JUMPER: Knitting gauge: 10 sts x 14 rows on needles size 7 mm / US 10½ in stockinette sts = 10 x 10 cm / 4" x 4". Garter sts (back and forth on needle): knit all rows. Front piece: Loosely cast on 42-45-48 (51-54-57) sts (includes 1 edge st each side) on needle size 7 mm / US 10½ with Puddel and K1 row and decrease 3 sts evenly = 39-42-45 (48-51-54) sts. K3 rows in garter sts. Continue in stockinette sts. Remember your knitting gauge! When piece measures 30-32-34 (36-38-40) cm / 11¾"-12½"-13⅜" (14¼"-15"-15¾") bind off for armholes in beg of every row, each side : 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 0-0-1 (1-1-2) times and 1 st 1-2-1 (2-3-2) times = 31-32-33 (34-35-36) sts. When piece measures 39-42-45 (47-50-53) cm / 15¼"-16½"-17¾" (18½"-19¾"-21") bind off the middle 7-8-9 (10-11-12) sts for neck and finish each shoulder separately. Continue and bind off 1 st in beg of every row from neck a total of 3 times = 9 sts left on each shoulder. Bind off when piece measures 45-48-51 (54-57-60) cm / 17¾"-19"-20" (21¼"-22½"-23⅝"). Back piece: Cast on and work as front piece. Bind off for armholes as described for front piece and continue until piece measures 43-46-49 (52-55-58) cm / 17"-18"-19¼" (20½"-21⅝"-22¾"). Now bind off the middle 11-12-13 (14-15-16) sts for neck and work each shoulder separately. On next row dec 1 st on neckline = 9 sts left on shoulder. Bind off when piece measures 45-48-51 (54-57-60) cm / 17¾"-19"-20" (21¼"-22½"-23⅝"). Sleeve: Loosely cast on 20-20-22 (22-24-24) sts (includes 1 edge st each side) on needle size 7 mm / US 10½ with Puddel and K4 rows. Continue in stockinette sts. When sleeve measures 8 cm / 3⅛" inc 1 st each side, repeat inc on every 3.5-3.5-4 (4-4.5-4.5) cm / 1¼"-1¼"-1½" (1½"-1¾"-1¾") a total of 5-6-6 (7-7-8) times = 30-32-34 (36-38-40) sts. When sleeve measures 25-28-31 (34-38-42) cm / 9¾"-11"-12¼" (13⅜"-15"-16½"), bind off for sleeve cap in beg of every row, each side as follows: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1 time and 1 st 0-0-1 (1-2-3) times, and then 2 sts each side until sleeve measures 30-34-38 (42-47-52) cm / 11¾"-13⅜"-15" (16½"-18½"-20½"). Bind off remaining sts. Assembly: Sew right shoulder seam. Neck: Pick up approx 34 to 44 sts round the neck on needle size 7 mm / US 10½ and Puddel and K back and forth on needle with opening on left shoulder. When neck measures 4-5-5 (6-6-6) cm / 1½"-2"-2" (2½"-2½"-2½"), divide the piece mid front for slit and finish each side separately. When neck measures 6-7-7 (8-8-9) cm / 2½"-2¾"-2¾"-3"-3"-3½" bind off loosely. Sew left shoulder seam and continue up along the neck – sew the neck in the outer loop of the outermost st in order the seam doesn’t become to thick. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams within 1 edge st. ____________________________________________________________________ HAT: Gauge: 10 sts x 20 rows on needles size 7 mm / US 10½ with 1 strand of each quality (3 strands held together) in garter sts = 10 x 10 cm / 4" x 4". Garter sts (back and forth on needle): knit all rows. Ear flap: Cast on 4-4-6 sts on needle size 7 mm / US 10½ with 1 strand of each quality (3 strands). Work in garter sts, at the same time after 2 rows inc 1 st each side by making a yo within the edge st. On next row knit the yo into back of st to avoid a hole. Repeat inc on every 2nd-2nd-3rd row until there are 12-13-14 sts on row. Continue in garter sts until earflap measures 5-6-7 cm / 2"-2⅜"-2¾". Put the piece aside and knit another earflap. Hat: Cast on 3-3-4 sts on needle size 7 mm / US 10½ with 1 strand of each quality, put one earflap on needle, cast on 12-14-14 new sts (= front), put the other earflap on needle and cast on 3-3-4 new sts = 42-46-50 sts. Now knit back and forth on needle from mid back in garter sts. When piece measures 13-14-16 cm / 5⅛"-5½"-6¼" dec 6 sts evenly on row, repeat dec on every other row a total of 6-7-7 times = 6-4-8 sts left. Cut the yarn, pull it through remaining sts and fasten. The hat measures approx 19-21-23 cm / 7½"-8¼"-9" from mid front to the top. Sew the hat tog mid back in the outer loops of the outermost sts in order the seam doesn’t become too thick. Crochet a row of sc along the bottom edge of the hat with 2 strands of Alpaca using crochet hook size 7mm/K. Braids: Cut 24 strands Alpaca measuring 80 cm / 31½" each. Fold them double, pull the loop through cast on row on one earflap and pull ends through the loop. Separate the strands into 3 sections and braid loosely. Tie a knot at the end – the braid measures approx 18-22 cm / 7"-8¾". Repeat for other earflap. Make a similar braid for the top of the hat with 24 strands of Alpaca measuring 30 cm / 11¾" each – this braid measures approx 6 cm / 2⅜". |
