The front band righthand side refers. It says knit 89cm....then continue on band 8cm..the according to diagram it seems to get shorter from the neck side. If I knit 16 sts and turn do I have to knit 4 stitches short until I reach the edge on centre front or do I continue knitting 16 sts with short rows and for what length. The diagram show as if band continues for 8 cm. Theñ short rows start from shoulder edge.could you please explain if rows gets slanted as you go along on 16 sts
16.08.2019 - 06:19DROPS Design answered:
Dear Karen, on right front piece you will work short rows starting from RS and work *2 rows over the first 16 sts only (= the last 4 sts are unworked), 2 rows over all sts*, repeat these 4 rows until the short rows measure 8 cm towards shoulder (= towards the 4 sts left unworked every other ridge). The right side of collar seen from RS will be slanted due to the short rows. Happy knitting!

Dear DROPS team, I have a question about the measurements for size L. I need to add bust darts and was doing the math for the bust circumference. Your pattern description and diagram give 98 cm for a size L. I was looking at the circumference at just before binding off for the armholes and calculated (excl. edge stitches): back 54 sts + front pieces stockinette 22 x 2 = 44 + front panel 18 = TOTAL 114 sts, which would be 104 cm. Am I making a mistake or looking at the wrong place? Many thanks!
13.09.2018 - 11:33DROPS Design answered:
Dear Ramona, there will be 21 sts stocking st on each front piece (less the edge st on the side) - the difference may come from the width of band sts. You can consider the cm /number of sts in the pattern to make your calculation if your tension is correct. Remember your DROPS store will provide you any further individual assistance, even per mail or telephone. Happy knitting!

Just working on this wonderful pattern now in a nice plum color. My question is the short row for the collar size 3xl the pattern reads "* Work 1 ridge over all sts (= 2 rows K).On next row from WS, K 14-14-14-16-16-16 sts, turn and K back *. Repeat from *-* until piece measures 7-7-8-8-9-9 cm from where shoulder was cast off (short side). " so on the WS I always work 16 sts turn and work back? for 9 cm It has been a while since i have worked short rows Thanks for the help Heather
13.08.2016 - 20:04DROPS Design answered:
Dear Heather, work the short rows as follows: *Row 1 (WS): K all sts, Row 2 (RS): K all sts, Row 3: K16 sts, Row 4: K16 sts*, and repeat from *-* ie these 4 rows until shorter side (beg of rows from WS = end of rows from RS) measures approx. 9 cm from shoulder. Happy knitting!

Work in stockinette st with A.1 over band until piece measures 12-12-13-13-14-14 cm / 4¾"-4¾"-5⅛"-5⅛"-5½"-5½". Then dec 1 st after 1 edge st at beg of row from RS. When piece measures 47-46-45-44-43-43 cm / 18½"-18"-17¾"-17¼"-17"-17" (shorter measurements in the larger sizes because of longer sleeve cap) bind off at beg of every row in each side for sleeve cap as follows: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1 time, and 1 st 3-3-4-5-6-5 times. Then bind off 2 sts in each side until piece measures approx. 56 cm / 22", then bind off 3 sts 1 time in each side. Bind off the remaining sts, the piece measures approx. 57 cm / 22½". ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulder seams and sew in sleeves inside 1 edge st. Sew sleeve and side seams in one inside 1 edge st. Sew bands tog mid back for collar - NOTE! Seam should be at the back so that it is not visible when collar is folded down. Sew collar along neckline in the back of neck. Sew the buttons on to the left band. POCKET: Worked back and forth on needle. Cast on 18-18-18-20-20-20 sts (includes 1 edge st in each side) on circular needle size 8 mm / US 11 with Snow. Work in stockinette st with 1 edge st in garter st in each side until piece measures 16-16-16-18-18-18 cm / 6¼"-6¼"-6¼"-7"-7"-7". Then work 2 ridges (= K4 rows) before binding off (piece measures approx. 18-18-18-20-20-20 cm / 7"-7"-7"-8"-8"-8" vertically). Knit another pocket the same way. Sew pockets on to front piece, approx. 12-12-12-13-13-13 cm / 4¾"-4¾"-4¾"-5⅛"-5⅛"-5⅛" from bottom edge and 18-18-19-19-20-20 cm / 7"-7"-7½"-7½"-8"-8" in from mid front. |
