Bon tricot!

INFORMATION FOR PATTERN: PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. Diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from the right side. DECREASE TIP-1: To calculate how to decrease evenly, use number of stitches to be decreased (e.g. 19) and divide with number of decreases to be done (e.g. 7) = 2.7. In this example decrease by knitting alternately every 1st and 2nd stitch and every 2nd and 3rd stitch together. DECREASE TIP-2 (applies to sleeves): Decrease 1 stitch in each side of piece as follows: Decrease as follows from right side: Knit the 2 outermost stitches in each side of piece together. Decrease as follows from wrong side: Purl the 2 outermost stitches in each side of piece together. ---------------------------------------------------------- SWEATER: Worked in the round on circular needle, bottom up. Divide piece when decreasing for armhole and finish back and front piece separately back and forth. Pick up stitches along armhole for sleeve and work back and forth on circular needle. Work neck on a short circular needle. BODY: Cast on 99-107-115-123-131-143 stitches on circular needle size 9 mm / US 13 with Snow. Knit 1 round, then work rib in the different sizes as follows: SIZE S-L-XXL-XXXL: * Knit 2, purl 2 *, work from *-* over the first 12-16-20-24 stitches, knit 2, work A.1 (= 25 stitches), * knit 2, purl 2 * over the remaining 60-72-84-92 stitches. SIZE M-XL: * Purl 2, knit 2 *, work from *-* over the first 16-20 stitches, work A.1 (= 25 stitches), * knit 2, purl 2 *, work from *-* over the next 64-76 stitches and finish with knit 2. ALL SIZES: Continue rib like this until piece measures 6 cm / 2⅜". Switch to circular needle size 10 mm / US 15. Work 0-0-0-0-0-1 stitch in stockinette stitch, round begins here now, insert 1 marker thread (round is now displaced 0-0-0-0-0-1 stitch). Work next round as follows: Work in stockinette stitch over the first 14-16-18-20-22-25 stitches, A.2 (= 25 stitches) over A.1, stockinette stitch over the next 14-16-18-20-22-25 stitches, insert 1 marker thread (= front piece), work in stockinette stitch over the last 46-50-54-58-62-68 stitches. Continue the pattern like this. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! When piece measures 40-41-42-43-44-45 cm / 15¾"-16⅛"-16½"-17"-17¼"-17¾", bind off stitches for armhole on next round as follows (adjust so that round is 1st-3rd-5th-7th-9th-11th or 13th round in A.2): bind off the first 2-2-2-2-2-3 stitches on round, work the next 49-53-57-61-65-69 stitches as before (= front piece), bind off the next 4-4-4-4-4-6 stitches, work until 2-2-2-2-2-3 stitches remain, bind off these stitches. Cut the yarn. Now finish each part separately. BACK PIECE: = 42-46-50-54-58-62 stitches. Continue in stockinette stitch over all stitches (work first row from wrong side). When piece measures 20-21-22-23-24-25 cm / 8"-8¼"-8¾"-9"-9½"-9¾" from where stitches where bind off for armhole (piece measures 60-62-64-66-68-70 cm / 23⅝"-24⅜"-25¼"-26"-26¾"-27½" in total) bind off the middle 16-16-18-18-20-20 stitches for neck and finish each shoulder separately = 13-15-16-18-19-21 stitches remain on each shoulder. Continue in stockinette stitch and bind off 1 stitch on next row from the neck = 12-14-15-17-18-20 stitches remain on shoulder. Work until piece measures 22-23-24-25-26-27 cm / 8¾"-9"-9½"-9¾"-10¼"-10⅝" from where stitches were bind off for armhole (piece measures 62-64-66-68-70-72 cm / 24⅜"-25¼"-26"-26¾"-27½"-28⅜" in total). Bind off. Work the other shoulder the same way. FRONT PIECE: = 49-53-57-61-65-69 stitches. Work until piece measures 56-58-58-60-60-62 cm / 22"-22¾"-22¾"-23½"-23½"-24½" (work first row from wrong side). Now slip stitches on 1 stitch holder for neck as follows: Work 16-18-19-21-22-24 stitches as before, work the next 17-17-19-19-21-21 stitches as before and decrease 7 stitches evenly – read DECREASE TIP-1, over these stitches, slip them on a stitch holder (= 10-10-12-12-14-14 stitches on stitch holder), work the remaining 16-18-19-21-22-24 stitches as before. Now finish each shoulder separately. Continue with knit and purl as before over the remaining stitches in A.2, and bind off for neck at the beginning of every row from neck as follows: bind off 2 stitches 1 time and 1 stitch 2 times = 12-14-15-17-18-20 stitches remain on shoulder. Continue until piece measures 62-64-66-68-70-72 cm / 24⅜"-25¼"-26"-26¾"-27½"-28⅜", adjust according to back piece. Bind off. Work the other shoulder the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams together. SLEEVE: Worked back and forth, top down. Pick up 40-42-44-46-48-50 stitches along armhole in outermost stitch on circular needle size 10 mm / US 15 with Snow. Work in stockinette stitch. When piece measures 4 cm / 1½", decrease 1 stitch in each side of piece – read DECREASE TIP-2 (= 2 stitches decreased). Decrease like this every 8th-7th-6th-6th-5th-5th row 8-9-10-9-10-11 times in total = 24-24-24-28-28-28 stitches. When piece measures 53-52-50-49-48-47 cm / 21"-20½"-19¾"-19¼"-19"-18½", switch to circular needle size 9 mm / US 13 and work rib (= knit 2/purl 2). When sleeve measures 58-57-55-54-53-52 cm / 22¾"-22½"-21½"-21¼"-21"-20½", switch to circular needle size 10 mm / US 15. Bind off stitches with knit over knit and purl over purl. Work the other sleeve the same way. NECK: Worked in the round. Pick up 56-56-60-60-64-64 stitches around the neck (including stitches on stitch holder) on double pointed needles size 9 mm / US 13 with Snow. Purl 1 round and knit1 round, then work rib (= knit 2/purl 2) for 12 cm / 4¾". LOOSELY bind off stitches with knit over knit and purl over purl. ASSEMBLY: Sew underarm seams, sew in outer loops of edge stsitch to avoid a chunky seam. |
