89-19 pattern has increases but I don’t know when or where to put them. And why does row 8 have an extra YO?
19.04.2023 - 23:06DROPS Design answered:
Hi Liz, The increases are shown in the diagram (the oval symbol which means make 1 yarn over between 2 stitches). The yarn over in row 8 should be ignored. Happy knitting!

This pattern states a crochet gauge (Crochet gauge: 20 sts x 26 rows in pattern = 10x10 cm) - is that a typo that should say knitting gauge instead? If not, what is the knitting gauge? Thank you.
08.05.2013 - 23:43DROPS Design answered:
Dear JoAnne, you are correct, it's just a typo that will be edited, it should say : Knitting gauge : 20 sts x 26 rows in pattern = 4" x 4". Happy knitting!

Is that a typo on row 7 with a yo the 4stitch in ? Also why don't you ever show a photo of the back of your patterns
05.04.2013 - 14:25DROPS Design answered:
Dear Dixie, no typo on row 7, a real YO so that you get one more st on row 8. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot !

Gauge: 20 sts x 26 rows in pattern = 10x10 cm Pattern: The pattern is seen from the right side. Pattern 1 (M.1 «52 p/v = ca 20 cm) is 52 rows = approx. 20 cm/8", as shown on left side of chart and is knit once. Pattern 2 (M.2) is the top 8 rows of the chart, and may be repeated. Begin at the bottom of the chart and work up. Garter stitch (in the round): K 1 round, P 1 round. Repeat 1st and 2nd round for garter st. PONCHO The poncho is knit in the round from the neck down. Cast on 142-156-168 sts around 2 needles (so that the cast-on edge will be elastic). Pull out one needle and join, placing a marker at the join. K 8 rows (stockinette st), then knit the next row as follows: * yo, K 2 tog *, repeat * - * around row. Then K 2 rows, adjusting (inc as needed) to 143-156-169 sts on 2nd row. Then knit Pattern 1 at the same time increasing in each repeat as seen in chart until there are 25 sts in each repeat. You may wish to put a marker between each repeat of the chart (11-12-13 markers). After last inc there are 275-300-325 sts. Continue in Pattern 2 until the piece measures approx. 25-26-27 cm from the row with yos at neck. Now knit 4 rows garter st - see above, and then bind off all sts. So that the bound-off edge is not too tight, make a yo every other st and bind off the yo as a st. Crocheted edge: Crochet 1 row with ch-loops around lower edge of poncho as follows: 1 sc in first st, * ch 6, skip over 2 sts, 1 sc in the next st *, repeat * - * and finish with ch 6 and 1 sl st in 1st sc at start of row. |
