Hallo, in the neckwarmer I have to cast on 127 stitches and then at the end the pattern says "work 63 in seed stitch and 63 in stockinette", where i have to bind off 1 stitch? Cause 63+63 are 126 stitches.
26.01.2021 - 23:31DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Prostamo, thanks for your feedback, pattern will be edited, work moss the first 64 stitches and the last 63 stitches in stocking stitch; cast off the 64 stitches and work the remaining 63 stitches as explained (moss stitch casting off 2 sts at the beg of every row) - A correction comes asap. Happy knitting!

I’m new to knitting so here goes. In the Neck Warmer you end on the point in the front with 11 stitches? How does that create a point? Also, what if I want to use a garter stitch instead of Stockinette? Any suggestions? Many thanks.
09.11.2019 - 01:00DROPS Design answered:
Dear Maria, since you cast off 2 stitches at the beginning of a number of rows the frot will be pointy. If you want it to be pontier just keep casting off until you end uo with only a couple of stitches. On the other hand this neckwarmer is designed with combining seed and stockinett stitch both having a totally diferent gauge row-wise than garter I would not suggest exchanging them, as the shape would be distorted. Happy Knitting!

Would Alpaca wool work for this hat pattern?
27.10.2019 - 04:59DROPS Design answered:
Dear Nads. yes, you can use our yarn converter ( in the link below) to calculate the amount you'd need. https://www.garnstudio.com/includes/yarn-calc.php?cid=19 You'd also need to recalculate the stitches in the pattern, since you'll be using yarn from a different yarn group. Happy knitting!

Salve, quando si parla di intrecciare due maglie all'inizio di ogni ferro per la parte inferiore a grana di riso si intende di diminuire 2 maglie e non 1. Grazie della vostra disponibilità.

Buonasera Rita. Sì esatto, deve chiudere 2 m, in modo che sul ferro ci siano 2 m in meno. Buon lavoro!

Drops 171/44 Seattle neck warmer Hello, In the pattern it says: REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE Switch to circular needle size 4 mm / US 6 with seed st for 2 cm / 3/4''. Does this mean I work a second lot of seed stitch for 2 cm OR this is a reference to the gauge only? Thank you.
26.09.2016 - 10:37DROPS Design answered:
Dear Jen, this is a reference to the gauge (keep same tension as for your swatch to get correct finished measurements) - when piece measures 20-21-22 cm, then continue with needle size 4 mm /US 6 and work 2 cm seed st. Happy knitting!

Then repeat round 2. ---------------------------------------------------------- HAT: Worked in the round on circular needle. Switch to double pointed needles when needed. Cast on 103-107-111 sts on circular needle size 3.5 mm / US 4 with Karisma. K 1 round, then continue in the round with SEED ST – see explanation above, until piece measures 6 cm / 2⅜". Switch to circular needle size 4 mm / US 6. Continue in the round in stockinette st until piece measures 19 cm / 7½" in all sizes. REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE Now insert 6 markers in the piece as follows: Insert a marker at beg of round, work 17-17-17 sts, insert a marker, then insert 4 markers 17-18-19 sts apart, work the remaining 18-18-18 sts remain on round. On next round, dec 1 st after every marker by K 2 tog. Dec like this every other round 11-11-13 times = 37-41-33 sts. On next round K first st, then K 2 and 2 sts tog = 19-21-17 sts. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten. NECK WARMER: Work top down, first in the round, then work the flap at the front back and forth. Cast on 109-117-127 sts on circular needle size 4 mm / US 6 with Karisma. K 1 round, then work SEED ST - see explanation above, for 2 cm / ¾". Switch to circular needle size 4.5 mm / US 7. Now work in stockinette st until piece measures 20-21-22 cm / 8"-8¼"-8¾" in total. REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE Switch to circular needle size 4 mm / US 6 with seed st for 2 cm / ¾". Now work as follows: Work seed st over the first 55-59-63 sts on round, then work in stockinette st over the remaining 54-58-63 sts on round. On next round, work as follows: Work in seed st over the first 55-59-63 sts, then bind off the remaining 54-58-63 sts (i.e. the sts worked in stockinette st on previous round). Now continue back and forth in seed st over the 55-59-63 sts and bind off 2 sts at beg of every row. Bind off like this in each side until 11 sts remain in all sizes. Bind off. Fasten off. |
