How to knit a braided edge

In this DROPS video we show you how to knit a braided edge. A braided edge is worked best in the round. We first cast on an even number of stitches with 2 different colors. And then we remove the loop from the beginning of the needle and place a marker before we knit the first round. We knit the colors alternately. The next two rounds are purled and remember to work the stitches in the same color as the round below. When you purl the first round put your working yarn to the right up and over the needle, and when you purl the second round put the working yarn down to the left.

How to knit a hem with picots along the edge

In this DROPS video we show how you can knit a pretty and feminine hem (edge) with picots. You knit an eyelet row and this row is then where we do the fold and from where all length measures in pattern are measured. So knit a couple of cm/ an inch in stockinette st then work a row from RS like this; *K2 tog, 1 yo*, repeat *-* to end of row. Continue in stockinette or what patterns tells. Afterward fold the bottom edge to inside and sew with neat sts. You must read the pattern to be able to follow. How to work an easy picot edge

In this DROPS video we show how to work an easy picot edge. We work back and forth, but you can also work it in the round. Work like this on row 1: * Knit 7 stitches, slip 2nd stitch on right needle over outermost stitch on right needle (over the last stitch worked), pass next stitch on right needle over outermost stitch on right needle (2 stitches decreased = 1 arch) *, work from *-* the entire row. How to knit a fan edge

In this DROPS video we show you how to knit a fan edge with the help of a crochet hook. If you need 20 stitches you have to make 5 fans (1 fan = 4 stitches). * Cast on 10 stitches on both a knitting needle and a crochet hook, (remember to have enough thread to cast on with). Make a yarn over the crochet hook, pull the yarn through the 10 stitches, pick up 1st stitch with the crochet hook and pull it through the loop on the crochet hook, tighten the thread, pick up the 10th stitches with the crochet hook, pull out the knitting needle and put the 2 stitches from crochet hook to the knitting needle * (= 1 fan). Repeat from * - * until you have half the number of stitches you want. Turn and cast on 2 new stitches between the 2 stitches in each fan on the 1st row from WS. Start knitting stockinette stitch. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video.

How to work a flounce edge after chart

In this DROPS video we show how to work a flounce edge after chart A.1 used in the “Rosy Ruffles” socks in DROPS 223-47. We have already cast on 36 stitches with 2 threads. We work further with only 1 thread. These socks are worked in DROPS Nord, but in this video we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow. How to work a rib with small waves along the cast-on edge

In this DROPS video we show how we work a rib with small waves along the cast-on edge. We have already worked 4 rows with rib (1K and 1P), and with 3K in the beginning and end in each row (both from RS and WS). Then we work as follows: Knit 1, * purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, take the right needle from the front of work and under the cast on edge, use right needle to lift the outermost stitch from left needle to the right needle, then take the right needle back around under the cast on edge (only the outermost stitch on the right needle is wrapped around the cast on edge), place this stitch back on left needle and knit the stitch (make sure the stitch is not twisted) *, work from *-* the whole row. The neck now has small waves along the cast-on edge. Turn, and work rib to finish measurement. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. How to start working a rolling-edge

In this DROPS video we show to start working a rolling-edge, like the one in DROPS 230-49 and DROPS 230-50. We have already worked 3 ridges (1 ridge = knit 2 rows) and start the video like this: 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, knit 3, * twist the stitches on the right needle 360 degrees as follows: Take the strand to the right side and take the right needle under the piece and up to the right side, knit 6 *, work from *-* until there are 4 stitches left, knit 3 and 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. In this DROPS video we show how to work an easy cute lace edge. Cast on 4 stitches. Row 1: Slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1, make 2 yarn over (= double yarn over) and knit 2. Row 2: Slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 2 (work part 1 of yarn over twisted), purl 1, knit 2. Row 3: Slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 5. Row 4: Slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 5. Row 5: Slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1, make 2 yarn over, knit 2 twisted together, make 2 yarn over, knit 2. Row 6: Slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 8 (work part 1 of yarn over twisted). Row 7: Slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 8. Row 8: Cast off 5 stitches (= 3+1 stitches on needles), knit to the end of row. Repeat row 1-8 to desired length. How to knit a folded edge in a skirt

In this DROPS video we show you how to knit a folded edge in a skirt. The edge is worked in the round. We work 6 cm stocking stitch, before we fold the cast-on edge to the back and knit the stitches from the needle together with the stitches from the cast-on edge. How to knit the twisted edge in DROPS 92-15

In this DROPS video we show how to knit the twisted edge in DROPS 92-15. Cast on and knit some rows in stockinette st. We are twisting after every 4th st, but you can twist with shorter or longer spaces. We are twisting by twisting the left needle away from us, you can twist away from you or towards you, just be consistent. On socks or sleeve edges for example you might want to make one of each to be mirrored. This technique creates a scalloped twisted edge. It is just as stretchy as a regular stocking st edge. How to start a sock with a flounce

In this DROPS video we show how to start a sock with a flounce, like the “Dainty Duo” socks in DROPS 229-19. We cast on with 2 strands, but continue with 1 strand. Then we knit 4 rounds and on the next round we knit all stitches together 2 by 2. Then we work a rib (knit 1 twisted/purl 1). How to knit a twisted edge on the hat in DROPS Extra 0-1190

I this DROPS video we show how you can knit the twisted edge on the hat in DROPS Extra 0-1190. Cast on the number of stiches as stated in the pattern. On this video we have casted on 46 sts and knitted garter st until piece measures approx 5 cm, then cast off the first 23 sts on row, knit the rest of row. Knit the next row as follows from RS: Knit 23 sts, twist the last part of piece and pick up 1 st in every st from cast-on edge on piece = 46 sts on row.
