Hello, how do you go about doing the decrease? The pattern shows how to increase to the desired size, and then tells you ow to do a stretchy bind off, but no info on decreasing.
09.06.2019 - 20:31DROPS Design answered:
Dear Claire, you should decrease by K 2 together at the beg of row 3 - see video here - then cast off lossely with yarn overs - see video here. Happy knitting!

Please can you suggest another colour combination from your Delight range? I've already made one version in colours shown, received by a very happy god-daughter - hard to tell which colours would work well together from online photos and can't afford to buy wrong colour pairing. Suggestions accompanied by picture of a little bit of knitting would be very gratefully received! Best wishes and Thank You to DROPS Design for a lovely free pattern - Mezry, Glasgow, Scotland

Dear Mezry, for any help choosing a colour, please contact your DROPS store even per mail or telephone, they will suggest you the best matching colors matching your wishes. Happy knitting!

Hola! El chal debe quedar simétrico? Esque me queda un lado más largo.... Gracias!
29.11.2018 - 19:27DROPS Design answered:
Hola Neus.

This pattern seems to be for a small to medium, what do I need to add to make it for a large as I am a hefty lady and have already started knitting it but not half way yet. Many thanks

Dear Marta, you can just repeat rows 2-5 until you reach the desired size. Happy Knitting!

INFORMATION FOR PATTERN: GARTER STITCH (back and forth): 1 ridge = knit 2 rows. STRIPES: Work entire shawl in stripes. Work 1 ridge with green/beige and 1 ridge olive/rust/plum *, repeat from *-* the entire piece. Do not cut the yarn between every stripe. Let the strands move up along the side of piece but make sure that they are not too tight. ---------------------------------------------------------- SHAWL: Work piece back and forth on circular needle. The entire shawl is worked in GARTER STITCH - see explanation above. Cast on 3 stitches on circular needle size 4 mm / US 6 with green/beige and knit 1 row. Now continue to work with increases, decreases and STRIPES - see explanation above. Work as follows: ROW 1 (= right side): Knit 1, 1 yarn over, knit 1, 1 yarn over and knit 1 = 5 stitches. ROW 2 (= wrong side): Knit all stitches and yarn overs. Switch to olive/rust/plum. ROW 3 (= right side): Knit 2 together (loosely), knit until 1 stitch remains, 1 yarn over and knit 1. ROW 4 (= wrong side): Knit all stitches and yarn overs. Switch to green/beige. ROW 5 (= right side): Knit until 2 stitches remain, 1 yarn over, knit 1, 1 yarn over and knit 1. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! Then repeat ROWS 2 to 5 until there are approx. 221 stitches on needle or work to desired length (make sure to have enough yarn for bind-off). To make an elastic edge, bind off as follows: * bind off 2 stitches, make 1 yarn over and bind off yarn over as regular stitch *, repeat from *-* until all stitches have been bind off. Cut the yarns and weave in ends. |
