I’m a bit confused about Drop pattern 267-29, I don’t know how many stitches placed between the stitches markers.

Dear Adeola, the first marker, inserted after the first 44-44-46-46-48-50 stitches is only for measuring and won't follow the piece onwards. It doesn't change the start of the round or anything, so you can use another colour and pay it no mind when dividing the piece. The four markers are inserted inbetween 2 stitches, before starting to work the stitches. Insert 1 marker at the beginning of the round, count 20 stitches, insert 1 marker after this stitch, count 48-48-52-52-56-60 stitches (depending on the size), insert 1 marker after this stitch, count 20 stitches, insert 1 marker after this stitch, there are 48-48-52-52-56-60 stitches left (depending on the size). For size S, for example, you have: marker-1, 20 sts, marker-2, 48 sts, marker-3, 20 sts, marker-4, 48 sts. Happy knitting!

Neulo kunnes hiha on halutun pituinen ja tee lopuksi joustinneule. Katso myös DROPS Fabel-langasta neulottuja pitkähihaisia puseroitamme.

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- RAGLAN: Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over, which is worked as follows on the next round: BEFORE RAGLAN-STITCH (yarn over twists to the right): Slip the yarn-over purl-wise from the left to the right needle, place it back onto the left needle by inserting the left needle through the back (the yarn over is now the other way round). Knit through the stitch loop that lies on the front of the needle (avoids a hole). AFTER RAGLAN-STITCH (yarn over twists to the left): Knit through the stitch loop that lies on the back of the needle (avoids a hole). SLEEVE TIP: When knitting up stitches under the sleeve, you can get a small hole in the transition between stitches on the body and sleeve. This hole can be closed by picking up the strand between 2 stitches and working this strand twisted together with the first stitch between body and sleeve. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (2 stitches decreased). ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- SWEATER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The pattern uses both long and short needles; start with the length which fits the number of stitches and change when necessary. The neck and yoke are worked in the round with circular needle, top down and from the right back shoulder. When the yoke is finished, it is divided for the body and sleeves and the body is continued in the round, while the sleeves wait. The sleeves are worked top down, in the round. NECK: Cast on 136-136-144-144-152-160 stitches with circular needle size 2.5 MM = US 1.5 and DROPS Fabel. Work rib in the round as follows: Knit 1, * purl 2, knit 2 *, work from *-* until there are 3 stitches left on the round, purl 2 and knit 1. Work this rib for 3-3-3-3½-3½-3½ cm = 1⅛"-1⅛"-1⅛"-1¼"-1¼"-1¼". The round begins on the right back shoulder. Insert 1 marker after the first 44-44-46-46-48-50 stitches (approx. mid-front). The piece is measured from here YOKE: Insert 4 markers, without working the stitches, inserting each marker between 2 stitches (the raglan-stitches). Insert marker-1 at the beginning of the round, count 20 stitches (= sleeve), insert marker-2 before the next stitch, count 48-48-52-52-56-60 stitches (= front piece), insert marker-3 before the next stitch, count 20 stitches (= sleeve), insert marker-4 before the next stitch, there are 48-48-52-52-56-60 stitches left (= back piece). Change to circular needle size 3.5 MM = US 4. Continue with stockinette stitch in the round and increase for RAGLAN on each side of the 2 raglan-stitches – read explanation above. Increase for raglan every 2nd round 23-25-29-33-34-35 times = 320-336-376-408-424-440 stitches (8 increased stitches every increase-round). Remember to maintain the knitting gauge. The sleeve increases are finished. Continue increasing for raglan on the front and back pieces every 2nd round, 3-5-3-4-7-9 more times = 332-356-388-424-452-476 stitches (= 4 increased stitches every increase-round). Continue without further increases until the yoke measures 19-20-22-24-26-28 cm = 7½"-8"-8¾"-9½"-10¼"-11" from the marker mid-front. Now divide for the body and sleeves. DIVIDE FOR BODY AND SLEEVES: Place the first 66-70-78-86-88-90 stitches on a thread for the sleeve, cast on 10-12-14-16-18-22 stitches (mid-under the sleeve), knit 100-108-116-126-138-148 stitches (front piece), place the next 66-70-78-86-88-90 stitches on a thread for the sleeve, cast on 10-12-14-16-18-22 stitches (mid-under the sleeve), knit the last 100-108-116-126-138-148 stitches (back piece). The body and sleeves are finished separately. BODY: = 220-240-260-284-312-340 stitches. Continue with stockinette stitch in the round until the piece measures 40-42-44-45-47-49 cm = 15¾"-16½"-17¼"-17¾"-18½"-19¼" from the marker mid-front. Change to circular needle size 2.5 MM = US 1.5. Work rib (knit 2, purl 2), AT THE SAME TIME increase 40-40-40-44-52-60 stitches evenly on the first round = 260-280-300-328-364-400 stitches. When the rib measures 4-4-4-5-5-5 cm = 1½"-1½"-1½"-2"-2"-2", bind off with rib. The sweater measures approx. 44-46-48-50-52-54 cm = 17¼"-18"-19"-19¾"-20½"-21¼" from the marker mid-front and 48-50-52-54-56-58 cm = 19"-19¾"-20½"-21¼"-22"-22¾" from the shoulder. SLEEVES: Place the 66-70-78-86-88-90 sleeve-stitches from one stitch holder onto circular needle size 3.5 MM = US 4 and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 10-12-14-16-18-22 cast-on stitches under the sleeve – read SLEEVE TIP = 76-82-92-102-106-112 stitches. Insert a marker-thread in the middle of the 10-12-14-16-18-22 new stitches under the sleeve. The round starts by the marker-thread. Work stockinette stitch in the round. AT THE SAME TIME, when the sleeve measures 2-2-2-2-3-4 cm = ¾"-¾"-¾"-¾"-1⅛"-1½" from the division, decrease mid-under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP as follows: Decrease 2 stitches every 2½-2½-2-2-2-0 cm = 1"-1"-¾"-¾"-¾"-0" a total of 5-5-5-5-3-1 times = 66-72-82-92-100-110 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 13-13-11-10-8-7 cm = 5⅛"-5⅛"-4⅜"-4"-3⅛"-2¾" from the division. Change to double pointed needles size 2.5 MM = US 1.5. Work rib (knit 2, purl 2), AT THE SAME TIME increase 10-12-14-16-16-18 stitches evenly on the first round = 76-84-96-108-116-128 stitches. When the rib measures 1½-2 cm = ½"-¾", bind off with rib. The sleeve measures approx. 15-15-13-12-10-9 cm = 6"-6"-5⅛"-4¾"-4"-3½" from the division. |
