (right side): Continue the bands, stockinette stitch and pattern, but now work A.2 between markers 1 and 2 and markers 3 and 4 and work A.3 between markers 5 and 6 and markers 7 and 8. In addition increase for raglan on each side of the raglan-stitches (8 increased stitches). ROW 4 (wrong side): Continue the bands, stockinette stitch and pattern – working the yarn overs twisted as before. Work ROWS 3 and 4 a total of 8-12-17-23-22-22-18 times (18-26-36-48-46-46-38 rows worked after the neck-border) = 199-231-273-327-327-329-301 stitches. Remember to maintain the knitting gauge. Now increase for raglan as follows: ROW 1 (right side): Continue the bands, stockinette stitch and pattern and increase for raglan on each side of the raglan-stitches (8 increased stitches). ROW 2 (wrong side): Continue the bands, stockinette stitch and pattern (yarn overs worked twisted as before). ROW 3 (right side): Continue the bands, stockinette stitch and pattern and increase for raglan only on the front and back pieces, i.e., increase BEFORE markers 1 and 5 and AFTER markers 4 and 8 – do not increase on the sleeves (4 increased stitches). ROW 4 (wrong side): Continue the bands, stockinette stitch and pattern (yarn overs worked twisted as before). Work ROWS 1 to 4 a total of 10-9-7-5-7-8-12 times (40-36-28-20-28-32-48 rows worked: 10-9-7-5-7-8-12 increases in height on the sleeves and 20-18-14-10-14-16-24 increases in height on the front and back pieces). All increases for raglan are finished and the yoke measures approx. 21-22-23-24-26-28-31 cm = 8¼"-8¾"-9"-9½"-10¼"-11"-12¼" from the marker mid-front. A total of 19-22-25-29-30-31-31 increases in height on the sleeves and 29-31-32-34-37-39-43 increases in height on the front and back pieces = 319-339-357-387-411-425-445 stitches. Now divide for the body and sleeves. DIVIDE FOR BODY AND SLEEVES When dividing, the raglan-stitches will be on the front and back pieces. Work the first 55-58-60-65-69-72-76 stitches as before (= front piece), place the next 57-61-65-71-75-75-77 stitches on a stitch holder/thread for the sleeve, cast on 10-12-14-16-18-22-26 stitches (mid-under the sleeve), work the next 95-101-107-115-123-131-139 stitches (= back piece), place the next 57-61-65-71-75-75-77 stitches on a stitch holder/thread for the sleeve, cast on 10-12-14-16-18-22-26 stitches (mid-under the sleeve), work the last 55-58-60-65-69-72-76 stitches as before (= front piece). The body and sleeves are finished separately. BODY: = 225-241-255-277-297-319-343 stitches. Continue the bands, stockinette stitch and pattern until the piece measures 43-45-47-49-49-51-53 cm = 17"-17¾"-18½"-19¼"-19¼"-20"-21" from the marker mid-front. NOTE: The cast-on stitches under each sleeve are worked in stockinette stitch. On the next row from the right side, begin the rib as follows. AT THE SAME TIME increase 42-48-50-58-60-70-72 stitches evenly on the first row – read INCREASE TIP (do not increase across the bands) = 267-289-305-335-357-389-415 stitches: Change to circular needle size 2.5 MM = US 1.5. Work the band as before, rib (knit 1 and purl 1 – remember to increase; you should increase 1 stitch in both A.2 and A.3 so the rib fits the pattern neatly), until there are 8 stitches left, knit 1 and work the band as before. When the rib measures 4-4-4-4-5-5-5 cm = 1½"-1½"-1½"-1½"-2"-2"-2", bind off with knit above knit and purl above purl, or work Italian bind-off. The jacket measures approx. 47-49-51-53-54-56-58 cm = 18½"-19¼"-20"-21"-21¼"-22"-22¾" from the marker mid-front and 52-54-56-58-60-62-64 cm = 20½"-21¼"-22"-22¾"-23⅝"-24⅜"-25¼" from the shoulder. SLEEVES: Place the 57-61-65-71-75-75-77 sleeve-stitches from one thread/stitch holder onto circular needle size 4 MM = US 6 and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 10-12-14-16-18-22-26 cast-on stitches under the sleeve – read SLEEVE TIP = 67-73-79-87-93-97-103 stitches. Insert a marker-thread in the middle of the 10-12-14-16-18-22-26 new stitches under the sleeve. The round starts by the marker-thread. Work stockinette stitch in the round. AT THE SAME TIME, after 1 round, decrease mid-under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP as follows: Decrease 2 stitches 2-2-2-2-3-3-3 times every 2nd round, then 2 stitches 0-2-4-7-8-9-11 times every 2 cm = ¾" = 63-65-67-69-71-73-75 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 38-38-38-37-35-34-32 cm = 15"-15"-15"-14½"-13¾"-13⅜"-12½" from the division. Change to double pointed needles size 2.5 MM = US 1.5. Work rib (knit 1 and purl 1), AT THE SAME TIME increase 17-17-17-19-19-19-21 stitches evenly on the first round = 80-82-84-88-90-92-96 stitches. When the rib measures 6-6-6-6-7-7-7 cm = 2⅜"-2⅜"-2⅜"-2⅜"-2¾"-2¾"-2¾", bind off with rib or work Italian bind-off. The sleeve measures approx. 44-44-44-43-42-41-39 cm = 17¼"-17¼"-17¼"-17"-16½"-16⅛"-15¼" from the division. ASSEMBLY: Sew the buttons onto the left band. |
