Bind off all sts when Pattern 1 and Pattern 2 are finished and the work measures 57 (57, 59.5) cm [22-⅜" (22-⅜" - 23-⅜")]. Back: = 114 (122, 132). Shape armholes as on the front: 88 (88, 92) sts. When the work measures 55 (55, 57.5) cm [21-⅝" (21-⅝" - 22-⅝")], bind off the center 28 (30, 30) sts for the neck. Then bind off 2 sts at each neck edge on the next row. Bind off all sts when the work measures 57 (57, 59.5) cm [22-⅜" (22-⅜" - 23-⅜")]. Right sleeve: Cast on 52 (52, 56) sts on smaller double pointed needles with black; join and place a marker at the join. Knit 2 cm Border. Change to larger double pointed needles and work Pattern 2 to finished dimensions. At the same time, when the work measures 5 cm [2"], inc 1 st at each side of marker every 4th row 25 (27, 25) times = 102 (106, 106) sts. When the work measures 44 (43, 42) cm [17-⅜" (17" - 16.5")], bind off 3 sts each side of marker and knit the rest back and forth on needle. Shape sleeve caps: bind off at each side edge every other row 3 sts 2 times, 2 sts 2 times, dec 1 st 8 (11, 13) times, bind off 2 sts 3 times, 4 sts 2 times. The work measures approximately 56 (57, 57) cm [22" (22-⅜" - 22-⅜")]. Left sleeve: Cast on and knit like the right sleeve, but knit Pattern 1 instead of Pattern 2. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approximately 115 to 130 sts along the left front on smaller circular needles with black and knit 3 cm Border, bind off all sts. Repeat along the right front, but after 1 cm [3/8"] make 6 buttonholes evenly spaced along front (1 buttonhole = bind off 2 sts and cast on 2 new sts over the bound-off sts on the next row (remember to make matching buttonholes on the folded edge). Pick up approximately 110 to 115 sts around the neck and a bit into the buttonband from the wrong side on smaller double pointed needles with black and knit garter st for 10 cm [4"], increasing 1 st each side every 6th row. Sew on the sleeves. Sew the right sleeve with Pattern 2 to the right front and the left sleeve with Pattern 1 to the left front. Fold all edges over against the wrong side and sew. Sew on buttons. |
