Liebe Christiane, den Faden am Ende der Reihe können Sie etwas fest ziehen, damit die letzte linke Masche an der gleichen Höhe wie die erste linke Masche der Runde liegt. Viel Spaß beim stricken!

Bonjour Mme Soleil, on tricote les manches sur aiguilles doubles pointes en raison du petit nombre de mailles - vous pouvez également les tricoter avec une longue aiguille circulaire avec la technique dite du magic loop. Bon tricot!

Bonjour Mme Dignocourt, effectivement, pour tricoter du point mousse en allers-retours (en "rangs"), on tricote tous les rangs à l'endroit. Dans cette vidéo, nous montrons comment tricoter du point mousse en rond, et dans ce cas, on alterne 1 tour à l'end, 1 tour à l'env pour créer chaque côte mousse (l'équivalent de 2 rangs end). En tricotant tous les tours à l'end quand on tricote en rond, on obtient du jersey. Bon tricot!

We have several designs based on knitted squares. This is how you knit a square: Cast on 8 sts on double pointed needles. Distribute sts on 4 needles with 2 sts per needle. Knit a first round and at the same time insert a marker in the first stitch on every needle. Round 2: Knit the stitches with markers and purl remaining sts at the same time inc 1 st by making a yarn over on each side of each st with marker (= 8 inc per round). Round 3: Knit all sts, knit YO into back of loop to avoid holes. Repeat Round 2 and 3.

Sometimes our patterns tell you to work a number of rows in garter st on the middle sts with remaining sts in stockinette or pattern as before. This is how we do it when working in the round. The sts that are worked in garter are purled on every other round, and knitted on every other round, and the other sts are knitted on every round as before.

This is how you work garter stitch in the round on a circular needle. Purl one round, knit one round, purl one round and then knit one... repeat this for garter.

Several of our most popular patterns (example 146-2, 148-1, 126-1, 150-11) starts in the center of the piece with a few stitches and double pointed needles. It's a bit tricky to get started but gets easier and easier as you increase. Make sure to use markers to show where the increases are made. Keep increasing and work your way out. As the piece grows you continue with a longer and longer circular needle to fit all stitches. In this DROPS Video we show an example from pattern 146-2 on how to do so. There are different methods to cast on. This one is the most common that gives a firm but still elastic edge. It’s called the continental method. The cast on should be firm but not too hard. If you feel it becomes too tight you can use larger needles or cast on around two needles and then pull one needle out afterwards. Remember to use the correct needles when starting your knitting.
