How to knit the start of a zigzag shawl following a chart

In this DROPS video we show how to knit the first 11 rows of our very popular zigzag shawls following a chart.. Cast on 17 sts and P 1 row from WS, then continue as in the video shows, working chart 8 times and finish row with 1 st in stockinette. On all rows from WS purl all sts and yo's. How to knit a shawl from center and out

In this DROPS video we show a pretty technique to knit a shawl from the center and out. This technique is frequently used for our shawl design. The pattern will say something like knit 6 rows over 3 sts and at the end of 6th row do not turn piece but rotate 90 degrees clockwise, pick up 3 sts along the edge (i.e. 1 st in every ridge (1 ridge = 2 rows in garter st)), rotate piece again, 90 degrees clockwise and pick up 3 sts along cast on edge (i.e. 1 st in every st) = 9 sts on needle. How to knit row 1 – 8 to the shawl in DROPS 204-3

In this DROPS video we show how to work the 8 first rows in the Burning Leaves shawl in DROPS 204-3 that is knitted with English rib. We have already cast on and purl 1 row, and start the video from the 1st row from the wrong side (WS). We also show how to cast off, where we cast off the yarn overs as normal stitches. We do this to avoid the cast off edge being tight. You will find the written description under the pattern/click on the picture below. This shawl is knitted in DROPS Kid Silk, but in the video we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow.

In this video we show how to work the beginning of the Owl Feathers shawl in DROPS 203-13. How to work row 13 in the shawl in DROPS 203-13

In this video we show how to work row 13 in the charts A.1A, A.2, A.3 and A.4A. Special for this row is who to work the circle in a square icon. How to work row 21 and 22 in the shawl in DROPS 203-13

In this video we show how to work row 21 and 22 in the charts A.1A, A.2, A.3 and A.4A. Special for this row is who to increase 4 stitches in 1 stitches and how to work 8 stitches together. How to work 4 stitches in 1 stitch = work 5 stitches in the knitted stitch and yarn over as follows: Knit the yarn over and knitted stitch together, but do not slip them off the needle, *make 1 yarn over the right needle and knit the stitch and yarn over together without slipping them from the needle*, work from *-* a total of 2 times = 5 stitches (i.e. 4 stitches increased). How to decrease 8 stitches together = work 5 stitches and 3 yarn overs together as follows (= a total of 8 stitches): Slip the first 3 stitches and 2 yarn overs onto the right needle as if to knit together, knit the next 2 stitches and 1 yarn over together, pass the 5 slipped stitches (including yarn overs) on the right needle over the knitted together stitches (i.e. 4 stitches decreased) This shawl is worked in DROPS Alpaca and DROPS Delight, but in the video we use a thicker yarn; DROPS Nepal. How to start working a shawl with 2 coloured English rib

In this DROPS video we show how we start working a shawl in 2 coloured English rib, with 2 stitches increased from both right side and wrong side and 4 stitches increased from right side. How to knit M.1B in DROPS 140-14, 133-1 and 130-1

In this DROPS video we show how to knit chart M.1B (last part of chart) used in 3 very popular shawls. We choose to show 2 repeats of the chart next to each other, we placed a white marking thread that shows where 2nd repeat starts (the patterns includes several repeats). 1st row and all WS rows: P on WS - 1st row is not shown in video. 2nd row works from RS and works "K2 tog, yo" across and always end with K1 in last st. 3rd row WS: P all sts 4th row RS: K2 into 1 st, K3, slip 1 st, K 1, psso, K2 tog, K3, K2 into 1 st, repeat over following repeats and end with K1 6th row RS: K2 into 1 st, K2 into 1 st, K3, slip 1 st, K 1, psso, K2 tog, K3, K2 into 1 st, K2 into 1 st, repeat over following repeats and end with K1. For each time you work row 6 and row 10 with 2 times "K2 into 1 st" after each other you will get an additional K stitch on each side of inc in the middle of the repeat. We added an additional marking thread to show the middle of the repeat. You must read the pattern and look at the chart to be able to follow. How to knit the eyelet rows and lace pattern in DROPS 152-16

In this DROPS video we show how to knit the EYELET ROW and LACE PATTERN on the Soir d'Été shawl in DROPS 152-16. First we show how to cast on and knit until we have 17 sts on needle, and then we fast forward to where we start on 3rd row showing the EYELET ROW as explained in the pattern. Then we knit 4th and 5th row. Another fast forward and we have knitted a piece with two eyelet rows and now we show how to knit the LACE PATTERN. How to increase and decrease in DROPS 155-11

In this video we show how you knit the increases and decreases for the Beside You shawl in DROPS 155-11. Cast on 3 sts on circular and K 1 row. Continue as follows: ROW 1: K 1, 1 loose YO, K all sts. ROW 2: K all sts and YO. Then repeat 1st and 2nd row until you have the number of stitches as mentioned in pattern. Then cast off as follows to make an elastic edge like these: * Cast off 2 sts, make a YO and loosely cast off YO *, repeat from *-* the entire row. How to knit an edge on a shawl, while casting off

In this DROPS video we show you how to knit an edge on your shawl and at the same time binding of the stitches. When you are ready with the sts on the shawl don't turn the piece but cast on 14 new sts for shawl edge from WS. Turn the piece, K1 row over the new sts (= RS), turn the piece and knit according to diagram = 1st row in the diagram is WS. In this DROPS video we already knitted the first repeat of the edge. We start off with the second repeat of the edge: 1st row = WS: Slip 1st st as to P, K1, 1YO, K2 tog, k1 to 4 st remain of the edge sts, 1 YO, K2 tog, 2 YO, K the last two stitches. Turn the piece 2nd row = RS: K2, work only 1 of the double YO, drop the second one. K to 3 st remain of the edge st, 1 YO, K2 tog and work the last st together with the first free st from the shawl. Turn the piece and knit 3rd row of the diagram and so on. In the last row from the diagram on the RS we bind off the first 8 sts, knit the rest of the edge sts according to diagram = 14 sts on the needle and repeat the diagram again.
