How to crochet a simple fan pattern

A fan pattern can consist of different number of stitches and types of stitches. In this DROPS video we show two simple fan patterns. In the first part of the video the fan consist of 4 tr's with 2 ch between each, and second fan pattern has 6 dtr's with 2 ch between each. In the video we have already crocheted 3 rows of fan pattern. Ch 4, then *2 tr, ch 2, 2 tr in the same ch-space*, repeat *-* 3 more times, end with 1 ch and 1 tr in 3rd ch from previous row. In the last part of the video we show the same fan pattern, but the 2 tr's are replaced with 3 dtr's. You must read the pattern and look at the charts to be able to follow. This edge can be added on a crochet piece, or on a knitted piece, or you can crochet and sew it on to a piece of fabric, like a towel. If working along a crochet edge you will need a number of sts that can be divided by 8 + 1. If working in the round you need a number of sts that can be divided in 8. On our sample we have 25 sts.
