How to work saddle shoulder increase back and forth

In this DROPS video we show how to work saddle shoulder increase back and forth, both from right side and wrong side. We have put 4 markers in the piece and it increases like this: BEFORE MARKER (applies from right side): The stitch is twisted towards the right. Use left needle to pick up thread between 2 stitches from row below, pick up thread from behind and knit stitch in front loop. AFTER MARKER: The stitch is twisted towards the left. Use left needle to pick up thread between 2 stitches from row below, pick up thread from front and knit stitch in back loop. How to increase to saddle shoulder by working 5 stitches in the same stitch

In this DROPS video we show how to increase to saddle shoulders by working 5 stitches in the same stitch. Only the front and back pieces the stitches increases, the number of shoulder stitches remains the same. We put 4 markes (the markers show witch stich we will do the increases in) and 4 marker threads (the marking threads show the difference between the sleeves, front and back piece) in the work. We start the video by showing how to put the markers and markers thread at the same time we do a YO over the markers threads. On the next round, slip the yarn overs at each marker thread off the needle; this is so the stitches before and after the increases for the saddle shoulders are not tight. We show 2 rounds with increases. You do need to read the pattern how to increase in the stitch with marker. How to increase to saddle shoulder with yarn over before and after markers

In this DROPS video we show how to increase to saddle shoulder by increasing 8 yarn overs before and after markers in a work in one and the same round. This technique is used in the "Country Muse" jumper in DROPS 216-40 and the "Country Muse Cardigan" jacket in DROPS 216-39. We have already worked a neckline for a jumper and start the video by putting marks in the garment. In the 1st round we show how we increase by 2 yarn overs before the 1st and 3rd mark and how we increase by 2 yarn overs after the 2nd and 4th mark. On the next round knit the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. If it is a jacket, the next row is from WS then work the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. The number of shoulder-stitches stays the same – the increased stitches become part of the front/back pieces. How to start working a garment in English rib after charts - Part 1

In this DROPS video we show how we start working a garment in English rib after charts, like the Mountain Moraine vest in DROPS 210-4 and the Easy Over vest in DROPS 217-13. We already have worked the neck to 210-4, but we work with fewer stitches than it says in the pattern (the neck in 217-13 is longer). We start the video by showing round 1 where the chart A.1, A.2 and A.3 is worked. We use stitch markers between each chart to get a better overview. Work pattern as follows: A.1 (= 2 stitches) over the first 4 stitches (= half back piece), A.2 (= 2 stitches), A.1 over 6 stitches, A.3 (= 2 stitches = shoulder), A.1 over 8 stitches (= front piece), A.2 over 2 stitches, A.1 over 6 stitches, A.3 over 2 stitches (= shoulder) and A.1 over the last 4 stitches (= half back piece). How to start working a garment in English rib after charts - Part 2

In this DROPS video we show how to continue working after charts A.1, A.2 and A.3 used in the Mountain Moraine vest in DROPS 210-4 and the Easy Over vest in DROPS 217-13. We have already worked chart A.1 once in height and now only A.1a is repeated over A.1 in height. In the video we show how to work round 9. (increase round) and round 10, then we work round 15 (increase round) and round 16. Then we work A.2a over A.2 and A.3a over A.3 (we show the first round of A.2a and A.3a). When all the increases are finished (read the pattern for the number of increases), work A.1a over all stitches until the work has the correct measurements (read the pattern for measurements). In this DROPS video we show how to work the beginning to the «Easy Over» vest in DROPS 217-13 and the «Slippery Slopes Sweater» jumper in DROPS 217-14, both in English rib, with saddle shoulder and where it`s increases by working 3 stitches in 1 stitch. We use a less numbers of stitches than it says in the pattern. We have already cast on and purled 1 round to the neck edge and start the video with showing a bit of round 1-4 where we work after chart A.1. Chart A.1a is worked the same way as the 4 first rounds. Then we show how to work after chart A.1, A.2 and A.3. We put markers between each charts to have a better overview. We show the whole rounds of 1-3, and half of round 4 and 5. How to divide a piece for front and back pieces and how to cast off shoulder stitches in English rib

In this DROPS video we show how to divide a piece for front and back pieces and how to cast off shoulder stitches, as done in vests in DROPS 210-4 and 217-13. In the Slippery Slopes Sweater in 217-14 we dont cast off the stitches for the sleeve opening, but put the shoulder stitches on a thread. We have fewer stitches than what is written in the patterns. Start in the middle of the back and work the number of stitches written in the pattern, we work 13 stitches in English rib, 1 stitch in garter stitch (K1), then cast off stitches for the 1st sleeve opening (yarn overs are cast off as separate stitches to avoid the cast-off edge being tight). Work English rib over the front piece, 1 garter stitch (K1), cast off to the 2nd sleeve opening, 1 garter stitch(K1) and then work English rib rest of the round. Cut the strand. Allow the other stitches to remain on the needle.Work from RS (the stitches must now be moved to the left side of the needle). Work as follows from RS: 1 garter stitch (K1), A.4 until 1 stitch remains and finish with 1 stitch in garter stitch (K1). Work like this back and forth to the stated size in the pattern (make sure that the last row is from WS). Work the front piece the same as the back piece (the stitches are moved to the left needle). How to work a body with English rib together again

In this DROPS video we show how we work a body together again in English rib after casting off stitches for sleeve opening, as it is done in the Mountain Moraine vest in DROPS 210-4. We have a fewer number of stitches than what is written in the pattern. Work front piece according to chart A1a, (work garter stitches now as 1st stitch in A.1a), cast on new stitches under 1st sleeve, work back piece after the same chart (A.1a), cast on new stitches under 2nd sleeve / at the end of the round. Now work A.1a in the round over all the stitches. On the first round work the 3 cast-on stitches under each sleeve without yarn overs. How to work saddle shoulders with pouffe sleeves - back and forth

In this DROPS video we show how we work the beginning to the saddle shoulders with pouffe sleeves, working back and forth, like it is worked in the “White Water Jacket” in DROPS 222-26. The same technique is used in the "White Water" jumper in DROPS 222-25 - even if beginning of the piece is first worked in the round. We use the stitch numbers in the smallest size and we have already worked the neck edge (3 cm). We start the video by showing which stitches are set on a thread (front pieces and back piece). The saddle shoulders are worked separately. Read in the pattern under SADDLE SHOULDERS how it is worked. This jacket is worked in 2 threads DROPS Kid Silk but in the video, we use 1 thread DROPS Air.
