Bind off a pointed edge

When you bind off or cast off at an edge where you have inc to make a pointed edge e.g a poncho, you should keep on inc even on the bind off row, otherwise the edge might roll. The video is showing how you inc 1 st each side of center st at the same time as you bind off.

Wave pattern in DROPS 163-17

In this DROPS video we show how to work chart A.1 in DROPS 163-17. We work 3 edge stitches on each side and works A.1 2 times the width. How to work a domino square

In this DROPS video we show how we work a domino square. Cast on 5 stitches and insert 1 marker thread in the middle stitch. Work the domino square as follows: ROW 1 (= wrong side): Knit. ROW 2 (= right side): Knit as far as the stitch with the marker thread, 1 yarn over, knit 1 (stitch with marker thread), 1 yarn over, knit to end of row. ROW 3 (= wrong side): Knit. ROW 4 (= right side): Knit as far as the stitch with the marker thread, 1 yarn over, knit 1 (stitch with marker thread), 1 yarn over, knit to end of row. Work ROWS 1-4 onwards until finish measurement. Bind off – but on the bind-off row increase as before in the corner; yarn overs are bind off as you go (this avoids the corners being tight). How to knit the cover with cables in DROPS Extra 0-1402

In this DROPS video we show how to knit the cover with cables for the press pot and cup in DROPS Extra 0-1402. We knit the cover for a small cup and we have already cast on (we have less stitches than it says in the pattern and we knit A.6, A.7b and A.9 one time and A.8 2 times). This cover is knitted in DROPS Lima, but in the video we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow. You must read the pattern and look at the charts to be able to follow this video properly. How to work a strap with cable to a top

In this DROPS video we show how to work after chart A.6 to the “Seaside Spirals” top in DROPS 211-13, but the same technique / similar cable is used in other patterns. How to work a flounce edge after chart

In this DROPS video we show how to work a flounce edge after chart A.1 used in the “Rosy Ruffles” socks in DROPS 223-47. We have already cast on 36 stitches with 2 threads. We work further with only 1 thread. These socks are worked in DROPS Nord, but in this video we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow. How to work a folding edge together

In this DROPS video we show how to work a folding edge together, like the one in the “Rosy Ruffles” socks in DROPS 223-47. We have already worked the flounce edge and we place a marker in the first stitch on last round. Work a rib with knit 2/purl 1 to right measurements. Fold the beginning of piece in towards wrong side of piece so that you can pick up stitch in the first round with rib after A.1 (piece is now folded with wrong side towards wrong side and flounce is pointing upwards over the needles). Knit 1 round while at the same time as every knit stitch from the first round with rib is knitted together with next stitch on round (i.e. every 3rd stitch from the first round with rib is fastened to the round being worked now). Turn the piece inside out so that flounce is on the outside of piece, this is now the right side of sock. Knit 1 round (as the round is turned there might be a small hole in the transition but this can be sewn up with a small stitch at the end). How to work a flounces edge at the end of a work

In this DROPS video we show how to work a flounces edge at the end of a work, like the one in DROPS 230-36. We start the video by showing a little bit of the last round of the rib (knit 1 twisted/purl 1), before we show how to increase stitches to the flounces edge. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. How to knit a cable with two-colored English rib

In this DROPS video we show how to knit a cable with two-colored English rib in the cloth used in DROPS 189-14. We show the row with cable, next row is row 5 and we use less stitches that it says in the pattern, so remember to read the patter to get the correct stitch numbers. How to knit A.1 - beginning to a sweater

How to knit up stitches for a jacket band

In this DROPS video we show how to knit up stitches for band to a jacket with a double neck. Then we work a little bit of the band, 1 K and 1 P, with 1 edge stitch in each side in garter stitch. You need to read a pattern to know how many stitches to knit up. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. How to split the front piece in half to form a V-neck

In this DROPS video we show how we split a front piece in 2 to form a V-neck, as is done in the «Highland Homecoming» sweater with structural pattern in DROPS 216-5. We knit a mini-sweater and start the video where we put the middle stitch on a marker, this stitch will later be picked up when the neck is knitted. Then we show a couple of rows where we decrease for the neck (from RS) before we show how to bind off for armhole (from WS). This Highland Homecoming sweater is knitted in DROPS Air, but in the video we use a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow. How to work a neckline with a slight bend in the neck

In this DROPS video we show how to bind off on the neck edge, so that it gets a slightly better fit in the neck, as is done in the "Wild Mint Tea Jacket" in DROPS 227-6. We have only worked a small part of the jacket with a smaller number of stitches than what is written in the pattern and we work only a small part of the band before we bind off. This jacket is worked in DROPS Alpaca and DROPS Kid-Silk but in the video, we use a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow. The seam in the middle at the back can look a bit thick, so at the end we show 2 parts that are sewn together with DROPS Alpaca and DROPS Kid-Silk. How to work an easy thumb

In this DROPS video we show how to work an easy thumb to a mitten. We knit a marking thread (pastel pink) for the thumb opening when we work the mitten. Then we pull out the thread and place the stitches on double pointed needles. In addition, we also knit up new stitches on each sides (read pattern for how many stitches), then work the thumb finish. How to crochet «balloon» bubbles

How to decorate hair ties

In this DROPS video, we show you how to easily can remake your hair tie - make hair ornaments. Use a yarn that is slightly elastic and crochet enough stitches around the hair tie so it does not tighten. In this video we use DROPS Baby Merino and work single crochet around the hair tie. Crochet: Easy lace

In this DROPS video we show how to work a bookmark with lace pattern. Row 1: Ch 4, in the 4th ch from hook work: 3 dc, ch 5, 3 dc. Row 2: Ch 3, turn piece, in 3rd ch from hook work: 3 dc, ch 5, 3 dc, then 1 sl st in ch-space from previous row. Repeat 2nd row for the length you want. Fasten off. How to work a cable with relief-stitches
