How to crochet the Catherine Wheel stitch
In this DROPS video we show how to crochet the Catherine Wheel stitch.
When you work this pattern the way we do in this video, you need to start with a multiple of 10 + 2 ch. In our smaller sample we started with 22 ch.
Row 1: starting in 2nd ch from hook work 2 dc, *skip 3 ch, 7 tr in next ch, skip 3 ch, dc in next 3 ch, rep from *, end with dc in last 2 ch on row, and in last pull through change color. Turn.
Row 2: ch 3 from 1st dc, work tr in next 3 sts and wait with last pull through on each tr, then pull through all, and then ch 1 to secure, ch 3, 3 dc, ch 3, *tr in next 7 sts and wait with last pull through on each tr, then pull through all 8 sts on hook, ch 1 to secure, ch 3, 3 dc, ch 3, rep from *, tr in last 4 sts and wait with last pull through on each tr, then pull through all 5 sts on hook, ch 1 to secure. Turn.
Row 3: ch 3, 3 tr in ch-hole on prev row, dc in next 3 dc from prev row, *7 tr in next hole, dc in next 3 dc, rep from *, 4 tr in last hole and on last pull through change color. Turn.
Row 4: ch 1, dc in 1st and 2nd st, *ch 3, tr in next 7 sts and wait with last pull through on each tr, then pull through all 8 sts on hook, ch 1 to secure, ch 3, 3 dc, rep from *, end with dc in last 2 sts. Turn.
Row 5: ch 1, dc in 1st and 2nd st, * 7 tr in next hole, 3 dc, rep from *, end with dc in last 2 sts on row and in last pull through change color. Turn.
Repeat row 2-5
