How to knit seed (moss) stitch back and forth

In this DROPS video we show how to knit seed (moss) stitch back and forth. Row 1 (the right side): knit 1 stitch, purl 1 stitch Row 2 (the wrong side): purl over knitted stitch, knit over purled stitch Repeat row 2. How to knit seed (moss) stitch in the round

In this DROPS video we show how to knit seed (or moss) stitch in the round. When you are knitting seed st in the round on a circular needle or double pointed needles it's a great idea to work with an uneven number of sts. You will then get a good transition between K and P sts all the way around, and the beginning of the round will be invisible, You work alternating K1 and P1 around and around. On next round you will then automatically work K over P and P over K, which is what seed st is all about. You must read the pattern to be able to follow. How to knit double seed/moss stitch

In this DROPS video we show how to knit double seed/moss stitch. When you knit double seed st you have 2 K sts next to each other, and 2 K sts above each other. Also 2 P sts beside each other and 2 P sts above each other. Work 1st row like this: repeat P2, K2 until end of row. Second row: K over K and P over P. 3rd row: P over K and K over P. 4th row: As second row. Repeat row 1-4. You must read the pattern to be able to follow. How to knit seed stitch double in height

There are many variations of seed stitch and double seed stitch (aka moss stitch). In this DROPS video we show a version which is worked with alternating K1 and P1 in width. But K2 and P2 over each other in height. We knit 1 edge st each side in garter st (K on all rows). For the pattern to be visible, we have knitted about 2"/5 cm before we continue as follows: SEED ST - DOUBLE IN HEIGHT: (remember K1 edge st each side) Row 1: * K1, P1 *, repeat from * - *. 2nd row: K over K and P over P. Row 3: * P1, K1 *, repeat from * - *. 4th row: P over P and K over K Repeat these 4 rows. You must read the pattern to be able to follow. How to knit double seed (moss) stitch in the round

In this DROPS video we show how to knit double seed (or moss) stitch in the round. When you knit double seed st/moss st in the round on a circular needle you need to cast on a number of sts that can be divided by 4. Then you will get a nice transition between K and P sts all the way around, and you will not be able to see the beginning of the round. You work alternately K 2 and P 2 all way around. Round 1: work K2, P2 around Round 2: work K2, P2 around Round 3: work P2, K2 around Round 4: work P2, K2 around Repeat round 1.-4. It's a good idea to place a marker at the beginning of the round. In our video we show the end of 2nd round, the transition to 3rd round, and then the beginning of 3rd round. You must read the pattern to be able to follow. How to work a moss-stitch rib, with 2 knitted and 2 moss stitches (back and forth)

In this DROPS video we show you how to work a moss-stitch rib, with 2 knitted and 2 moss stitches in width. The textured pattern looks like a normal rib but is more elastic. This textured pattern is called moss-stitch rib and there are many varieties. BEFORE THE VIDEO STARTS: The pattern stitch count is divisible by 4. To work a symmetrical pattern on both sides of the piece, the total stitch count needs to be divisible by 4 + 2. The swatch’s stitch count is divisible by 4 + 2 and, in addition, there is 1 edge stitch on each side. THE VIDEO SHOWS: ROW 1 (right side): Knit. ROW 2 (wrong side): Knit 1 edge stitch, * knit 2 , purl 2 *, repeat from *-* until there are 3 stitches left on the row, knit 2, knit 1 edge stitch. Repeat ROWS 1 - 2.

How to knit broken moss stitch and the loop in DROPS 189-18

In this DROPS video we show how to knit broken moss stich (1), the beginning and end of each rapport (1-4 round), how to cast on 20 new stitches to the in-laid loop, cast off and how to sew the cast-off edge together. We use smaller stitch numbers what it says in the pattern. We have already knitted 2 rapports (= 8 rounds) of broken moss stitches. These potholders are knitted in DROPS Safran, but in the video we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow. You must read the pattern to be able to follow this video properly.
