Thanks for your help. However, i have another question - from Row 3 onwards do i knit A1 followed by B followed by C with the stocking stitch inbetween or do i try to follow the ACB configuration as laid out in Row 1. This pattern is exquisite and I would like to do it correctly. Must say I am finding it a little confusing as i am not used to knitting off a chart.
09.04.2017 - 17:19DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Ros, you will always have to work as explained, ie: from RS: 5 sts in garter st (= band), A.1 A (= 2 sts), A.1 C (= 15 sts), stocking st over the next 52-52-52-64-68-72 sts , A.1 A ( = 2 sts), A.1B over the next 48-64-80-80-96-112 sts (= repeat A.1B over these sts), A1.C (= 15 sts), stocking st over the next 52-52-52-64-68-72 sts, finish with A.1 A (= 2 sts), A.1 C ( = 15 sts) and 5 sts in garter st (= band). ie on half back piece, you will work A.1A, A.1C, on front piece piece: A.1A, repeat A.1B and finish with A.1C, on half back piece piece A.1A, A.1C with stocking st between diagrams and 5 front band sts on each side. Happy knitting!

Hi. I am really keen to give this a try. However I am not used to knitting with charts. Do the rows number from the bottom or top of the chart

Dear Ros, start reading diagram from RS from the bottom corner on the right side towards the left, and from WS from the left to the right. Read more about diagrams here. Happy knitting!

Hello, I absolutely love your patterns. I have started this design in drops 160-16 and am unclear as to A1.A. When it says A=2 stitches, does that mean knit two together and also do the yarn over as part of the stitch, or do I not do this yarn over but the one that starts section A1.C? I hope to hear from you soon? Kindest Regards, Shamim
18.02.2016 - 15:41DROPS Design answered:
Dear Shanim, A.1 A is worked over 2 sts, ie on 1st row = K2 tog, YO. A.1C is worked over 15 sts, ie start on first row with K2 tog. Happy knitting!

Hei Kristin. Jeg taenker du maaske strikker diagrammet/mönstret forkert. Husk at alle pinde (baade ret og vrang) vises i diagrammet.

Also alles aufgetrennt, zu Nadelstärke 3,5 gewechselt. Soweit so gut.
Das Muster geht bei 213 M genau auf, wenn Sie genau nach der genannten Reihenfolge stricken: 5 M Blende + 2 M A.1A + 15 M A.1C + 52 M glatt re + 2 M A.1A + 48 M A.1B (= 3x A.1B, A.1B hat 16 M) + 15 M A.1C + 52 M glatt re + 2 M A.1A + 15 M A.1C + 5 M kraus re = 213 M.

The placing of the side seam markers do not add up in the size XL on this pattern, there is clearly a mistake in the stitch counts.
14.05.2015 - 15:18DROPS Design answered:
Dear Rachel, markers should match in size XL with sides and pattern: 269 sts = 5 sts in garter st (= band), A.1 A (= 2 sts), A.1 C (= 15 sts), 16 sts in stocking st, Marker, 48 sts in stocking st (= 64 sts in stocking st), A.1 A ( = 2 sts), A.1B over the next 80 sts, A1.C (= 15 sts), 16 sts in stocking st, 2nd marker, 48 sts in stocking st (= 64 sts in stocking st), finish with A.1 A (= 2 sts), A.1 C ( = 15 sts) and 5 sts in garter st (= band). Dear Mrs Nuttall, you will find tension and all required materials on the right side of the picture under tab "Materials", eg tension is 21 sts x 28 rows in stocking st = 10 x 10 cm. Happy knitting!

Cast on 213-229-245-269-293-317 sts (includes 5 band sts in each side towards mid back) on circular needle size 3.5 mm / US 4 with Cotton Light. Work 3 ridges in GARTER ST - see explanation above. Switch to circular needle size 4 mm / US 6 and work as follows - from RS: 5 sts in garter st (= band), A.1 A (= 2 sts), A.1 C (= 15 sts), stockinette st over the next 52-52-52-64-68-72 sts , A.1 A ( = 2 sts), A.1B over the next 48-64-80-80-96-112 sts, A1.C (= 15 sts), stockinette st over the next 52-52-52-64-68-72 sts, finish with A.1 A (= 2 sts), A.1 C ( = 15 sts) and 5 sts in garter st (= band). Now dec 1 st on each side of both markers (= 4 sts dec). Repeat dec every 9-9-9-10-10-10 cm / 3½''-3½''-3½''-4''-4''-4'' 4 times in total = 197-213-229-253-277-301 sts.
