JUMPER:
Knitting tension: 10 sts x 14 rows on needles size 7mm in stocking sts = 10 x 10 cm.

Garter sts (back and forth on needle): knit all rows.

Front piece:
Loosely cast on 42-45-48 (51-54-57) sts (incl 1 edge st each side) on needle size 7 mm with Puddel and knit 4 rows garter sts, decreasing 3 sts evenly on first row = 39-42-45 (48-51-54) sts. Continue in stocking sts. Remember your knitting tension! When piece measures 30-32-34 (36-38-40) cm cast off for armhole each side on every other row as follows: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 0-0-1 (1-1-2) times and 1 st 1-2-1 (2-3-2) times = 31-32-33 (34-35-36) sts. When piece measures 39-42-45 (47-50-53) cm cast off the middle 7-8-9 (10-11-12) sts for neck. Cast off 1 st on neckline on every other row a total of 3 times = 9 sts left on each shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 45-48-51 (54-57-60) cm.

Back piece: Cast on and knit as front piece. Cast off for armhole as described for front piece and continue until piece measures 43-46-49 (52-55-58) cm. Now cast off the middle 11-12-13 (14-15-16) sts for neck. On next row dec 1 st on neckline = 9 sts left on each shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 45-48-51 (54-57-60) cm.
Sleeve: Loosely cast on 20-20-22 (22-24-24) sts (incl 1 edge st each side) on needle size 7 mm with Puddel and knit 4 rows garter sts. Continue in stocking sts. When sleeve measures 8 cm inc 1 st each side on every 3.5-3.5-4 (4-4.5-4.5) cm a total of 5-6-6 (7-7-8) times = 30-32-34 (36-38-40) sts. When sleeve measures 25-28-31 (34-38-42) cm, dec for sleeve cap each side on every other row as follows: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1 time and 1 st 0-0-1 (1-2-3) times, and then 2 sts each side until sleeve measures 30-34-38 (42-47-52) cm. Cast off remaining sts.

Assembly: Sew right shoulder seam.

Neck: Pick up approx 34 to 44 sts round the neck on needle size 7mm and Puddel and knit garter sts back and forth on needle from left shoulder. When neck measures 4-5-5 (6-6-6) cm, divide the piece mid front for slit and finish each side separately. When neck measures 6-7-7 (8-8-9) cm cast off loosely.
Sew left shoulder seam and continue along the neck – sew the neck in the outer loop of the outermost st in order the seam doesn’t become to heavy. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams within 1 edge st.

HAT:
Knitting tension: 10 sts x 20 rows on needles size 7mm with 1 strand of each quality (3 strands) in garter sts = 10 x 10 cm.

Garter sts (back and forth on needle): knit all rows.

Earflap:
Cast on 4-4-6 sts on needle size 7mm with 1 strand of each quality (3 strands). Knit garter sts, at the same time after 2 rows inc 1 st each side by making a yo within the edge st. On next row knit the yo into back of st to avoid creating a hole. Inc on every 2nd-2nd-3rd row until there are 12-13-14 sts on row. Continue in garter sts until earflap measures 5-6-7 cm. Put the piece aside and knit another earflap.

Hat: Cast on 3-3-4 sts on needle size 7mm with 1 strand of each quality, put one earflap on needle, cast on 12-14-14 new sts (= front), put the other earflap on needle and cast on 3-3-4 new sts = 42-46-50 sts.
Now knit back and forth on needle from mid back in garter sts. When piece measures 13-14-16 cm dec 6 sts evenly on row on every other row a total of 6-7-7 times = 6-4-8 sts left. Cut the thread, pull it through remaining sts and sew. The hat measures approx 19-21-23 cm from mid front to the top.
Sew the hat tog mid back in the outer loop of the outermost st in order the seam doesn’t become too heavy.
Crochet a row of dc along the bottom edge of the hat with 2 strands of Alpaca using crochet hook size 7mm.

Plait: Cut 24 threads Alpaca measuring 80 cm each. Fold them double, pull the loop through cast on row on one earflap and pull ends through the loop. Separate the threads into 3 sections and plait loosely. Tie a knot at the end – the plait measures approx 18 – 22 cm. Repeat for other earflap. Make a similar plait for the top of the hat with 24 strands of Alpaca measuring 30 cm each – this plait measures approx 6 cm.

DROPS Deutsch 17.12.2010 - 08:54:
