I do not understand the decrease for the hat. According to the pattern, you have to decrease ONE STITCH in EVERY P section and to then repeat 9 times it total. But the P section has only 6 stitches, how do I decrease nine times?

Hi Antonia, You have 9 purled sections on the round and you decrease 1 stitch in each purled section (so the purled stitches are reduced from 6 to 5 in each section). When you repeat the decreases you alternate the decreases on each side of A.1. Hope this helps and happy knitting!

Hej! Skall omslagen i A1 släppas från stickan eller stickas som en maska nästföljande varv?

Dear Stella, the scarf consists here on 2 pieces worked from mid back to each end (so that the end of the piece are the same), working following diagrams as explained - read more about diagram here. Happy knitting!

GARTER ST (worked in the round): * K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*. 1 ridge = 2 rounds. GARTER ST (back and forth): K all rows. 1 ridge = K2 rows. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.3. The diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from RS. ---------------------------------------------------------- HAT: Worked in the round on circular needle, switch to double pointed needles when needed. Cast on 117-120-126 sts on circular needle size 2.5 mm / US 1.5 with BabyAlpaca Silk. Work 2 ridges in GARTER ST - see explanation above. Switch to circular needle size 3 mm / US 2.5. Work * P 6-5-7, A.1 (= 7 sts) *, repeat from *-* 9-10-9 times in total. Continue pattern like this. REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE When piece measures 17-20-20 cm / 6 3/4"-8"-8", dec 1 st in every P-section as follows: Work * P 2 tog, P 4-3-5, A.1 as before *, repeat from *-* 9-10-9 times in total = 108-110-117 sts. Repeat dec every 4th round 3-2-4 more times. NOTE: Dec alternately on each side of A.1 = 2 P between every A.1 = 81-90-81 sts. Then work A.2 over A.1 AT THE SAME TIME on 4th round in A.2 work the 2 P sts tog (= 9-10-9 sts dec). When A.2 has been worked 1 time vertically, there are 18-20-18 sts on needle. K all sts tog 2 by 2 = 9-10-9 sts. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining sts. Tighten tog and fasten. ---------------------------------------------------------- SHAWL: Piece is worked back and forth on circular needle in 2 equal parts and sewn tog when finished. Loosely cast on 117 sts on circular needle size 3 mm / US 2.5 with BabyAlpaca Silk. P 1 row from WS. Now work pattern as follows: 2 sts in stockinette st, P 3 from RS - K from WS, A.3 (= 10 sts) until 2 sts remain, work 2 sts in stockinette st. Continue pattern like this. REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE When piece measures 32 cm / 12½'' - adjust so that next row is not first row in A.3 - insert 1 marker in piece. NOW MEASURE PIECE FROM HERE! On next row from RS inc in every P-section as follows: K 3, 1 YO (= 12 sts inc). (Work YOs twisted K from WS - twisted P from RS on next row). Repeat inc alternately on each side of P sts (i.e. inc either before or after 3 P) every 4 cm / 1½'' 9 more times = 237 sts (= 13 P between every lace pattern and in each side). Work as before until piece measures approx. 42 cm / 16½'' - adjust to finish piece after last row in A.3. Work 2 ridges in garter st over all sts and loosely bind off. Piece measures approx. 75 cm / 29½''. Knit another part the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew the 2 parts tog at the cast-on edge with grafting/kitchener stitches to make the seam invisible. |
