Bon tricot!

Please could drops designers make a modern cardigan or sweater using some of these beautiful motifs?!
13.03.2025 - 22:30DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sharon, we don't make custom patterns. Since these are simple colourwork motifs and have no increases or decreases you can use these motifs in any of our modern garments with colourwork motifs worked bottom up with set-in sleeves, by substituting the charts in those garments with the charts in this pattern. Just make sure that the number of stitches that you have is enough for the charts chosen or adjust to correctly center the charts, so that the discontinued motif is barely visible. Happy knitting!

I think that there may be an error in chart M2 -- based on the sweater picture, the colors marked red in the chart should actually be green, no?

Hi Thank you, you are right. This has now been corrected. Happy knitting!

Hvilket garn vil i anbefale? Jeg har kigget lidt på baby Merino. På forhånd tak
29.01.2018 - 17:04DROPS Design answered:
Hei Mette.

Bon tricot!

Knitting gauge: 23 sts x 30 rows on needle size 3.5 mm = US 4 and stockinette sts = 10 x 10 cm = 4" x 4" Edge: Knit 3 cm = 1⅛" stockinette sts, P1 round (= folding edge – measure piece from this point), 3 cm = 1⅛" stockinette sts. Pattern: Knit entire pattern in stockinette sts. Body: Knit sweater on circular needles and cut up for armhole afterwards. Cast on 232 (240) sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm = US 1,5 with navy and knit Edge. Change to circular needle size 3.5 mm = US 4 and stockinette sts at the same time inc 32 (48) sts evenly on 1st row = 264 (288) sts. Knit M.1, then with navy until piece measures 23 (24) cm = 9" (9½"). - Remember knitting gauge – ensure to place butterfly mid front body – continuing, knit pattern: (start at arrow and knit sts for front piece, start at arrow again and knit sts for back piece on all patterns) M.2, M.4, M.3 (but turn pattern repeat upside down), M.6, M.5 (but turn pattern repeat upside down) and then complete with navy. At the same time when piece measures 26 (27) cm = 10¼" (10⅝") inc 5 sts on each side for armhole (these sts are for knitting later and are not knit into pattern). When piece measures 51 (52) cm = 20" (20½") bind off middle 38 (40) sts for neck front and complete piece knitting back and forth on needle. Continuing, bind off towards neck on every other row 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1 time, 1 sts 2 times to shape neckline. When piece measures 55 (56) cm = 21⅝" (22") bind off middle 48 (50) sts for neck. Continuing, bind off 2 sts towards neck. Bind off when piece measures 56 (57) cm = 22" (22½") Sleeve: Cast on 54 (58) sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm = US 1,5 with navy and knit Edge. Change to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm = US 4 at the same time inc 14 (1o) sts evenly on 1st row = 68 (68) sts. Knit M.1. (place a pattern repeat mid sleeve.) At the same time inc mid under sleeve on each side of middle sts 1 sts 35 (36) times on every * 3rd and 4th rows * = 138 (140) sts. After M.1 continuing knit with navy until piece measures 24 (23) cm = 9½" (9"). Now complete piece as follows: M.2, M.4, M.3 (but turn pattern repeat upside down) and then complete with navy. When piece measures 49 (48-48) cm = 19¼" (19"-19") knit 2 cm = ¾" stockinette sts with WS out for folding edge over cutting edge of body. Assembly: Sew in a marking thread down the middle of inc sts on each side. Sew two seams on sewing machine around marking thread, 1st seam = 1/2 sts from 1st st from thread, 2nd seam = 1/2 sts from 1st seam. Cut up for armhole. Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx 110 sts around neck on needle size 2.5 mm = US 1,5 with navy and knit 2.5 mm = US 1,5 stockinette sts, change to red, 1 round stockinette sts, P1 round, 2.5 cm = ⅞" stockinette sts, bind off, fold towards WS and sew.
