In this DROPS video we show how to knit double seed (or moss) stitch in the round.

When you knit double seed st/moss st in the round on a circular needle you need to cast on a number of sts that can be divided by 4. Then you will get a nice transition between K and P sts all the way around, and you will not be able to see the beginning of the round.

You work alternately K 2 and P 2 all way around.
Round 1: work K2, P2 around
Round 2: work K2, P2 around
Round 3: work P2, K2 around
Round 4: work P2, K2 around
Repeat round 1.-4.

It's a good idea to place a marker at the beginning of the round. In our video we show the end of 2nd round, the transition to 3rd round, and then the beginning of 3rd round.

Dear Deni, did you mean this pattern? You can increase on each side of both markers like this: work until 1 st remains before marker, YO, work the next 2 sts as before (marker is in the middle of them), YO - on next round, work the new sts in moss st: either K or P depending on the next/previous stitch on back/front piece, this means pattern will not match anymore until next increase, but when all increases are done, moss stitch will be fit around. Dear Deni, this will depend on your pattern, there will be different way to incrase in the round, you can increase on sides so that the pattern will not fit on the side until 4 sts have been increased, or you can increase evenly and the moss stitch will then be not right lined up. Bonjour Mary, suivez bien les indications de votre modèle, en fonction de ce qui vous est indiqué, vous pourrez par exemple diminuer tout en continuant le motif comme avant, mais il ne se suivra pas avant/après les diminutions en raison de ces mêmes diminutions. Bon tricot!

There are many variations of seed stitch and double seed stitch (aka moss stitch). In this DROPS video we show a version which is worked with alternating K1 and P1 in width. But K2 and P2 over each other in height. We knit 1 edge st each side in garter st (K on all rows). You will then get a good transition between K and P sts all the way around, and the beginning of the round will be invisible, You work alternating K1 and P1 around and around.
