If I inc. every 7 cm - 17, 24, then the third inc. is 31. At 30. cm I dec.for an armhole. Would you correct it in the pattern?
03.08.2013 - 13:23DROPS Design answered:
Dear Olisia, you start first inc when piece measures 10 cm, then when it measures 17 cm then the last time (3rd time) when it measures 24 cm. Happy knitting!

At the picture I see that for M size one shoulder is 13 cm long together with the border. But 22 stiches in a shoulder without a border it is 13 cm! (12,94). The border is 3,5 cm, so I have 16,5 cm. My gauge is right - 17 st. = 10 cm, 22 stiches in a shoulder = approx 13 cm But the edge is 3,5 cm. Maybe the collar will “eat” it…

Dear Olisia, All measures are the pieces lad flat after working them. The border comes in addition. Happy knitting!

Now dec – see Decreasing tips – 1 st each side on every other row a total of 4-6-7-9-12 times = 60-62-66-68-70 sts. When piece measures 46-48-50-52-54 cm = 18"-19"-19¾"-20½"-21¼" bind off the middle 16-16-18-18-18 sts for neck and dec 1 st on neckline on next row = 21-22-23-24-25 sts left on each shoulder. Bind off when piece measures 48-50-52-54-56 cm = 19"-19¾"-20½"-21¼"-22". Right Front: Cast on 10-14-18-22-27 sts (incl 1 edge st at side) on needle size 5 mm = US 8 with Paris. Read all of the following section before continuing: Knit stockinette sts, at the same time inc mid front – insert a marking thread where the increases begin and finish – on every other row as follows: 5 sts 1 time, 4 sts 1 time, 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2 times and 1 st 5 times. At the same time, when piece measures 10 cm = 4" inc at side as described for back piece. After all inc there are 34-38-42-46-51 sts on needle. Armhole: When piece measures 29-30-31-32-33 cm = 11⅜"-11¾"-12¼"-12½"-13" dec for armhole as described for back piece. At the same time when piece measures 30-31-32-33-34 cm = 11¾"-12¼"-12½"-13"-13⅜" dec for neckline mid front: 1 st on every 6th row a total of 5-5-6-6-6 times. After all dec for armhole and neckline have been made there are 21-22-23-24-25 sts left on shoulder. Bind off when piece measures 48-50-52-54-56 cm = 19"-19¾"-20½"-21¼"-22". Left front piece: As right front piece, but mirrored. Sleeve: Cast on 42-44-46-48-50 sts (inclusive of 1 seam st each side) on needle size 4 mm = US 6. Knit 5 cm = 2" moss stitch, then knit 1 row from right side and knit 1 row from wrong side. Change to needle size 5 mm = US 8 and continue in stockinette sts. When piece measures 33-32-31-30-28 cm = 13"-12½"-12¼"-11¾"-11" bind off for sleeve cap each side on every other row as follows: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 3 times, 1 st 2-3-4-5-7 times, and then 2 sts each side until piece measures 41 cm = 16⅛", now dec 3 sts each side and bind off remaining sts on next row, piece measures approx 42 cm = 16½". Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew side seams within 1 edge st. Border round back and front pieces: Pick up approx 360-380-400-420-440 sts (= approx 19 sts every 10 cm = 4") from the right side using circular needle size 4 mm = US 6. Start mid back and work your way round the whole jacket. Purl 1 row, knit 1 round and continue in moss sts. When border measures 1.5 cm = ½" inc 2 sts by each of the 2 marking threads on front pieces – inc by knitting into front and back of st until 1 st has become 3 sts, the moss sts pattern will then carry on on next row. When border measures 2.5 cm = 1" dec for 4 buttonholes on right front piece, the top one should be 1 cm = ⅜" from neckline and the bottom one where the increases finish. 1 buttonhole = bind off 2 sts and cast on 2 new sts on next row. When border measures 3.5 cm = 1¼" bind off sts along front pieces and lower edge on back piece, i.e. from where the neckline begins on front piece, along back piece and up till neckline on other front piece = approx 100-110 sts. The remaining sts stay on needle for collar. Collar: Continue in moss sts over the remaining collar sts, at the same time dec each side on every other row: 1 st 2 times (at the beginning of row dec by knitting 2 sts tog and at the end of row dec by knitting 2 sts tog into back of st). When collar measures 7 cm = 2¾" (from cast-on row) dec each side on every other row: 1 st 2 times, 2 sts 1 time and bind off remaining sts on next row in rib. Sew sleeve seams within 1 seam st. Set in sleeves and sew on buttons. |
