How to work a special cable without cable needle

In this DROPS video we show how we work a cable a little bit out of the ordinary. Cast on a number of stitches multiple by 9+2 + 2 (= 1 edge stitch on each side). We have cast on 18+2 +2 (=1 edge stitch in each side). Knit the edge stitches in each row. ROW 1 (right side): Knit 1 edge stitch, * purl 2, knit 2, knit 3 in next stitch, knit 1, knit 3 in next stitch, knit 2 *, repeat * - * 1 more time, purl 2 and knit 1 edge stitch. ROW 2 (wrong side): Knit 1 edge stitch, * knit 2, purl 2, put the thread in front of the work and lift the 7 next stitches to the right needle, purl 2 *, repeat * - * 1 more time, knit 2 and knit 1 edge stitch. ROW 3: Knit 1 edge stitch, * purl 2, slip the 2 next stitches of the left needle (put them back), put the 3 next stitches on the right needle, put the 2 loose stitches back on the left needle, put the 3 stitch on the right needle back to the left needle and knit these twisted together, knit 3, slip the next 3 stitch from the left needle (put them in front), put the next 2 stitch on the right needle, put the 3 loose stitches back on the left needle, put the 2 stitches on right needle back to left needle, knit 2, knit 3 twisted together *, repeat * - * 1 more time, purl 2 and knit 1 edge stitch. ROW 4: Knit 1 edge stitch, knit 2, * purl 3, lift the next stitch to right needle, purl 3, knit 2 *, repeat * - * 1 more time and knit 1 edge stitch. Repeat row 1.- 4. to your desired length. How to knit a cable shaped like a heart

In this DROPS video we will show you how to knit a cable shaped as a heart. We knit an edge in each side with 2 stitches = edge stitches and we have already 24 stitches casted on and knitted 2 rows. In the beginning of the video we show row 1-12. Then we show the cable which is knitted 3 times Work as follows: ROW 1 (right side): knit 2 (= edge stitches), purl 4, knit 2, put 2 stitches on the cable needle behind the piece, knit 2, knit 2 from the cable needle, put 2 stitches on the cable needle in front of the piece, knit 2, knit 2 from the cable needle, knit 2, purl 4 and knit 2 (= edge stitches). ROW 2 (wrong side): Knit 2 + 4, purl 12, knit 4 + 2. ROW 3: Knit 2, purl 4, put 2 stitches on the cable needle behind the piece, knit 2, purl 2 from the cable needle, knit 4, put 2 stitches on the cable needle in front of the piece, purl 2, knit 2 from the cable needle, purl 4 and knit 2 (= edge stitches). ROW 4: Knit 2+4, purl 2, knit 2, purl 4, knit 2, purl 2 and knit 4+2. ROW 5: Knit 2, purl 3, put 1 stitch on the cable needle behind the piece, knit 2, purl 1 from the cable needle, purl 2, put 2 stitches on the cable needle behind the piece, knit 2, knit 2 from the cable needle, purl 2, put 2 stitches on the cable needle in front of the piece, purl 1, knit 2 from the cable needle, purl 3 and knit 2. ROW 6: Knit 2+3, purl 2, knit 3, purl 4, knit 3, purl 2 and knit 3+2. ROW 7: Knit 2, purl 2, put 1 stitch on the cable needle behind the piece, knit 2, purl 1 from the cable needle, purl 3, knit 4, purl 3, put 2 stitches on the cable needle in front, purl 1, knit 2 from the cable needle, purl 2 and knit 2. ROW 8: Knit 2+2, purl 2, knit 4, purl 4, knit 4, purl 2 and knit 2+2. ROW 9: Knit 2, purl 2, knit 2, purl 4, put 2 stitches on the cable needle behind the piece, knit 2, knit 2 from the cable needle, purl 4, knit 2, purl 2 and knit 2. ROW 10: Knit 2+2, purl 2, knit 4, purl 4, knit 4, purl 2 and knit 2+2. ROW 11: Knit 2, purl 2, put 2 stitches on the cable needle in front of the piece, purl 2, knit 2 from the cable needle, put 2 stitches on the cable needle behind the piece, knit 2, knit 2 from the cable needle, put 2 stitches on the cable needle in front on the piece, knit 2, knit 2 from the cable needle, put 2 stitches on the cable needle behind the piece, knit 2, purl 2 from the cable needle, purl 2 and knit 2. ROW 12: Knit 2+4, purl 12 and knit 4+2. Repeat row 3-12 until the desired length and cast off.
