Witam serdecznie .

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge = knit 2 rows. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.6. The diagrams show all rows in the pattern from the right side. INCREASE TIP: Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over which is worked twisted on the next row to avoid a hole. DECREASE TIP (for sleeves): Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, purl 2 together/knit 2 twisted together (depending on the last stitch in A.1), knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), purl 2 together/knit 2 twisted together (depending on the next stitch in A.1). ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- SWEATER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The back and front pieces are worked back and forth with circular needle, separately. Start by casting on stitches for the diagonal shoulders and neckline, then work pattern top down. The sleeves are worked in the round with double pointed needles / circular needle, top down. The piece is sewn together and the neck worked in the round to finish. BACK PIECE: Begin on the left shoulder when piece lies flat (it becomes the right shoulder when garment is worn). Read the next section before starting. Cast on 3-5-9-7-5-9 stitches with circular needle size 5 MM = US 8, 1 strand DROPS Karisma and 1 strand DROPS Kid-Silk (2 strands). Work A.1 back and forth over all stitches (row 1 = right side) – AT THE SAME TIME cast on stitches for the diagonal shoulder at the end of each row from the right side as follows: 4-4-4-5-6-6 stitches 6 times (the new stitches are worked into A.1, but the outermost stitch by the armhole is worked in GARTER STITCH – read description above). AT THE SAME TIME, when the piece measures 2 cm = ¾", measured from the top of the shoulder, cast on stitches for the neck at the end of each row from the wrong side as follows: 1 stitch 2 times. When all the stitches are cast on for the shoulder and neck there are 29-31-35-39-43-47 stitches and the last row was worked from the wrong side. Cut the strand. Lay the piece to one side and work the right shoulder. Right shoulder when back piece lies flat (it becomes the left shoulder when garment is worn): Cast on 3-5-9-7-5-9 stitches with circular needle size 5 MM = US 8, 1 strand DROPS Karisma and 1 strand DROPS Kid-Silk (2 strands). Work A.1 back and forth over all stitches (row 1 = right side) – AT THE SAME TIME cast on stitches for the diagonal shoulder at the end of each row from the wrong side as follows: 4-4-4-5-6-6 stitches 6 times (the new stitches are worked into A.1, but the outermost stitch by the armhole is worked in garter stitch). AT THE SAME TIME, when the piece measures 2 cm = ¾", measured from the top of the shoulder, cast on stitches for the neck at the end of each row from the right side as follows: 1 stitch 2 times. Work back from the wrong side = 29-31-35-39-43-47 stitches. On the next row (right side) join the 2 pieces as follows: Work the right shoulder (1 garter stitch, continue A.1 over the next 28-30-34-38-42-46 stitches), cast on 23-25-25-25-25-27 stitches for the neck (mid-back), continue A.1 over 28-30-34-38-42-46 stitches from the left shoulder and finish with 1 garter stitch = 81-87-95-103-111-121 stitches. Continue A.1 back and forth with 1 garter stitch on each side until the piece measures 12-13-14-14-15-16 cm = 4¾"-5⅛"-5½"-5½"-6"-6¼" measured from the top of the shoulder. Now work pattern as follows: A.2: Work the first row as follows from the right side: 1 garter stitch, work A.2 until there are 2 stitches left, increasing 4 stitches evenly spaced over these stitches – read INCREASE TIP, work the first stitch in A.2 (on row 7 in the diagram this stitch is knitted), finish with 1 garter stitch = 85-91-99-107-115-125 stitches. Continue this pattern – AT THE SAME TIME on the next to last row in A.2 increase 6-8-8-8-8-6 stitches evenly spaced = 91-99-107-115-123-131 stitches. A.3 (including armhole): When A.2 is finished in height, work as follows from the right side: 1 garter stitch, A.3A, work A.3B 10-11-12-13-14-15 times, A.3C and 1 garter stitch. Continue this pattern – AT THE SAME TIME when the piece measures 18-19-20-21-22-23 cm = 7"-7½"-8"-8¼"-8¾"-9" measured outermost along the armhole (the piece measures approx. 24-25-26-27-28-29 cm = 9½"-9¾"-10¼"-10⅝"-11"-11⅜" measured from the top of the shoulder), cast on 2 stitches for the armholes at the end of the next 2 rows = 95-103-111-119-127-135 stitches. Continue A.3 with 1 garter stitch and 2 stockinette stitches outermost on each side. Work A.3 2½-2½-2½-3-3-3 times in height (in sizes S, M and L the pattern finishes after row 8 in the diagrams on the 3rd repeat). The piece measures approx. 33-34-35-37-38-39 cm = 13"-13⅜"-13¾"-14½"-15"-15¼", measured from the top of the shoulder. A.2: When A.3 is finished, work as follows from the right side: 1 garter stitch, work A.2 until there are 2 stitches left, decreasing 10-12-12-12-12-10 stitches evenly over these stitches, work the first stitch in A.2 (on row 7 in the diagram this stitch is knitted), 1 garter stitch = 85-91-99-107-115-125 stitches. Continue this pattern – AT THE SAME TIME, on the next to last row in A.2, increase 11-13-13-13-13-11 stitches evenly spaced = 96-104-112-120-128-136 stitches. A.4: When A.2 is finished in height, work as follows from the right side: 1 garter stitch, 1 stockinette stitch, A.4A, work A.4B 11-12-13-14-15-16 times, 1 garter stitch. Continue this pattern until A.4 is finished in height. A.5: Work the first row as follows from the right side: 1 garter stitch, work A.5 until there are 2 stitches left, decreasing 11-13-13-13-13-11 stitches evenly spaced over these stitches, work the first stitch in A.5 (on row 5 in the diagram this stitch is knitted), 1 garter stitch = 85-91-99-107-115-125 stitches. Continue this pattern until A.5 is finished in height. A.1: Work the first row as follows from the right side: 1 garter stitch, work A.1 until there are 2 stitches left, work the first stitch in A.1 so the pattern is symmetrical, 1 garter stitch. Continue this pattern until the piece measures 53-55-57-59-61-63 cm = 21"-21⅝"-22½"-23¼"-24"-24¾", measured from the top of the shoulder (approx. 3-4-5-4-5-6 cm = 1⅛"-1½"-2"-1½"-2"-2⅜" of A.1). Now work rib with cables as described below. RIB WITH CABLES: Change to circular needle size 3.5 MM = US 4. Knit 1 row from the right side and increase 59-65-73-77-83-91 stitches evenly spaced = 144-156-172-184-198-216 stitches. Work as follows from the wrong side: 3 garter stitches, * purl 2, knit 2 *, work from *-* until there are 5 stitches left, purl 2 and 3 garter stitches. Work the next row as follows from the right side: 3 garter stitches, work A.6 until there are 5 stitches left, work the first 2 stitches in A.6 so the pattern is symmetrical, 3 garter stitches. Continue this pattern for 8 cm = 3⅛". Bind off a little loosely. The piece measures approx. 61-63-65-67-69-71 cm = 24"-24¾"-25½"-26⅜"-27⅛"-28", measured from the top of the shoulder. FRONT PIECE: Begin with the left shoulder when piece lies flat (it is also the left shoulder when garment is worn). Read the whole section before starting. Cast on 3-5-9-7-5-9 stitches with circular needle size 5 MM = US 8, 1 strand DROPS Karisma and 1 strand DROPS Kid-Silk (2 strands). Work A.1 back and forth over all stitches (row 1 = right side) – AT THE SAME TIME cast on stitches for the diagonal shoulder at the end of each row from the right side as follows: 4-4-4-5-6-6 stitches 6 times (the new stitches are worked into A.1, but the outermost stitch on by the armhole is worked in garter stitch). AT THE SAME TIME when the piece measures 4-4-4-6-6-6 cm = 1½"-1½"-1½"-2⅜"-2⅜"-2⅜" measured from the top of the shoulder, cast on stitches for the neck at the end of each row from the wrong side as follows: 1 stitch 2 times and 2 stitches 3 times. When all the stitches are cast on for the shoulder and neck there are 35-37-41-45-49-53 stitches and the last row was worked from the wrong side. Cut the strand. Lay the piece to one side and work the right shoulder. Right shoulder when piece lies flat (it is also the right shoulder when garment is worn): Cast on 3-5-9-7-5-9 stitches with circular needle size 5 MM = US 8, 1 strand DROPS Karisma and 1 strand DROPS Kid-Silk (2 strands). AT THE SAME TIME when the piece measures 4-4-4-6-6-6 cm = 1½"-1½"-1½"-2⅜"-2⅜"-2⅜", measured from the top of the shoulder, cast on stitches for the neck at the end of each row from the right side as follows: 1 stitch 2 times and 2 stitches 3 times = 35-37-41-45-49-53 stitches. On the next row (right side) join the 2 pieces as follows: Work 1 garter stitch, continue A.1 over the next 34-36-40-44-48-52 stitches from the right shoulder, cast on 11-13-13-13-13-15 stitches for the neck (mid-front), continue A.1 over 34-36-40-44-48-52 stitches from the left shoulder and finish with 1 garter stitch = 81-87-95-103-111-121 stitches. Continue A.1 back and forth with 1 garter stitch on each side until the piece measures 12-13-14-14-15-16 cm = 4¾"-5⅛"-5½"-5½"-6"-6¼", measured from the top of the shoulder. Now work pattern and cast on stitches for the armholes in the same way as on the back piece to finished length. SLEEVES: Cast on 57-61-63-67-71-73 stitches with short circular needle size 5 MM = US 8, 1 strand DROPS Karisma and 1 strand DROPS Kid-Silk (2 strands). Work 3 ridges (see GARTER STITCH above) back and forth over all stitches. Then join the sleeve and work in the round with short circular needle/double pointed needles size 5 MM = US 8. Knit 1 round. Insert 1 marker-thread at the beginning of the round and allow it to follow your work onwards; it is used when decreasing under the sleeve. Work as follows: Knit 1, work A.1 until there are 2 stitches left on the round, work the first stitch in A.1 so the pattern is symmetrical, knit 1. Continue this pattern. When the sleeve measures 3-3-3-3-4-4 cm = 1⅛"-1⅛"-1⅛"-1⅛"-1½"-1½" from the cast-on edge, decrease 2 stitches under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 6-4½-4-3½-2½-2½ cm = 2⅜"-1⅝"-1½"-1¼"-1"-1" a total of 7-9-9-10-12-12 times = 43-43-45-47-47-49 stitches. Work until the sleeve measures 42-42-40-39-37-35 cm = 16½"-16½"-15¾"-15¼"-14½"-13¾". There is 6 cm = 2⅜" left to finished length. Change to double pointed needles size 3.5 MM = US 4. Knit 1 round and increase 25-25-27-25-29-27 stitches evenly spaced (do not increase the 2 knitted stitches under the sleeve) = 68-68-72-72-76-76 stitches. Begin the round one stitch before the marker-thread and work A.6 17-17-18-18-19-19 times on the round – NOTE: The first 2 stitches in A.6 are worked over the 2 knitted stitches under the sleeve. Work this rib for 6 cm = 2⅜". Bind off a little loosely. The sleeve measures approx. 48-48-46-45-43-41 cm = 19"-19"-18"-17¾"-17"-16⅛". Work the other sleeve in the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams. Sew the side seams from the armholes down to the rib, inside the 1 edge stitch (= 8 cm = 3⅛" split in each side). Sew the sleeve cap to the armhole inside the 1 edge stitch on the body/cast-on edge on the sleeve. Sew together the openings under the sleeve – see sketch. DOUBLE NECK: Start by one shoulder seam and knit up from the right side inside the cast-on edge, with short circular needle size 3.5 MM = US 4 and 1 strand of each quality (2 strands), 92-96-96-100-100-104 stitches around the neckline. Work rib (knit 1 purl 1) in the round for 13-13-13-15-15-15 cm = 5⅛"-5⅛"-5⅛"-6"-6"-6". Bind off a little loosely. Fold the neck double to the inside and sew down. To avoid the neck being tight and rolling outwards, it is important that the seam is elastic. |
