Bon tricot!

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagram A.1. RAGLAN: Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over, on next round work yarns over as explained below: BEFORE RAGLAN STITCH: Slip stitch off left needle and put it back on left needle but the opposite way (insert left needle in from behind when slipping it back on needle). Knit yarn overs in front loop of stitches to avoid holes. Then work the new stitches in stockinette stitch. AFTER RAGLAN STITCH: Knit yarn overs in back loop of stitches to avoid holes. Then work the new stitches in stockinette stitch. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 stitch on each side of marker thread as follows: Work until 3 stitches remain before marker thread and knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker thread is in the middle of these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked (= 2 stitches decreased). ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- SWEATER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: In this pattern needles of different length have been used, begin with fitting length for number of stitches and switch as needed. Work neck edge and yoke in the round on circular needle from right shoulder back, and work top down. When yoke is done, divide piece for body and sleeves. Work body down wards in the round on circular needle while putting the sleeves aside. Then work sleeves downwards in the round on needle. Fold the neck edge double against the wrong side and fasten. If 0 is given for the chosen size, it means that you skip the information until next information. NECK EDGE: Cast on 90-96-102-102-108-114 stitches on circular needle size 5.5 MM = US 9 with 1 strand DROPS Daisy and 1 strand DROPS Kid-Silk (= 2 strands), or 1 strand DROPS Merino Extra Fine and 1 strand DROPS Kid-Silk (= 2 strands). Switch to circular needle size 4 MM = US 6 (cast on on a larger needle to get an elastic cast-on edge). Work rib in the round (= knit 1/purl 2) for 9 cm = 3½". The neck edge is later folded in towards wrong side and assembled to form a neck edge of approx. 4 cm = 1½". Beginning of round is at right shoulder at the back. Insert 1 marker after the first 30-32-33-33-35-36 stitches on round (= approx. mid front), measures piece from this marker. YOKE: Switch to circular needle size 5.5 MM = US 9. Insert 4 markers in piece without working the stitches, insert markers in a stitch and these stitches are called raglan stitches and worked in stockinette stitch. Insert 1st marker in first stitch, count 14 stitches (= sleeve), insert 2nd marker in next stitch, count 29-32-35-35-38-41 stitches (= front piece), insert 3rd marker in next stitch, count 14 stitches (= sleeve), insert 4th marker in next stitch, 29-32-35-35-38-41 stitches remain on round (= back piece). On next round work PATTERN, worked as follows: Work 1 raglan stitch, knit 14 stitches (= sleeve), work 1 raglan stitch, knit 1-3-4-4-6-7 AT THE SAME TIME decrease 0-1-0-0-1-0 stitches evenly over these (= 1-2-4-4-5-7 stitches), insert 1 marker thread on needle, work A.1 (= 27 stitches), insert 1 marker thread on needle, knit 1-2-4-4-5-7 stitches (= front piece), work 1 raglan stitch, knit 14 stitches (= sleeve), work 1 raglan stitch (= sleeve), knit 29-32-35-35-38-41 stitches (= back piece). Remember to follow the knitting gauge! Work in stockinette stitch in the round, A.1 is repeated between marker threads on front piece, and increase at the same time for RAGLAN on each side of the 4 markers - read explanation above. Increase for raglan every other round 16-19-20-22-22-22 times in total = 218-247-262-278-283-290 stitches (= 8 stitches increased on every increase round). Increases for sleeve are now done, but continue to increase for raglan on front piece and back piece on every other round 3-1-1-1-2-4 more times = 230-251-266-282-291-306 stitches on needle (= 4 stitches increased on every increase round). Work without increasing until piece measures 20-21-23-24-25-27 cm = 8"-8¼"-9"-9½"-9¾"-10⅝" from marker after neck edge. Now divide yoke for body and sleeves. DIVIDING FOR BODY AND SLEEVES: AT THE SAME TIME as next round is worked divide yoke for body and sleeves as follows: Work 1 stitch (= belongs to back piece), slip the next 46-52-54-58-58-58 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 8-8-10-12-16-18 new stitches on needle (= in the side mid under sleeve), work 69-73-79-83-87-95 stitches as before (= front piece), slip the next 46-52-54-58-58-58 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 8-8-10-12-16-18 new stitches on needle (= in the side mid under sleeve) and work the last 68-73-78-82-87-94 stitches in stockinette stitch (= back piece). Finish body and sleeves separately. BODY: = 154-163-178-190-207-226 stitches. Insert 1 marker in one side of piece (= in the middle of the 8-8-10-12-16-18 stitches that were cast on under sleeve). Work until marker, round begins here and work in the round. Work stockinette stitch and A.1 as before until piece measures 41-44-46-47-49-51 cm = 16⅛"-17¼"-18"-18½"-19¼"-20" from marker mid front. Switch to circular needles size 4 MM = US 6, work rib (= knit 1/purl 2) while AT THE SAME TIME over all stitches increasing 17-20-23-23-27-29 stitches evenly on 1st round = 171-183-201-213-234-255 stitches. When rib measures 4-4-4-5-5-5 cm = 1½"-1½"-1½"-2"-2"-2" bind off all stitches somewhat loosely. Sweater measures 45-48-50-52-54-56 cm = 17¾"-19"-19¾"-20½"-21¼"-22" from marker mid front and approx. 49-52-54-56-58-60 cm = 19¼"-20½"-21¼"-22"-22¾"-23⅝" from the top of shoulder. SLEEVES: Slip 46-52-54-58-58-58 sleeve stitches from one thread on to circular needle size 5.5 MM = US 9 and pick in addition up 1 stitch in each of the 8-8-10-12-16-18 stitches cast on under sleeve = 54-60-64-70-74-76 stitches. Insert 1 marker thread in the middle of the 8-8-10-12-16-18 new stitches under sleeve - round begins at the marker thread. Work in stockinette stitch in the round on needle - AT THE SAME TIME when sleeve measures 2 cm = ¾" from division, decrease mid under sleeve – read DECREASE TIP and decrease as follows: Decrease 2 stitches every 9-5-4-2½-2-2 cm = 3½"-2"-1½"-1"-¾"-¾" 4-7-8-11-12-12 times in total = 46-46-48-48-50-52 stitches. Work until sleeve measures 35-34-32-31-30-28 cm = 13¾"-13⅜"-12½"-12¼"-11¾"-11" from division. Switch to double pointed needles size 4 MM = US 6 and work rib (= knit 1/purl 2) while AT THE SAME TIME increasing 8-8-9-9-10-11 stitches evenly on 1st round = 54-54-57-57-60-63 stitches. When rib measures 8-8-8-9-9-9 cm = 3⅛"-3⅛"-3⅛"-3½"-3½"-3½" bind off all stitches somewhat loosely. Sleeve measures approx. 43-42-40-40-39-37 cm = 17"-16½"-15¾"-15¾"-15¼"-14½" from division. ASSEMBLY: Fold rib at the top of neck down on inside of garment. Fasten rib to get a double neck edge. To avoid a tight neck edge that sticks out it is important to keep the seam elastic. |
