Hello! The pattern is gorgeous but I find the pattern very difficult to understand! Is there a possibility the pattern could be re-written for better understanding?

Bon tricot!

Pattern: See diagram. The diagram shows the pattern from the RS and the entire pattern is worked in stockinette st. Rib: * K1 into back of loop, P1 *, repeat from *-*. Body: The sweater is worked in the round on circular needle and cut for armholes afterwards. Cast on 180-200 sts on circular needle size 2.5 MM = US 1.5 with grey and work 6 cm = 2⅜" rib. Change to circular needle size 4 MM = US 6 and K 1 round, at the same time inc 62-66 sts evenly on first round = 242-266 sts. Continue in M.1 (beg by arrow for your size and work pattern on front piece, beg by arrow again and repeat pattern on back piece). Remember the knitting gauge! When piece measures 31 cm = 12¼" work M.2 (as described for M.1). At the same time when piece measures 33 cm = 13" inc 5 sts each side (to be cut for armhole afterwards and not included in pattern). After M.2 continue in M.3 (beg by arrow for your size and work pattern on front piece, beg by arrow again and repeat pattern on back piece). After M.3 work M.4, but after 1 row bind off the middle 2 sts for split mid front and complete piece back and forth on needle. Bind off to shape the neckline towards mid front on every other row: 2 and 3 sts alternately until you have bind off 24 sts each side (= 50 sts for neck in total). Bind off remaining sts after M.4, piece measures approx 64 cm = 25¼". Sleeve: Cast on 48-52 sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 MM = US 1.5 with grey and work 5 cm = 2" rib. Change to double pointed needles size 4 MM = US 6 and K 1 round, at the same time inc 9-5 sts evenly on first round = 57-57 sts. Continue in M.1. At the same time inc 2 sts mid under arm a total of 37 times on every * other and 3rd * round alternately = 131-131 sts. When piece measures 41-40 cm = 16⅛"-15¾" work M.2 and then 1 round grey, piece measures approx 49-48 cm = 19¼"-19". Now work 5 rounds in reverse stockinette st (for sewing sleeve to body piece). Bind off. Assembly: Insert a marking thread in the middle of the inc sts for armhole. Sew 2 seams on a sewing machine around the marking thread, 1st seam = ½ st from the MT, 2nd seam = ½ st from the 1st seam. Cut for armholes. Sew the shoulder seams. Pick up approx 100 sts round the neck on circular needle size 3.5 MM = US 4 with grey from mid front and work 2.5 cm = ⅜" rib back and forth on needle, change to off-white, and bind off in rib. Place the right side on neckline over the left side mid front and fasten. Set in sleeves as follows: sew the last row in stockinette st on sleeves to row after machine seam on armhole. Turn sweater inside out and fasten piece in reverse stockinette st on sleeve to body piece. |
