I see, thank you. Again I'm beware that it is always a question of good and exact reading of a pattern.

Pattern: See diagram M.1 to M.5. The diagram shows the pattern from the RS. Edge: 3 cm = 1⅛" stockinette st, work next row as follows: *K2 tog, 1 YO*, repeat from *-* (= folding edge, measure piece from here), 3 cm = 1⅛" stockinette st. Body: The jacket is knitted back and forth on circular needle from mid front. Cast on 188-196-204 sts on circular needle size 2.5 mm = US 1,5 with coral and work Edge. Change to circular needle size 4 mm = US 6 and work 1 row stockinette st, at the same time inc 35-39-43 sts evenly = 223-235-247 sts. Now work next row as follows from RS: 1 edge st, M.2, M.4, M.3, 30-36-42 sts of M.5, M.2, 23 stockinette sts, M.1, 23 stockinette sts, M.3, 30-36-42 sts of M.5, M.2, M.4 but mirrored, M.3, 1 edge st. Continue in pattern like this. After 3 vertical repeats of M.4 continue in stockinette sts on these 20 sts. At the same time when piece measures 22-24-24 cm = 8¾"-9½"-9½" divide piece in two and now complete each piece separately. Front piece: = 56-59-62 sts. Dec to shape the armhole on every other row: 2 sts 1 time and 1 st 3-1-4 times. When piece measures 47-48-48 cm = 18½"-19"-19" bind off to shape the neckline on every other row: 14 sts 1 time, 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2 times, 1 st 2 times. Bind off remaining sts when piece measures 52-54-54 cm = 20½"-21¼"-21¼". Back piece: = 111-117-123 sts. Dec for armhole as described for front piece = 101-111-111 sts. When piece measures 50-52-52 cm = 19¾"-20½"-20½" bind off the middle 41-41-41 sts for neck and dec 2 sts on neckline on next row. Bind off remaining sts when piece measures 52-54-54 cm = 20½"-21¼"-21¼". Sleeve: Cast on 46-48-48 sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm = US 1,5 with coral and work Edge. Change to double pointed needles size 4 mm = US 6 and continue in M.5 (make sure to place a pattern repeat mid upper sleeve), at the same time inc 12-12-12 sts evenly on first round = 58-60-60 sts. Now inc 2 sts mid under arm a total of 32-31-32 times on every 3rd round = 121-122-124 sts. When piece measures 47-45-46 cm = 18½"-17¾"-18" bind off 10 sts mid under arm and complete piece back and forth on needle. Dec each side to shape the sleeve cap on every other row: 6 sts 7 times. Bind off when piece measures approx 53-51-52 cm = 21"-20"-20½". Assembly: Sew the shoulder seams. Pick up approx 100 sts along left front piece on needle size 2.5 mm = US 1,5 with coral and work Edge, bind off. Repeat along right front piece, but after 1 cm = ⅜" make 5 buttonholes evenly distributed. 1 buttonhole = bind off 2 sts and cast on 2 new sts on return row. Pick up approx 110 sts round the neck on needle size 2.5 mm = US 1,5 with coral and work 2 cm = ¾" Edge, at the same time dec 8 sts evenly on neckline on back piece on first row. Bind off after the Edge. Fold all edges double towards WS and fasten. Set in sleeves - sew in outer loops of sts to avoid a chunky seam - and sew on buttons. |
