In this Drops Video we show how to create an invisible join when starting your circular knitting.

Note! Cast on 1 additional stitch than what pattern tells you.
Join, making sure not to twist stitches on row.
Slip 1st stitch on left needle purl-wise over to right needle.
Slip the 2nd stitch on right needle over the 1st.

Move the slipped stitch back to left needle. Tighten yarn ends. Place a marker to mark beginning of the round and start knitting

Bonjour Mme Domenja, vous pouvez vous aider d'une autre aiguille sur laquelle vous allez glisser la dernière maille du tour puis vous reprendrez cette maille sur l'aiguille droite exactement comme dans la vidéo. Bon tricot!

Bonjour Mimine, en général on utilise une aiguille circulaire d'au moins 80 cm pour tricoter en magic loop - cette vidéo pourra probablement vous aider. Bon tricot!

Dear Aysen, the length of the tips is just a matter of preference. The circular needle should always be shorter than the circumference of the piece; if you are working a smaller piece, you can then use a long circular needle 80 cm and knit magic loop. Happy knitting!

How to knit stripes in the round with no jog

In this DROPS video we show how to knit stripes in the round without getting a jog in the transition. Change to a new color and work 1 round. Work the first stitch on the next round like this: Pick up the stitch under the first stitch on the left needle (pick up in the back loop), and put it into the left needle. Knit the stitch together with the next stitch on the left needle. In this way, the transition becomes less visible. You can carry to other color along on the inside of the work. If the stripes are wide, you can twist the colors at the end of round on every 3 cm/ every 1 inch. You must read the pattern to be able to follow. You’ll find patterns where you can use this technique by clicking on the pictures below.

How to turn 1 strand into 3 from the same ball of yarn

In this DROPS video we how to make 3 strands out of 1 single strand from a ball of yarn. 1. Make a simple loop (like the loop worked when you begin any crochet project) and pull it to approx. 2-3 cm = ¾"-1⅛" in length. 2. Thread the strand from the skein through this loop, creating a new loop of approx. 40-50 cm = 15¾"-19¾". 3. Lay this loop alongside the working strand, so 1 strand becomes 3 strands. 4. Knit or crochet using these 3 strands until there is approx. 2 cm = ¾" left. Repeat points 2 to 4.

How to join 2 pieces, then bind off with I-cord

In this DROPS video we show you how to join 2 pieces together (A and B), then binding off with an I-cord. Place all the stitches from A and B on the same needle, so that every second stitch on the needle belongs to A and B. We bind off with I-cord as follows: - Cast on 3 stitches onto the right needle. Slip the 3 stitches from the right needle onto the left needle with the working strand now situated 3 stitches in on the left needle. - ROW 1 (= right side): Knit 2, knit 3 twisted together (i.e., 1 stitch from the front piece and 1 stitch from the back piece is decreased). Slip 3 stitches from the right needle back onto the left needle. Do not turn (working like this tightens the working strand so the piece forms a small tube). - Repeat ROW 1 until there are 3 stitches left. Bind off and fasten all strands.
