How to knit an i-cord back and forth

In this DROPS video we show how you can knit an i-cord back and forth on the needle. An i-cord is a knitted tube. Often used for the handles on a bag or cords to tie on a hat, jacket or hood. We have another video showing how to make a small i-cord knitting from RS only, but with this one we show you how you how to make a larger one. You can cast on 4, 6, 8 sts or more, but it has to be an even number. Knit every row back and forth like this: *K1, put thread in front of piece, slip 1 st as if to purl, put thread behind piece*, repeat from *-* on all rows. This creates a round string. When long enough knit sts tog 2 by 2 at the same time as binding off. You must read the pattern to be able to follow. Witaj Anno, oczywiście można tasiemkę I-cord poszerzyć, wystarczy nabrać większą liczbę oczek. Należy pamiętać, aby liczba oczek była parzysta. Pozdrawiamy!

Bonjour Mme Martin, nous n'avons pas encore réalisé de cordon en I bicolore, mais je suppose que vous pouvez le faire de la même façon, pensez à bien placer vos fils pour qu'ils soient cachés à l'intérieur du cordon lors des changements. Bon tricot!

In this DROPS video we show how to crochet a cord with 2 strands / 2 colors. Place the strands together, but use your left index finger to hold the threads apart (let one strand (pink) lie at the top above the finger and let the other strand (light blue) lie at the bottom under the index finger) and make sure that the strands that are to be crocheted with are in the same order along the way. Work like this: * Take the hook over and around the light blue strand (2 loops on the hook), take the hook under and around the pink strand and pull the pink strand through both loops on the hook *, work from *-* to desired length. Cut the strands leaving 10 cm = 4" (used to fasten the cord), thread the pink strand through the last loop on the hook. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. You’ll find a pattern using this technique by clicking on the picture below.

How to crochet an easy cord

In this DROPS video we show how easy you can crochet a cord. Crochet up 1 loop in 3 stitches where you want the cord to start, eg in the edge of a bag. Make 1 yarn over and pull it through all 3 loops – this is like working 3 stitches together. * Make 1 yarn over, insert the hook into the first of the 3 stitches below. Pick up the strand at the front of the piece (i.e. work in the front loop of stitch) and pull the strand through = 3 loops on hook, make 1 yarn over and pull through all loops on hook *, repeat from *-* to the desire length of the cord. Instead of inserting the hook into the first of the 3 stitches below, you can also insert the hook into the middle stitch below (this is done on the other cord we show in the video). We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. You must read the pattern to be able to follow this video properly

How to make a friendship bracelet

In this DROPS video we show you how you can make an easy friendship bracelet. You need a piece of card and 7 strands of yarn approx. 1 yd. Make a hole in the center of the circle and 8 gap around the circle that are cut. Make a knot of all the strands and pull it through the hole. Attach all the strands in each gap. One gap will not have a thread, let this gap point towards you. Now the weaving starts. * Count from the gap without a thread and left and up over 2 strands, move the third strand to the gap that has no thread / the gap that points towards you. Turn the card so that the gap without strand points toward you again * and repeat from * - * to the desired length on the braid. Do not pull hard the braid that comes out of the hole, but let it "grow" by itself. Once you have the desired length, take the strands out of the gaps and cut the thread, make the ending the way you want, knot, double knots or a pearl. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video, but the little bracelet is made in DROPS Cotton Merino

How to crochet a handle to a bag

In this DROPS video we show how you crochet the handle on the beautiful Carry All bag in DROPS 139-11, but it can also be used in other bags. Crochet in the round with sc's without ending the round with 1 sl st. Ch 5 and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch. Work 1 sc in every ch = 5 sc. After last sc on 1st round, work 1 sc in next sc, then work in the round with 1 sc in every sc. This bag is made in DROPS Lin and DROPS Cotton Viscose, in the video we crochet with DROPS Snow. I-cord - crochet

I-cord is a tube. Often used for the handles on a bag or cords to tie on a hat or hood. Start by ch 3. Pick up a st in 2nd and 3rd ch from hook, *lift off these 2 last sts, ch1 in rem st on hook, put 2nd st back and ch 1, put 3rd st back and ch 1*, repeat *-* until your cord has desired length, cut and pull yarn through all 3 sts to finish. If using a finer and more slippery yarn, you may be helped by putting the 2 sts on a cable needle when lifting them off hook.
