On the instructions to crochet the stitch on the stitch BELOW, I may be mistaken, but I always assumed it meant on the row BELOW the one you SHOULD be working- that is, on row (or round!) 3, one would be stitching into row/round 1. stitches- thus avoiding the row/round previously worked, and going one below that one! I hope this is not confusing :)

What does it mean symbols = 1 treble crochet in stitch below symbols = 1 double crochet in stitch below. What is the stitch below? Not the normal next stitch? Is this the one even previous to this?
23.03.2023 - 14:29DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Araujo, this means you have to crochet the double crochet in one stitch (not between stitch, not around the stitch but in the stitch on previous round), ie just normally. This lesson might help you to understand how to read crochet diagrams. Happy crocheting!

Hi there, I think I am missing on how to increase in this pattern despite having read it 5 times...could you clarify?
23.03.2023 - 14:22DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Araujo, the increases are shown in the diagrams, ie when 2 symbols are pointing towards the same stitch on previous round, this means you have to work 2 stitches in the same stitch. for ex. on 2nd round you will work 2 half-treble crochets (UK-English) in each treble crochet on previous round (= 24 half-treble crochets at the end of 2nd round). Happy crocheting!

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. CHAIN STITCH: If you work at the end of crochet hook the chain stitch will often be too tight. 1 chain stitch should be just as long as 1 single crochet/half double crochet/double crochet is wide. CROCHET INFORMATION: Begin every round with single crochets/half double crochets/double crochets with 1/2/3 chain stitches, chain stitches do not replace first single crochet/half double crochet/double crochet on round but is in addition. Finish round with 1 slip stitch in 1st /2nd /3rd chain stitch at beginning of round. COLOR CHANGE: To get a nice transition between the color changes, work last slip stitch on round with the color to be used in next stripe. NOTE! On 6th and 11th round work with two colors on round, to make the transitions neat work as follows: Switch to color off white before last yarn over and pull through remain on double crochet before a bobble. Switch to color double crochets should be worked with before chain stitch at the end of bobble to be worked. In addition place yarn not being used over the stitches from previous round to work around the strands. Strands are hidden and continues in the round on round.
