Bon tricot!

INFORMATION FOR PATTERN: GARTER STITCH (worked in the round): 1 ridge = 2 rounds. Knit 1 round and purl 1 round. PATTERN: See diagram A.1. Diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from the right side. INCREASE TIP-1 (evenly): To calculate how to increase evenly, use the total number of stitches on row (e.g. 82 stitches) and divide by the number of increases to be done (e.g. 6) = 13.7. In this example make 1 yarn over after alternately approx. every 13th and 14th stitch. On next row work yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. RAGLAN: Increase on each side of every A.1 (= 8 stitches increased on round): Increase 1 stitch by making a yarn over. On next round knit yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. INCREASE TIP-2 (applies to sides of body): Work until 2 stitches remain before marker, make 1 yarn over, knit 4 (marker thread is in the middle of these 4 stitches), make 1 yarn over (= 2 stitches increased). On next round knit yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. DECREASE TIP (applies to sleeves): Decrease 1 stitch on each side of marker thread as follows: Work until 3 stitches remain before marker thread and knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker thread is in the middle of these stitches), slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked. ---------------------------------------------------------- SWEATER: Worked in the round on circular needle, top down. Work sleeves in the round on circular needle/double pointed needles. YOKE: Cast on 82-85-88-91-97-102 stitches on a short circular needle size 5 mm / US 8 with Paris. Work 2 ridges in GARTER STITCH in the round - see explanation above. Switch to circular needle SIZE 5.5 mm/US 9 / US 9, knit 1 round while increasing 6-15-16-13-19-18 stitches evenly - read INCREASE TIP-1 = 88-100-104-104-116-120 stitches. Now work pattern and increase for RAGLAN - see explanation above, as follows: Knit 8-11-12-11-14-15 (= half back piece), make 1 yarn over, A.1 (= 11 stitches, raglan line), make 1 yarn over, knit 6-6-6-8-8-8 stitches (= sleeve), make 1 yarn over, A.1 (= raglan line), make 1 yarn over, knit 16-22-24-22-28-30 (= front piece), make 1 yarn over, A.1 (= raglan line), make 1 yarn over, knit 6-6-6-8-8-8 stitches (= sleeve), make 1 yarn over, A.1 (= raglan line), make 1 yarn over, knit 8-11-12-11-14-15 (= half back piece). First increase for raglan is now done (= 8 stitches increased on round). Continue in the round like this and increase every other round 19-21-23-25-27-29 times in total = 240-268-288-304-332-352 stitches. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! When all increases for raglan are done, the piece should measure 21-23-25-27-29-31 cm / 8¼"-9"-9¾"-10⅝"-11⅜"-12¼" from cast-on edge mid front and down. If the piece is shorter than this, continue with pattern as before (without increasing more stitches) until piece have the correct measurements. Work next round in stockinette stitch as follows: Work 34-38-40-43-47-51 stitches (= half back piece), slip the next 52-58-64-66-72-74 stitches on a stitch holder (= sleeve), cast on 6-6-8-8-10-10 new stitches on needle (= in the side under sleeve), work the next 68-76-80-86-94-102 stitches (= front piece), slip the next 52-58-64-66-72-74 stitches on a stitch holder (= sleeve), cast on 6-6-8-8-10-10 new stitches on needle (= in the side under sleeve), work the remaining 34-38-40-43-47-51 stitches (= half back piece). BODY: = 148-164-176-188-208-224 stitches. NOW MEASURE THE PIECE FROM HERE! Insert a marker thread in each side (= the middle of the new stitches cast-on under each sleeve = 3-3-4-4-5-5 new stitches on each side of marker thread). Work in stockinette stitch. When piece measures 2 cm / ¾", increase 1 stitch on each side of marker thread in each side - READ INCREASE TIP-2. Increase like this every 6 cm / 2⅜" 6 times in total in all sizes = 172-188-200-212-232-248 stitches. Continue until piece measures approx. 38 cm in all sizes. Switch to circular needle size 5 mm / US 8. Work 2 ridges. Bind off. Switch to a larger needle number if needed to avoid a tight bind-off edge. Piece measures approx. 62-64-66-68-70-72 cm / 24⅜"-25¼"-26"-26¾"-27½"-28⅜" from shoulder and down. SLEEVE: Work sleeve in the round on circular needle/double pointed needles. Slip the 52-58-64-66-72-74 stitches from stitch holder in one side of piece on a short circular needle SIZE 5.5 mm/US 9 and cast in addition on 6-6-8-8-10-10 new stitches mid under sleeve = 58-64-72-74-82-84 stitches on needles. Insert a marker thread in the middle of the new stitches - NOW MEASURE PIECE FROM HERE. Work in stockinette stitch. When piece measures 2 cm / ¾", decrease 2 stitches mid under sleeve - read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 2½-2-1½-1½-1-1 cm 11-14-17-17-20-20 times in total = 36-36-38-40-42-44 stitches. Continue in stockinette stitch in the round until piece measures 33-33-32-29-28-26 cm / 13"-13"-12 ½"-11⅜"-11"-10 ¼". Switch to double pointed needles size 5 mm / US 8 and work 2 ridges. Bind off. Switch to a larger needle number if needed to avoid a tight bind-off edge. Sleeve measures 34-34-33-30-29-27 cm / 13⅜"-13⅜"-13"-11 ¾"-11⅜"-10⅝". Work the other sleeve the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew the openings under the sleeves. |
