If I only used Drops Cloud (yarn group E) to make this beautiful long sweater what would be the quantity of wool needed? Thanks for your reply.

INFORMATION FOR THE PATTERN: SEED STITCH: ROW 1: * Knit 1, purl 1 *, repeat from *-*. ROW 2: Knit over purl and purl over knit. Repeat row 2 upwards. ---------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER: The jumper is worked back and forth with circular needle and is sewn together in the side to finish. Stitches for the sleeve are worked up in the armhole on the body and the sleeves are worked top down. BACK PIECE: The piece is worked back and forth with circular needle. Cast on 50-54-58-63-69-75 stitches with 1 strand of each quality (= 2 strands) with circular needle size 9 mm / US 13. Work SEED STITCH – see description above. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! When the piece measures 52-53-54-55-56-57 cm / 20½"-21"-21¼"-21⅝"-22"-22½" bind off 1 stitch in each side (marks the armhole) = 48-52-56-61-67-73 stitches. Continue until the piece measures 68-70-72-74-76-78 cm / 26¾"-27½"-28⅜"-29⅛"-30"-30¾". Bind off the middle 18-18-18-19-19-19 stitches for the neck and each shoulder is finished separately. On the next row from the neck decrease 1 stitch = 14-16-18-20-23-26 stitches left for the shoulder. Loosely bind off all stitches when the piece measures 70-72-74-76-78-80 cm / 27½"-28⅜"-29⅛"-30"-30¾"-31½. Work the other shoulder in the same way. FRONT PIECE: Cast on and work as for the back piece until the piece measures 64-65-66-67-68-69 cm / 25¼"-25½"-26"-26⅜"-26¾"-27⅛" = 48-52-56-61-67-73 stitches. Place the middle 12-12-12-13-13-13 stitches on a thread for the neck and each shoulder is finished separately. Continue binding off on each row from the neck as follows: 2 stitches 1 time and 1 stitch 2 times = 14-16-18-20-23-26 stitches left on the shoulder. Loosely bind off all stitches when the piece measures 70-72-74-76-78-80 cm / 27½"-28⅜"-29⅛"-30"-30¾"-31½. Work the other shoulder in the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams. LEFT SLEEVE: You now work up stitches along the armhole at the top of the jumper and the sleeve is worked back and forth with circular needle, top down. Start where the 1 stitch where bind off for armhole on the left front piece and work up 36-38-40-42-44-46 stitches from the right side with 1 strand of each quality (= 2 strands) with circular needle size 9 mm / US 13. Knit up stitches along the armhole on the front piece and down along the armhole on the back piece towards the stitch bind off for armhole. Work seed stitch back and forth. When the sleeve measures 3 cm / 1" decrease 1 stitch in each side of the piece. Decrease every 5-4½-4½-3½-3½-3 cm / 2"-1¾"-1¾"-1¼"-1¼"-1" a total of 7-8-8-9-9-10 times = 22-22-24-24-26-26 stitches. When the piece measures 39-38-37-36-34-32 cm / 15¼"-15"-14½"-14¼"-13½"-12½" (shorter measurements in larger sizes because of the shoulder width) knit 1 row where you increase 6-6-8-8-10-10 stitches evenly on the row = 28-28-32-32-36-36 stitches. Change to circular needle size 8 mm / US 11. Work rib, knit 2/ purl 2 for 10 cm / 4", then bind off with knit over knit and purl over purl, the sleeve measures a total of 49-48-47-46-44-42 cm / 19¼"-19"-18½"-18"-17¼"-16½" RIGHT SLEEVE: Work as left sleeve, but start on back piece. Knit up stitches along armhole on back piece and down along armhole on front piece. ASSEMBLY - 2: Sew the side and sleeve seams in one go, in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch. NECK: Work up approx. 56-64 stitches (including the stitches on the thread and divisible by 4) with short circular needle size 8 mm / US 11 and 1 strand of each quality (= 2 strands). Knit 1 round, then work rib, knit 2/ purl 2 over all stitches. Continue with rib for 5 cm / 2", bind off with knit over knit and purl over purl. POCKETS: The piece is worked back and forth. Cast on 20 stitches with 1 strand of each quality (= 2 strands) and circular needle size 9 mm / US 13. Work seed stitch until the piece measures 14 cm / 5½". Change to circular needle size 8 mm / US 11. On the next row from the right side, work rib, knit 2 / purl 2, AT THE SAME TIME increase 6 stitches evenly on row = 26 stitches (finish the rib with knit 2). Work rib for 4 cm / 1½", then bind off with knit over knit and purl over purl. Work 1 more pocket. Sew the pockets onto the jumper, approx. 6-8 cm / 2½"-3" from the bottom edge (see photo). |
