How to work a moss-stitch rib, with 2 knitted and 2 moss stitches (back and forth)
In this DROPS video we show you how to work a moss-stitch rib, with 2 knitted and 2 moss stitches in width. The textured pattern looks like a normal rib but is more elastic. This textured pattern is called moss-stitch rib and there are many varieties.
BEFORE THE VIDEO STARTS:
The pattern stitch count is divisible by 4. To work a symmetrical pattern on both sides of the piece, the total stitch count needs to be divisible by 4 + 2. The swatch’s stitch count is divisible by 4 + 2 and, in addition, there is 1 edge stitch on each side.
THE VIDEO SHOWS:
ROW 1 (right side): Knit.
ROW 2 (wrong side): Knit 1 edge stitch, * knit 2 , purl 2 *, repeat from *-* until there are 3 stitches left on the row, knit 2, knit 1 edge stitch.
Repeat ROWS 1 - 2.
