Working in rib gives an elastic piece that is great for cuffs and edges.
It’s important that all knitted stitches comes above knitted stitches, and all purled stitches come above the purled stitches. In the video we are knitting 1 and purling 1 (K1, P1).
1st row (RS): K1, P1, continue like this until end of row, turn.
2nd row (WS): P1 above P1, K1 above K1. Continue like this until end of row, turn.
Repeat 1st and 2nd row until rib has desired measure in height.

Hi, dankjewel voor de tip! Dat is inderdaad ook een oplossing die ik heb geprobeerd, door gedraaid recht te breien. Maar nu ga ik een trui met patent steek maken en dan is het mooier als de rechte steken er meer hetzelfde uit zien. Is er niet iets waar ik op kan letten, een moment waarop ik juist even extra moet aantrekken of juist niet? Ik heb dit wel geprobeerd, maar ik kom er gewoon niet zo goed achter waardoor de steken nou zo wijd worden, aan de achterkant zijn de v’tjes wel mooi strak.

Nee er is verder niet iets waar je qua draadspanning op zou kunnen letten. Het heeft soms ook heel erg te maken met het type garen. Bij zacht en los garen staan de v-tjes altijd wat meer open dan bijvoorbeeld bij katoen.

Dag Fleur,

Ik snap wat je bedoeld. Je zou de rechte steken van de boordsteken gedraaid kunnen breien, dus de naald in de achterste lus van de steek steken. De rechte steken hebben dan een wat meer uitgesproken karakter. (Op de verkeerde kant moet je dan ook de averechte steken gedraaid breien.)

Hoi Katrien, Een rechte steek op de goede kant is een averechte steek op de verkeerde kant en vice versa, vandaar dat je eindigt met een averechte steek, keert en dan weer op de andere kant begint met een rechte steek.

Hoi Daisy. Er zijn meerdere manieren om te meerderen. Je moet de versie kiezen, die je zelf het mooiste en beste vindt. Zoek hier op video's met meerderingen en test een paar mogelijkheden.

Hallo zeg! Dit gaat veel te snel De manier van treinen is ook heel anders als ik doe. Het is vast hetzelfde resultaat maar ik vouw het draad anders als ik vouw1 recht brei. Dtone lijkt een versneldemmanier van breien en gaat me veel te snel. Ik zie niet wat ze doet!

In this DROPS video we show how to work an easy and nice texture pattern, such as the rib to the Rose Blush vest in DROPS 212-44. Work like this: From RS: Work 3 edge stitches in garter stitch, * 2 stitches in stockinette stitch , 2 stitches in garter stitch *, work from *-* until there are 5 stitches left, 2 stitches in stockinette stitch and finish with 3 edge stitches in garter stitch. From WS: Work 3 edge stitches in garter stitch, * 2 stitches in stockinette stitch , 2 stitches in garter stitch *, work from *-* until there are 5 stitches left, 2 stitches in stockinette stitch and finish with 3 edge stitches in garter stitch. Shifted rib can shape a rib pattern or a whole garment. There are many ways to work shifted rib. Here we have decreased on each side of 6 sts in rib (as in DROPS 119-3), so that the piece is shaped in a little bow at the back of the back piece and the number of stitches are decreased. Once we start to knit no more sts should be dec, so therefore we will inc in each side on the same row as we are making the dec. Since we are inc just as many sts as we are dec, the number of sts will stay the same. Following the pattern we inc after 1st marker, dec before 2nd marker, dec after 3rd marker and inc before 4th marker - and this is done on each row worked from the right side. The sts that are inc with a yo shall be worked twisted on next row (i.e work in back loop) and also be worked into the rib pattern between markers. In pattern 119-3 you inc by making a yo, and dec by purling 2 sts tog. In other patterns we describe other inc and dec methods, but the idea of shifting the rib and shape the garment is the same.
