Knitting gauge: 16 sts x 20 rows with 1 thread of each yarn quality in stockinette stitch on needle size 5.5 mm / US 9 = 10 x 10 cm / 4" x 4" Decreasing tips (applies to neck): Decrease within 1 edge st from the right side. Dec as follows after 1 edge st: slip 1 st as if to knit, K1, psso. Dec as follows before 1 edge st: K2 tog. Crochet info: Replace 1st dc on each row with 3 ch. Replace 1st tr on each row with 4 ch. Back piece: Cast on 62-70-76-84-92-100 sts (includes1edge st each side, edge sts are knitted in garter st throughout) on needle size 5.5 mm/ US 9 with 1 thread of each yarn quality (= double thread). Knit 2 rows garter st and continue in stockinette st. When piece measures 6 cm / 2⅜" inc 1 st each side and repeat on every 7-7-7-8-8-8 cm / 2¾"-2¾"-2¾"-3⅛"- 3⅛"- 3⅛" a total of 3 times = 68-76-82-90-98-106 sts. When piece measures 41-43-45-47-49-51 cm / 16⅛"-17"-17¾"-18½"-19¼"-20" (adjust so that next row is worked from the wrong side), Kover the middle 18-18-20-20-20-20 sts (purl the other sts). On next row bind off the middle 16-16-18-18-18-18 sts for neck and work each side separately. Dec 1 st at neckline on next row – see Decreasing tips = 19-20-20-21-22-24 sts left on each shoulder. Left front piece: As right front piece, but mirrored. Sleeve: Cast 38-40-42-42-44-46 sts (includes 1seam st each side) on needle size 5.5 mm/US 9 with 1 thread of each yarn quality (= double thread). Knit 2 rows garter st and continue in stockinette st. When sleeve measures 10 cm / 4", inc 1 st each side on every 4.-3.5-3.-2.5-2.-2. cm / 1½"-1¼"-1⅛"-⅞"-¾"-¾" a total of 9-10-11-12-13-14 times = 56-60-64-66-70-74 sts. When piece measures 46-44-43-42-40-39 cm / 18"-17¼"-17"-16½"-15¾"-15¼" bind off for sleeve cap each side on every other row as follows: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 3 times, 1 st 1-2-3-4-6-7 times, and then 2 sts each side until piece measures 53 cm / 21", now bind off 3 sts each side and bind off when sleeve measures approx 54 cm / 21¼". Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Set in sleeves and sew sleeve and side seams within 1 edge st. Crochet border: Crochet along all edges, i.e. along right front piece, round neck, down left front piece and along bottom edge using crochet hook size 4 mm/ G/6 and Vivaldi as follows: 1st round: 1 sc in first st, ch 3, 2 dc in same st, ch 2, 3 dc in same st, *skip approx 3 cm / 1⅛", 3 dc – 2 ch and 3 dc (= 1 dc-group) in next st*, repeat from *-* and finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beginning of round. Note! In both corners on front pieces, crochet 3 dc-groups very close together so that there’s a dc-group right in the corner. 2nd round: 1 sl st in each of the next 2 dc and 1 sl st in ch space, now crochet as follows in each ch space: *3 tr, ch 2, 3 tr*, repeat from *-* and finish with 1 sl st in 4th ch from beginning of round. 3rd round: 1 sl st in each of the next 2 tr and 1 sl st in ch space, now crochet as follows in each ch space: *3 tr, ch 3, 3 tr*, repeat from *-* and finish with 1 sl st in 4th ch from beginning of round. Now insert a marking thread in both front pieces approx 36-37-38-39-40 cm / 14¼"-14½"-15"-15¼"-15¾" down from the shoulder. 4th round: : 1 sl st in each of the next 2 tr and 1 sl st in ch space, now crochet as follows in each ch space: *4 tr, ch 3, 4 tr*, repeat from *-* but from the marking thread on right front piece, up along neckline, round back neckline and down to marking thread on left front piece crochet 5 tr, ch 3, 5tr in each ch space. Finish round with 1 sl st in 4th ch from beginning of round. 5th round: 1 sl st in each of the next 3 tr and 1 sl st in ch space, 10 tr in each of the following ch spaces, but between marking threads, crochet 13 tr in each ch space. Finish round with 1 sl st in 4th ch from beginning of round. Fasten off. Crochet border round sleeves: Crochet along sleeve edges using crochet hook size 4 and Vivaldi as follows: 1st round: 1 sc in first st, ch 4, 2 tr in same st, ch 2, 3 tdr in same st, *skip approx 3 cm / 1⅛", in next st: 3 tr, 2 ch and 3 tr*, repeat from *-* and finish with 1 sl st in 4rd ch from beginning of round. 2nd round: 1 sl st in each of the next 2 tr and 1 sl st in ch space, 12 tr in each of the following ch spaces – at the beginning of round replace 1 tr with 4 ch – and finish with 1 sl st in 4th ch from beginning of round. Cut thread. Belt: Cast on 6 sts on needle size 5.5 mm/US 9 with 1 thread of each yarn quality (= double thread) and knit a tube as follows: *K1, put yarn in front of piece, slip 1 st as if to purl, put yarn behind piece again*, repeat from *-* on all rows. Bind off when belt measures approx 140-200 cm / 55"-80". |
