The heel decrease just leaves big holes? i watched the video, which is super hard to see, and im doing the same thing she's doing but mine has these big holes at the turn
23.11.2020 - 00:44DROPS Design answered:
Dear Bb, try to tighten the yarn somewhat more if you have some holes - do this when you decrease as well as when you work the first stitch after turning. Hope this helps. Happy knitting!

What does "insert one marker on heel" mean?
23.11.2020 - 00:23DROPS Design answered:
Dear Bb, you need here to insert a marker on the last row worked to be able to measure the length of the foot before working the toe. Happy knitting!

Thanks for this lovely pattern! I just finished a pair and found that the pattern does not match up very well at the end of each round. What can I do to improve the continuity?

Dear Ming, this video shows how to avoid jog when working stripes and can be adapted for fair isle patterns. Happy knitting!

See tähendab, kahandama peab sel sama parempidisel real. Head kudumist!

Hei! Hilsen Kristine
29.12.2014 - 13:21DROPS Design answered:
Hei Kristine.

20.10.2014 - 19:16DROPS Design answered:
Hej Luab, Jo men A.3 viser 4 m (ikke 12m) i diagrammet og 52/4 = 13 gange ifølge diagrammet. God fornøjelse!

PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.3. Pattern is worked in stockinette st. HEEL DECREASE: Row 1 (= RS): Work until 7-7-8-8 sts remain, slip next st as if to K, K 1, psso, turn piece. Row 2 (= WS): Work until 7-7-8-8 sts remain, slip next st as if to P, P 1, psso, turn piece. Row 3 (= RS): Work until 6-6-7-7 sts remain, slip next st as if to K, K 1, psso, turn piece. Row 4 (= WS): Work until 6-6-7-7 sts remain, slip next st as if to P, P 1, psso, turn piece. Continue dec like this with 1 st less before every dec until there are 12-14-14-14 sts on needle. DECREASE TIP: K tog the last 2 sts before marker on mid on top of foot twisted (i.e. work in the back loop of st instead of front) and K tog the first 2 sts after last marker on top of foot. DECREASE TIP TOE: Before marker: K 2 tog. After marker: K 2 twisted tog (i.e. work in back loop of st instead of front). ---------------------------------------------------------- SOCK: Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 64-64-68-68 sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm / US 1.5 with light pearl gray. Work rib = K 2/P 2 for 4 cm / 1½''. Switch to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm / US 4. Work 1 round in stockinette st while AT THE SAME TIME dec 4-4-8-8 sts evenly = 60 sts. Work A.1. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! Then work A.2 - AT THE SAME TIME on first round of A.2 dec 4 sts evenly = 56 sts on needle. After A.2 work A.3 AT THE SAME TIME on first round dec 8-4-0-0 sts evenly = 48-52-56-56 sts. When A.3 has been worked, piece measures approx. 20 cm / 8''. Then work in stockinette st with light pearl gray until finished measurements. When piece measures 23-24-25-26 cm / 9"-9½"-9 3/4"-10 1/4", keep the first 12-13-14-14 sts on needle for heel, slip the next 24-26-28-28 sts on 1 stitch holder (= mid upper foot) and keep the last 12-13-14-14 sts on needle for heel. Continue in stockinette st back and forth over the 24-26-28-28 heel sts for 5-5½-6-6½ cm / 2"-2 1/4"-2 3/8"-2½". Insert 1 marker on heel. Then work HEEL DECREASE - see explanation above. After heel dec, pick up 11-12-13-14 sts on each side of heel and slip the 24-26-28-28 sts from stitch holder back on needle = 58-64-68-70 sts. Insert 1 marker on each side of the 24-26-28-28 sts on top of foot. Continue in stockinette st in the round while AT THE SAME TIME dec in each side READ DECREASE TIP. Repeat dec every other round a total of 7-8-8-7 times = 44-48-52-56 sts. Continue until piece measures 18-20-22-25 cm / 7"-8"-8 3/4"-9 3/4" from marker on heel (= approx. 4-4-5-5 cm / 1½"-1½"-2"-2" remain). Insert 1 marker in each side so that there are 22-24-26-28 sts on top of foot and 22-24-26-28 sts under foot. Continue working in stockinette st while AT THE SAME TIME dec for toes on each side of both markers - READ DECREASE TIP TOE! Repeat dec on every other round 4-4-5-5 times in total and then on every round 5-6-6-7 times in total = 8 sts remain on needle. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining sts. Tighten tog and fasten the yarn tightly. |
