How to crochet a ribbon and a cover

In this DROPS video we show how we crochet a very simple ribbon and a cover to a cup. RIBBON: Crochet 26 chain stitches (we use hook 3.5 and DROPS Merino Extra Fine color no 25), turn. Work 1 single crochet in the 2nd chain stitch from hook, 1 single crochet in each chain stitch the entire row and finish with 1 slip stitch in the 2nd chain stitch. Cut and fasten the threads at the same time as the ribbon is laid as a loop and fastened. COVER WITH RIBBON PATTERN. Work 33 chain stitches and form a ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch. ROUND 1: Work 2 chain stitches, 1 half double crochet in each chain stitch around, finish with 1 slip stitch in 2nd chain stitch at the beginning of the round. ROUND 2: Work as round 1. ROUND 3: Work * 9 chain stitches, skip 2 stitches, 1 slip stitch in next stitch *, repeat * - * the entire round. ROUND 4: Work 5 chain stitches, * turn the 9 chain-space from the previous row and work 2 single crochet around the top of the chain-space, 1 chain stitch *, repeat * - * the entire round and finish with 1 single crochet in the 4th chain stitch at the beginning of the round. ROUND 5: Work 2 chain stitches, 1 half double crochet in each stitch the entire round, finish with 1 slip stitch in 2nd chain stitch. ROUND 6: Work as 5th round. Cut and fasten the threads. How to crochet several rings together.

In this DROPS video we show how we crochet several rings together, which can be used for several things, for example, for a potholder. 4 rings together: RING 1: Crochet 12 chain stitches with color 1 and form a ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch. ROUND 1: 2 chain stitches, work 20 half double crochet in the ring, finish with 1 slip stitch in 2nd chain stitches from beginning of round. Cut and fasten the threads. RING 2: Crochet 12 chain stitches with color 2, put the chain stitches through RING 1 and form a ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch. ROUND 1: Work as ring 1. RING 3: Crochet 12 chain stitches with color 3, put the chain stitches through RING 2 and form a ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch. ROUND 1: Work as ring 1. RING 4: Crochet 12 chain stitches with color 4, put the chain stitches from above through RING 3 and then from above through RING 1, around RING 1 and up, form a ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch. ROUND 1: Work as ring 1. 8 rings together: Crochet as above. RING 5: Crochet 12 chain stitches with color 1, put the chain stitches through RING 3 and form a ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch. ROUND 1: Work as ring 1. RING 6: Crochet 12 chain stitches with color 2, put the chain stitches from above through RING 5 and then from above through RING 4, around RING 4 and up, form a ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch. ROUND 1: Work as ring 1. RING 7: Crochet 12 chain stitches with color 4, put the chain stitches through RING 5 and form a ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch. ROUND 1: Work as ring 1. RING 8: Crochet 12 chain stitches with color 3, put the chain stitches from above through RING 7 and then from above through RING 6, around RING 6 and up, form a ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch. ROUND 1: Work as ring 1. Continue with ring 7 and 8 to desired length. The square and the rectangle we first show in the video are crocheted in DROPS Nepal, but we work with DROPS Andes in the video.

How to crochet a simple butterfly

In this DROPS video we will show you how we make a simple summer bird, which for example can be used as a cute decoration on a hat. Work 5 chain stitches and make them into a ring with 1 slip stitch into the 1st chain stitch. First work 2 big «wings» then 2 smaller «wings». * Pull the stitch (the slip stitch) to make it approx. 3-4 cm, make a yarn over around hook, pull the hook through the chain stitch ring and pick up the thread, pull yarn through and make as long as the yarn overs and the slip stitch/previous stitch = 3 long stitches on hook. Repeat this 7 times more = 17 long stitches /yarn overs on hook. Make a yarn over around the needle and pull the thread through all the long stitches, make a new yarn over and pull it through the loop to «close« the long stitches together and make it tight. Work 3 chain stitches, then 1 slip stitch in the chain stitch ring. Put the 3 chain stitches on the «backside» *. Repeat *-* 1 more time. Then work 2 smaller «wings». Repeat*-* 2 times but pull the stitches only 2-3 cm (they should be a bit shorter than the two first «wings») and work 2 chain stitches instead of 3 chain stitches. Finish the summer bird with 1 slip stitch in the chain stitch ring, tighten. Cut and fasten the threads. Spin a thread in a different color around the summer bird’s «stomach» 2-3 times, tie the threads and cut «the feelers» to a suitable length. Choose which yarn and hook size you want to use for yourself. We are using DROPS Snow and hook size 8mm in this video. The colorful summer birds are made in DROPS Melody / hook size 4,5mm and DROPS Kid-Silk / hook size 3,5mm.

Crochet: Lantern

In this DROPS video we show how to work a lantern. Ch 6 and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch. ROUND 1: READ CROCHET INFO 1. Work 8 sc in ch-ring. ROUND 2: Work 2 sc in every sc the entire round = 16 sc. ROUND 3: ch 1, * 2 sc in first sc, 1 sc in next sc *. Repeat from *-* the entire round = 24 sc. ROUND 4: Work as 3rd round but work 1 sc more between every time working 2 sc in 1 sc = 32 sc. Continue like this until a circle that is 1 cm / 3/8'' less than the base of the jar has been worked. Make sure no of sts is divisible by 4. Then work 1 sc in every sc for 2 or 3 rounds up the side at the bottom of jar. Now work tr-groups as follows: ROUND 1: ch 4 and 3 tr in same sc, * skip 3 sc, in next sc work 4 tr *, repeat from *-* the entire round and finish with 1 sl st in 4th ch from beg of round. ROUND 2: Work sl sts over first tr-group, ch 4, 3 tr between 1st and 2nd tr-group from previous round. Then work 4 tr between every tr-group from previous round, finish with 1 sl st in 4th ch from beg of round. Repeat round 2 until 1,5 cm/½" remain from top edge on jar. EDGE: Work an edge at the top as follows: * ch 4, 4 tr in first ch, 1 sc between the next 2 tr-groups *. Repeat from *-* the entire round. Finish with 1 sl st in first ch on round. Thread a silk ribbon between the tr-groups on next to last round and tie a bow. REMEMBER - you will also need to read the pattern to be able to follow. Crochet: Cover to a vase

In this DROPS video we show you how to work a little cover for a glass vase. Use the stitch number in the pattern or if you want a larger or smaller cover adjust the circumference of cover by adding or subtracting ch when working ch-row - no of ch to add or subtract should be divisible by 2 (1 tr and 1 ch). How to crochet the Alpaca in DROPS Extra 0-1465

In this DROPS video we show how to crochet the Alpaca in DROPS Extra 0-1465. The piece is worked in the round from the top of the head and down, then the body, tail and 2 legs. Crochet: Dreamcatcher with plaits.

In this DROPS video we show how to make a dreamcatcher with plaits. We have worked a square and attached 5 plaits to one side in ch-spaces from corner to corner. 1 PLAIT = 3 strands of 65 cm, thread them in a ch-space, and make a plait, tie a knot at the end of plait.
