When the piece measures 8 cm dec and inc at the side as on back = 35-39-42-45-48 sts. Read the entire next section before knitting: Neckband: When the piece measures 32-34-36-38-40 cm dec 1 st at the center front edge for V-neck as follows: every other row 3-3-3-4-5 times, every 4 rows 3 times, and every 6 rows 3 times. Armhole: When the piece measures 35-36-37-38-39 cm bind off for armhole at the side as on back. After all armhole and neck shaping is complete 19-20-20-20-20 sts remain on shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 54-56-58-60-62 cm. Left front: Cast on and knit the same as the right reversing all shaping. Sleeve: Cast on 38-38-44-44-44 sts on smaller needles with 1 strand sage Silke-Tweed + 1 strand Vivaldi. Knit Stripe pattern - see instructions above - but the first 3 cm of the pattern knit in rib, keeping 1 edge st in garter st at each side. Change to mid-size needles and continue the pattern in stockinette st. When the piece measures 11 cm inc 1 st at each side every 5-4-4.5-4-3 cm a total of 8-9-8-9-11 times = 54-56-60-62-66 sts. When sleeve measures 49-47-46-45-44 cm bind off for sleeve cap at each side every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2-3-2-2-2 times and 1 st 2-3-6-8-9 times, then bind off 2 sts at each side until the piece measures 56-56-57-57-58 cm, then bind off 3 sts 1 time at each side. Bind off the remaining sts, the piece measures approx. 57-57-58-58-58 cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Neckband/button band: Due to the large number of sts, use a circular needle. Put a marker on the fronts where the neck shaping begins (= 22 cm from shoulder). Pick up approx. 102-120 sts (divisible by 3) along left side on smaller needles with 1 strand pink Silke-Tweed + 1 strand Vivaldi – starting at center back, around front neckband and down center front edge. Knit rib as follows (row 1 = wrong side): start with 3 sts in garter st and P 3 from bottom edge, continue with K 3, P 3 over remaining sts (from right side there will be 3 sts in garter st and K 3 at lower edge). When band measures 4 cm bind off all sts in rib from lower edge up to the marker indicating start of neck shaping = approx. 54-69 sts (divisible by 3). Put the remaining sts on a st holder = approx. 48-51 sts (divisible by 3). Repeat along right button band but after 1 cm make 5-5-5-6-6 buttonholes evenly distributed on the row as follows: 1 buttonhole = K 2 tog (for nicest appearance make buttonholes in a P 3), yo. The bottom buttonhole should be 2 cm from bottom edge and the top buttonhole approx. 1 cm from the marker. Sew neckband at center back. Collar: Put sts from the 2 st holders on the same needle = approx. 96-102 sts. With Puddel and larger needles, knit the next row as follows: * K 1, K 2 tog, K 2 tog *, repeat from * - * until 1 or 2 sts remain on needles, K to end = approx. 58-62 sts. Change to stockinette st, keeping 2 sts in garter st at each side. Put a marker at each shoulder (there will be 12 sts between markers at the back). When the collar measures 5 cm inc 1 st at each side of each marker 4 times every other row = 74-78 sts. When the collar measures 13 cm knit 2 rows garter st over all sts, then bind off all sts with 2 strands Puddel. Note: if you do not wish to have the collar in Puddel you can bind off the entire neckband at the same time as buttonbands. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams using edge sts as a seam allowance. Sew on buttons. |
